There was something about this movie I never realised was something profoundly special until fairly recently. After rediscovering the soundtrack, it just hit me how much indescribable emotion is packed in with every aspect of the ambiance and world building in it. It gives a unique feeling of apocalyptic solitude as well as cosmic dread, but also hope and a personal introspection into humanity and our place within the universe. Arghh. Goosebumps.
M83 and Susanne Sundfør, is superb!!! I want to hear more from them. This music makes me feel myself and my problems , in a way that i can cope with. I really love this music.!!!!!

Daft Punk wrote the music for TRON: Legacy (and won a Grammy). Keep that in mind for a moment. Anthony Gonzalez of M83 was selected by Oblivion’s director along with someone who studied under Hans Zimmer in the composer’s studio group. This person was Joseph Trapanese. And the Director of TRON: Legacy and Oblivion was Joseph Kosinski (and Top Gun: Maverick). M83 and Trapanese would also work together again on the scores of the 3 movies of the Divergent series, another set of beautiful scores. Now you know the rest of the story. Joseph Trapanese orchestrated Daft Punk’s music for TRON: Legacy and co-wrote and orchestrated the score for Oblivion and for The Divergent series with M83. Who else came out of Hans Zimmer’s composer’s studio? The list is so long you’ll have to look it up. Although this is an extended mix of the Oblivion sound track, it would be good if you could mention the vocalist Susanne Sundfør in the title of this music track. She's after all cowriter of this song together with Anthony Gonzalez and Susanne has also the vocals for this song, which also is used in the movie by the same name.
I have listened to this video as I go to bed over 50 times. It's a great song for contemplation as you are dozing off. Recently though every 4 minutes there is two or three commercials. Not only do the advertisers lose my business because they pissed me off by interrupting my contemplations. But TH-cam is about to lose me to Pandora and Spotify. I don't know if the individual that posts this has any control over how many commercials play during their posts. But if you do have control over it you need to dial it back a little bit. Please.
