    The oil on the filter is so it doesn’t fuse itself to the housing and it’s not so hard to get it off

      That's probably what happened lol. Don't need much to tighten the filter, I know a few of them have color coated bits for specific torque specs.

    • @InfamousCreep

      Someone else mentioned 5 qts too, as long as it sits in the required area it's fine. These engines burn oil, I added another quart within 800 miles after the oil change.

    Huh, both my softails take 5 qts....107 & 114, Run them after 4.5 check while on the side stand and still 1/2 quart low...I have a 2019 softail slim and 2020 fat bob 114.

    • @InfamousCreep
      @InfamousCreep  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I check my oil regularly, usually while I refuel. 300 miles later, it still sits at the same level. Few Facebook members mentioned having to fill up with a quart of oil every thousand miles. I could add .5 a quart, but it’s already within “safe” range. I’ll upload a update, thanks for sharing brother.

    • @InfamousCreep
      @InfamousCreep  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know right, I was surprised about the 4qt kit and 5qt kit. These bikes are all the same, I don't think the have different oil pans? I could've pour a extra .5 quart into the LRS and it would've been fine. My levels were near the bottom of the dipstick.

  • @kenpacheco4426
    @kenpacheco4426 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think the reason for the 5 qt kit is that the 114 uses 4.5 qts. My 114 takes 4.5 qts. I always have 1/2 qt left over

    • @InfamousCreep
      @InfamousCreep  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess you could put a little more, but it’s within the full area of the dipstick. It’s about 1/4 of the full level area, I checked it again after another ride. I’ll check it again in 2k miles, I’ll probably give it half a quart then. Thanks for the info, I was wondering about that since most other models take 4 qts.

    • @joshcampbell1448
      @joshcampbell1448 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep an eye on your oil level every 1k miles, these have been notorious for “oil consumption”.

  • @spoom937
    @spoom937 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    An helpful tip next time you change oil! Turn the oil quarts the other way when you pour them... it seems ass backwards but the quarts are made to be poured the opposite way you poured it! I didn't believe it until I watched a Kruesi video and he got me hip!

    • @InfamousCreep
      @InfamousCreep  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like that channel, homeboi funny as hell lol. It's because of the air, but the funnel helps with trapped air. I'll try it on my next oil change, my car is almost due for a change. Thanks, I'll check out his video too.
