It makes sense. I've never been to Florida, but my parents had to stop there a few hours to catch the last leg of their journey somewhere else once. They said they thought it would be neat to go outside, hang out for a bit. Went out the doors...immediately went back inside. It was so hot and humid, the air was like soup. And this was November. I bet their team was having a hard time doing well because they weren't properly hydrating. I bet dehydration in such a humid situation is sort of insidious. You can't tell it's bad until it's way too late.
As a Floridian, yes, the air is like soup, all year long. The worse part of that is how you don't even know how much you've been sweating until you hit Air Conditioning, then suddenly, you see you're drenched in water and freezing cold.
I’d say Body Armor is the better drink overall, but Gatorade has better flavors. Best natural would be coconut water. I work in 110° and I’m taking body armor any day of the week

Fun fact for people out there: In video games and sports you might think that you have to practice and learn in order to win, that is mostly the truth. But a good fraction why people win in sports and esports is because of what they do BEFORE the game. Its great getting a clear and normal mindset. I suggest try to get someone to find a good schedule for you but these are my tips: 1. Sleep at around 8-9 Pm, 2. Wake up at around 8 Am, 3. Get a breakfast, something like orange juice and pancakes (make sure to not eat much and only eat nutritious food), 4. Go take a walk for atleast 15 minutes or so, grab a smoothie while you're at it. 5. Go back home and rest, as in relax. Watch on TV or something. 6. Practice Time after this point you should try to practice if you still have time, practice the important things that many people use. after practice and you are now in the game, make sure you keep a clear mind and focus on the objective. Don't think of random things,
I play baseball quite often, and during the summer it can hit really high temps and humidity during our games. One game was at a temp of 105 with a humidity of 95%, and I was sweating buckets. I drank around 2 gallons of water during the game, but didn’t realize I was losing insane amounts of sodium at the same time. When I got back from the game, I started getting incredibly sick and vomiting everywhere. I thought I was dehydrated so I drank even more water, which got me even more sick. I quickly found out I had severe water poisoning and which had shut down my liver and kidneys and was causing me to get incredibly sick. Apparently you can die pretty quickly from water poisoning because it’s symptoms are incredibly similar to dehydration, and since water poisoning is very rare, most people assume they’re dehydrated and drink more water, which can kill them. I was lucky that I realized I had water poisoning and took some leftover soup in the fridge, poured a ton of extra salt inside, and ate the salty sludge. It was disgusting and nearly caused me to vomit again, but within minutes my color had returned and I was feeling much better. Honestly such a scary feeling. Gatorade saved many lives because the electrolytes are vital to prevent endurance athletes from poisoning themselves from a lack of sodium.
