The fact that Damien was producing the series, on-camera running the game, playing the game, and acting, is so impressive. SO impressive. Betrayal on Board AF is really special. I think what made people fall in love with it was the talent and commitment of each person being able to bring their characters to life. The game itself was really cool, but the cast REALLY was the icing on top. I cried when it ended, like I do with a good book. I didn't want to see the characters leave..
I cried too! It was such an amazing ending to their story, to have the flashbacks to the previous characters. I just know when they eventually finish their Sword AF campaign I'm gonna cry again.
I probably wouldn't have watched all the Legacy Betrayal episodes if it weren't for how fun everyone's characters were. I would really like to see a DnD campaign with this same vibe, it would be awesome
I hope Sword AF does well, as this particular group seems like they would be a lot of fun. I hope we get, like, an episode 0 of the show where we get shown the process of character creation both from a character sheet and character actor point of view. I think that would be a lot of fun to see that process, especially if they were edited down into quick little "meet the team" videos before the actual debut episode.
I think an episode 0 would actually be fantastic and it would help Amanda understand the process better, i believe. I think it would almost feel like a meet and greet at the end of episode 0 where they've finished creating the characters and then they discover who everyone else is.
@@campbellphoenix7662t’s been done before. Matt Mercer and Talesin from Critical Role did some home brews that DND offer on their website, but it’s not officially in the player manual yet. It’s a fighter subclass with some artificer mixed in. Intelligence to build and fix the gun, actions and bonus actions spent to reload and repair the gun, etc.

Not to be dramatic but I came across Smosh and the Betrayal Legacy saga like literally a week ago and was instantly hooked and just cried a little at work because of this announcement. So thrilled to count myself a big fan now!!!
I saw the new video the ep 5-9 one and I went straight to the play list and finished it out. I havn't really watched smosh for a few years now, but it's growing on me again.
I played Betrayal Legacy with 3 friends that I'd met through work/significant others. We managed to find a copy of the game where the original owner had finished the first 2 sessions but their group fell apart and couldn't finish the game. This only made us more determined to finish it. We tried to meet every 3 weeks for the better part of 8 months. We did play different characters in the same family tree, but not nearly as detailed - and it was difficult to keep up any weird voice for 3 hours for us non-actors. Although 2 of us enjoyed it much more than the others, we did end up finishing the game. We all met at my place which I was sharing with other roommates, so my 3 Legacy friends became staples in my house to the point where my other roommates would ask how the game was going over snack breaks and everyone became friends. Although our game had a bittersweet ending (the least serious person who didn't ever learn the rules ended up destroying us all as the traitor multiple times in a row), the huge amount of time we spent on this game brought us all closer together. We helped each other through tough times like relationship issues, sick family members, and also celebrated birthdays and accomplishments - one of us finished their PHD and convinced someone else to go to school for their dream job. This game helped us build much-needed connections over Covid and 2 of us even started dating - 2 years and going strong. I will forever be grateful for the game and the effort each person put into committing to meet every few weeks.
I hope everyone involved with Legacy: Betrayal looks back on the experience fondly. As a viewer, this series was hands-down my favorite series introduced on Smosh. Thank you to everyone for making this happen and sharing it with us viewers!
It was a good series of videos. If you want another version of this legacy game jump over to GeekAndSundrys channel where they played it but with a much more sedated vibe and they went into far more detail about the haunts and use of the helm. I may search TH-cam to see if there are anymore complete playthroughs. Different groups handle the same game in different ways
Chanse would be such a good interviewer/presentator. As in, Damien obviously had the lead in this episode, but Chanse brought up some great questions for everyone to answer several times, leading to fun conversations!

Amanda not knowing how to play but also being one of the most successful players was too funny. I do wish they would have brought up how great the production was for Shayne's silent movie character. I know little to nothing about D&D but I'm excited cause it's gonna be the same cast
Amanda's character work is truly incredible. And she has an amazing attitude of "I'm just going to jump in and try this" instead of feeling unsure with not knowing the rules.
Here's everything you need to know about D&D: improv characters, and whenever you want to try something that can fail, you roll dice and add a stat and try to roll high. That's it, pretty much, the rest is just storytelling and reading your character sheet, which is their job as players, not ours as audience 😁
With the announcement here of Sword AF as well as today's HUGE announcement on the main channel it really seems like Smosh is going in an excellent direction. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for all of you and I can't wait to be along for the journey! 😁
The episode with Shelby I think was my favorite one, chanse was just nuts and everyone else’s laughter just made it so enjoyable. I loved this series so much!
In the future if you guys ever wanted to try another legacy/campaign type game, I'd highly recommend "King's Dilemma". I think ya'll would really get a kick out of it playing different characters the same way you did for Betrayal.
i feel like they needed this game to then go on to DnD. They tried to DnD but it wasn't great because Tim didn't have the presence needed to guide new players.
I'm glad Damien made sure with the rules to boost everyone because Amanda, Angela, & Chanse were genuinely so fun to watch & I'm glad they got their time to shine with Betrayal Legacy. Those 3 are so genuinely funny & bring a lot of life to the videos (not that there isn't life, its just more new life to it).
Loving this type of video of the cast dissecting what they do. Just goes to show how much thought and effort is put into everything Smosh creates for us. It's also heartwarming to hear them acknowledge the crew a lot. What an era to live in. ⭐

I actually love the idea that the chosen is actually is a hero in every other universe, and just normal guy in this universe. It just kinda fits the character well, he has a inate calling to be prepared for anything, but it never comes.
BETRAYAL LEGACY WAS MY COMFORT SERIES! I have watched all episodes MULTIPLE times…especially while writing lesson plans for some reason. 😅😅😅 I was a definite rewatcher.
Smosh is doing so many new exciting things on all the channels with smosh cast and Sword af and more to come!! I’m truly feeling a renaissance of Smosh. The mix of of “old” and “new” cast is everything. I think we’ve got so much talent and just everyone’s vibes work together. Also loveee the musical comedy happening on Smosh because we’ve always had Damien and Court and Tommy be such musical legends and the addition of angela and Chanse just amped that up!

SMOSH D&D?!?! I have never been more excited. I loved Betrayal Legacy, but D&D opens way more in the art of role playing, so I cannot WAIT to see how they’ll take this.

So my husband, myself, and our nephew are doing Betrayal Legacy via Tabletop Simulator because you inspired us to roll with and have fun with character building. I love that you gave major props to people who help behind the scenes cuz this ish is HARD on your own, especially in a virtual space - we're on generation 5 now I believe, and we've had many heated discussions on rules and their interpretations, what's "legal," etc. This was so much fun to watch and reference when we got stuck in our own game, you guys and the whole Board AF crew are utterly fantastic. I honestly LOVE the behind the scenes elements that smosh throws into all of their videos. Even in this "behind the scenes" video they throw in behind the scenes footage of spencer. It makes me feel like I know these guys so well, I want to meet them all and become friends with all of them. This is the reason smosh is my favorite channel. I feel so close to all of them and fell in love with everyone's senses of humor. AND SWORD AF YESSSSS

I have such a higher appreciation for every aspect of the series after this. One thing specifically though is chance’s family lineage. Like when he described how each character lead into the next, I was in awe.

I never played the legacy version, but I've played the basic Betrayal at the House on the Hill, and it's some of the best board game playing I've ever had. I once had a playthrough where an old priest led a team of children to defeat the traitor woman and her werewolves. The priest sent the children to their deaths one by one and then spent his final moments cowering in the magic elevator with several of their corpses. Great fun.
I love love love the amount of patience and love and understanding between this crew. No one got upset at anyone for not knowing what they are doing, no one was upset about mistakes and now they are all excited to play DnD together. Its just so wholesome and heartwarming. This whole crew, and everyone at smosh just has true hearts of gold. Also I'd like to join the smosh cast ok thanks bye

Not going to lie, when the series ended I looked for videos from other youtube channels playing Betrayal, but they are all just plain boring, no costumes, no funny characters, just serious people playing a serious game. You guys did an amazing job on this series. Congrats!

There WAS one on the topic of aliens and UFOs and conspiracies such, but he played Aunt Carol instead. And that was probably for the best because even Shayne mentioned the IWTM guy was a bit character he didn't expect to blow up and wasn't really prepared to do more with him since he really had the one joke.
I absolutely loved this. Just seeing everyone sit around and chat and be themselves is so fun (which is why I'm really excited that Smoshcast is back). Getting a look behind the curtain is one of my favorite things. I would kill to be in the room to see one of these unedited and unfiltered, or even better, getting a seat at the table. I adore BAF: Legacy and cannot wait to get into Sword AF. I'm a very experienced D&D player and DM and think this cast is going to kill it in that setting and system.
I just want to say that I never comment on TH-cam videos. Betrayal is one of my favorite games, and every episode of Legacy had my fiance and I tearing up from laughter. Thank you so much for putting all of the work in that you did, and delivering such an unforgettable experience! We've watched every episode, and have even slapped on our favorite episodes for friends and family (partially because I'm trying to convince everyone to run through Legacy with us....). It was a great series, every sunday i was very excited of the notification. The characters, the recurring jokes like the O'Brien family being infatuated with the Poppy family, the strong seed of Whitmore, the brave Braun family having legit awful luck except for Aunt Carolyn and then Boodles family Demonic linage.
I can't express how much love I have for these behind the scenes videos and witnessing magic happening, the preperation and insight on these shoots. Congratulation on the production and the cast!
My friends and I played through an entire Betrayal Legacy campaign and it took like 3 years! We had mostly the same 5 people playing but some subs here and there for games when people couldn't make it. We did make sure to finish it with the same 5 people who initially started playing, which was great and even though we lost the last haunt it was a really fun round. I learned from watching this that win or lose, the game ends with the characters from the regular Betrayal series coming to the house! We all had the same look on our face as Damien when we found that out in our game. Wild. It wasn't always one that we brought out at a regular game night (even if I wanted to play it every single time, which I usually did bc it's GREAT), hence why it took so long to finish. It was neat to see you guys do some of the same haunts we did! Some ones we had in common were the first one in 1666 (where I played a 9-year old girl named Peepus Poopus-- blue family-- who got punted over the hanging tree by the red family, allowing me to read the special secret witch hunt card first and watch the chaos unfold), the berserker one, the hellhorse one, the living furniture one, the one with the house falling apart into the gates to Valhalla, and the final one with the elevator being important to the haunt. There were some you guys did that I never got to see in our game, which was neat. Some of my favorites that happened in our own game were ones that turned into ridiculous chases like your berserker round, or crazy races against the clock and/or the traitor like your hellhorse/Marie Curie ones. I don't think we ever ended up doing one haunt immediately after finishing one, but really fun or intense games sure made me want to! My family (blue) heirloomed the crossbow early on to help with our not-so-good physical stats, so it was funny to watch Damien desperately search for it again and again bc I KNOW that feel. There were games I wouldn't have survived without that thing. All in all it was probably my favorite game we've ever brought to game night. I would do it again in a heartbeat if this game was still in print. Right now we're playing the newest edition of regular Betrayal at House on the Hill from time to time, but I'll always have a place in my heart for the legacy version because there really is nothing else like it! Thank you so much for bringing this game to life with your characters and ideas, and to everyone who worked alongside you behind the scenes to help you with this project! The playlist of these games is going to be on loop here at my place for a long, LONG time-- and I've told all the friends I played our legacy game with about this series as well. One just finished them all today and it sounds like he loved it as much as I did. Can't wait for DND!
Betrayal legacy was a hellish nightmare for me. Not just because I kept getting my ass handed to me, but because I made the mistake of playing with my family.
100% completed Betrayal: Legacy (while being the traitor the most often!!!). Also done Pandemic: Legacy Seasons 1 & 2, and about 70% of the way through The King's Dilemma (which, as at least one other person noted, could be a LOT of fun for this group). The most memorable Betrayal story was absolutely the one with the possessed doll, which in our story grew to a monstrous size and buried itself under the manor after feasting on the non-traitor characters. This is absolutely the first legacy game I've played that I would go through again in a heart beat; you all did a fabulous job with it.
Behind the scenes videos like this is great because it gives us, the audience, a peek at your creative processes and how you process the characters. Also, it gives a shout out to the unsung heroes like Alex. Hoping for more vids like this.
This series was true gold. The game creators killed it. The whole team killed it at smosh. And then yall had a killer cast to shine with their creative and acting skills. Everyone nailed it with this one. 👌 Rolled with the punches and fleshed out a great show.
I really enjoyed this like the Summer and Winter games and the Smosh and Order series. You all did an amazing job and made funny characters for us to laugh with/at.

Watching this series was honestly almost an accident but the best accident ever. I was super sick and wanted something to watch, and ended up binging the whole series in 2 days. Turned out to be my fave thing smosh has ever made. Can’t wait to watch y’all play dnd (I’ll already know the rules to that one at least!)
I cannot explain how much I loved this series as a whole, smosh introduced me to betrayal and it quickly became one of my favorites, and to see all of the characters and unique gameplay in legacy was so amazingly entertaining and lovable and it was just an amazing thing to watch from start to finish. ❤❤

shayne really is one of the smartest players and people on smosh and this really shows it - damien did brilliant in running and planning this whole game but shayne's characters were always so clever and the way he planned so far ahead. and chanse planning his characters based on the ones before!! such stellar work from the whole gang!
Honestly, legacy didnt catch my attention in the first episode, and i never watched the other ones either but seeing how passionate all the cast was about it, i'm definitely gonna give it a try
The episode where they fight the town is the best one. They really get into the roleplay and it made so much sense for them to try out D&D (again) next. And then everything after the 1920+ is gold.
Damien is such a sweetheart and one of the greatest assets to Smosh games and Smosh as a whole!… but on another note. A 2012 would’ve been awesome cause everyone could’ve played a doomsday character thinking the world was gonna end 😂
i think i figured out why sword af didn't smack as hard as baf legacy and it's something damien said in this video, about having to play simon so many times. "it was too many times to be fun for me" i think these 5 work so well when they're changing things up and getting to try on different hats and skills and personalities, and being bound to one character and one play style and one tone etc etc stifled just enough creativity that continuing on with it felt like more of a chore than something fun. which is a bummer, as someone that really enjoyed sword af, but it makes SENSE why it didn't work as well as this. i do hope, at some point in the future, y'all can play more legacy games, or any sort of ongoing game with as much variety as this one. you really struck gold.
I started watching this series because the underlying haunt was intriguing. I finished watching this series because I grew attached to the families and wanted to see how they evolved over the years. There were so many perfect story arcs, like the Poppy’s and the O’Brien’s merging and splitting because of a brother’s betrayal. My favorite was the asylum, because the only sane character was the betrayer.
I'll take Chanse in any form he wants to be in which makes him internally happy. Cause when I say I love chanse im not talking about the shell he comes in. I'm talking about whatever makes him, him. The energy, tha' heart, the mind. He just radiates the kind of energies that make me feel seen and warm AND HE IS F*CKING HILARIOUS! And I love him for all of those things.
This whole dang series was amazing. Binged it in a side window at the office over the last couple weeks. Everyone involved deserves so much praise. Incredible character work by the cast, impeccable choices by costuming, and absolutely fantastic editing with all the little effects and such. Y'all should be very proud of this.

Betrayal on Board AF is really special. I think what made people fall in love with it was the talent and commitment of each person being able to bring their characters to life. The game itself was really cool, but the cast REALLY was the icing on top. I cried when it ended, like I do with a good book. I didn't want to see the characters leave..
I cried too! It was such an amazing ending to their story, to have the flashbacks to the previous characters. I just know when they eventually finish their Sword AF campaign I'm gonna cry again.

I hope Sword AF does well, as this particular group seems like they would be a lot of fun. I hope we get, like, an episode 0 of the show where we get shown the process of character creation both from a character sheet and character actor point of view. I think that would be a lot of fun to see that process, especially if they were edited down into quick little "meet the team" videos before the actual debut episode.
I think an episode 0 would actually be fantastic and it would help Amanda understand the process better, i believe. I think it would almost feel like a meet and greet at the end of episode 0 where they've finished creating the characters and then they discover who everyone else is.
I wonder if DND could have a “gunslinger” character.
@@campbellphoenix7662t’s been done before. Matt Mercer and Talesin from Critical Role did some home brews that DND offer on their website, but it’s not officially in the player manual yet. It’s a fighter subclass with some artificer mixed in. Intelligence to build and fix the gun, actions and bonus actions spent to reload and repair the gun, etc.

Not to be dramatic but I came across Smosh and the Betrayal Legacy saga like literally a week ago and was instantly hooked and just cried a little at work because of this announcement. So thrilled to count myself a big fan now!!!

I saw the new video the ep 5-9 one and I went straight to the play list and finished it out. I havn't really watched smosh for a few years now, but it's growing on me again.
I played Betrayal Legacy with 3 friends that I'd met through work/significant others. We managed to find a copy of the game where the original owner had finished the first 2 sessions but their group fell apart and couldn't finish the game. This only made us more determined to finish it. We tried to meet every 3 weeks for the better part of 8 months. We did play different characters in the same family tree, but not nearly as detailed - and it was difficult to keep up any weird voice for 3 hours for us non-actors. Although 2 of us enjoyed it much more than the others, we did end up finishing the game. We all met at my place which I was sharing with other roommates, so my 3 Legacy friends became staples in my house to the point where my other roommates would ask how the game was going over snack breaks and everyone became friends. Although our game had a bittersweet ending (the least serious person who didn't ever learn the rules ended up destroying us all as the traitor multiple times in a row), the huge amount of time we spent on this game brought us all closer together. We helped each other through tough times like relationship issues, sick family members, and also celebrated birthdays and accomplishments - one of us finished their PHD and convinced someone else to go to school for their dream job. This game helped us build much-needed connections over Covid and 2 of us even started dating - 2 years and going strong. I will forever be grateful for the game and the effort each person put into committing to meet every few weeks.
I hope everyone involved with Legacy: Betrayal looks back on the experience fondly. As a viewer, this series was hands-down my favorite series introduced on Smosh. Thank you to everyone for making this happen and sharing it with us viewers!
It was a good series of videos. If you want another version of this legacy game jump over to GeekAndSundrys channel where they played it but with a much more sedated vibe and they went into far more detail about the haunts and use of the helm. I may search TH-cam to see if there are anymore complete playthroughs. Different groups handle the same game in different ways
Between SwordAF, the SmoshCast coming back, and the pending Lets Do It announcement, Smosh is killing it. So excited for whatever is next!!
Chanse would be such a good interviewer/presentator. As in, Damien obviously had the lead in this episode, but Chanse brought up some great questions for everyone to answer several times, leading to fun conversations!

Amanda not knowing how to play but also being one of the most successful players was too funny. I do wish they would have brought up how great the production was for Shayne's silent movie character. I know little to nothing about D&D but I'm excited cause it's gonna be the same cast
Amanda's character work is truly incredible. And she has an amazing attitude of "I'm just going to jump in and try this" instead of feeling unsure with not knowing the rules.
Here's everything you need to know about D&D: improv characters, and whenever you want to try something that can fail, you roll dice and add a stat and try to roll high. That's it, pretty much, the rest is just storytelling and reading your character sheet, which is their job as players, not ours as audience 😁
With the announcement here of Sword AF as well as today's HUGE announcement on the main channel it really seems like Smosh is going in an excellent direction. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for all of you and I can't wait to be along for the journey! 😁
The episode with Shelby I think was my favorite one, chanse was just nuts and everyone else’s laughter just made it so enjoyable. I loved this series so much!
In the future if you guys ever wanted to try another legacy/campaign type game, I'd highly recommend "King's Dilemma". I think ya'll would really get a kick out of it playing different characters the same way you did for Betrayal.

I actually love the idea that the chosen is actually is a hero in every other universe, and just normal guy in this universe. It just kinda fits the character well, he has a inate calling to be prepared for anything, but it never comes.
BETRAYAL LEGACY WAS MY COMFORT SERIES! I have watched all episodes MULTIPLE times…especially while writing lesson plans for some reason. 😅😅😅 I was a definite rewatcher.
Smosh is doing so many new exciting things on all the channels with smosh cast and Sword af and more to come!! I’m truly feeling a renaissance of Smosh. The mix of of “old” and “new” cast is everything. I think we’ve got so much talent and just everyone’s vibes work together. Also loveee the musical comedy happening on Smosh because we’ve always had Damien and Court and Tommy be such musical legends and the addition of angela and Chanse just amped that up!

So my husband, myself, and our nephew are doing Betrayal Legacy via Tabletop Simulator because you inspired us to roll with and have fun with character building. I love that you gave major props to people who help behind the scenes cuz this ish is HARD on your own, especially in a virtual space - we're on generation 5 now I believe, and we've had many heated discussions on rules and their interpretations, what's "legal," etc. This was so much fun to watch and reference when we got stuck in our own game, you guys and the whole Board AF crew are utterly fantastic. Old Smosh who? 😂 Love y'all 💖
I honestly LOVE the behind the scenes elements that smosh throws into all of their videos. Even in this "behind the scenes" video they throw in behind the scenes footage of spencer. It makes me feel like I know these guys so well, I want to meet them all and become friends with all of them. This is the reason smosh is my favorite channel. I feel so close to all of them and fell in love with everyone's senses of humor. AND SWORD AF YESSSSS

I have such a higher appreciation for every aspect of the series after this. One thing specifically though is chance’s family lineage. Like when he described how each character lead into the next, I was in awe.

But you guys made this the most enjoyable board af series! I’m stoked for sword af with all of you guys! I never played the legacy version, but I've played the basic Betrayal at the House on the Hill, and it's some of the best board game playing I've ever had. I once had a playthrough where an old priest led a team of children to defeat the traitor woman and her werewolves. The priest sent the children to their deaths one by one and then spent his final moments cowering in the magic elevator with several of their corpses. Great fun.
I love love love the amount of patience and love and understanding between this crew. No one got upset at anyone for not knowing what they are doing, no one was upset about mistakes and now they are all excited to play DnD together. Its just so wholesome and heartwarming. This whole crew, and everyone at smosh just has true hearts of gold.

if there had been a Betrayal Legacy in the 70s, I'd want to see Shayne as the "I was there man" character.
There WAS one on the topic of aliens and UFOs and conspiracies such, but he played Aunt Carol instead. And that was probably for the best because even Shayne mentioned the IWTM guy was a bit character he didn't expect to blow up and wasn't really prepared to do more with him since he really had the one joke.

I absolutely loved this. Just seeing everyone sit around and chat and be themselves is so fun (which is why I'm really excited that Smoshcast is back). Getting a look behind the curtain is one of my favorite things. I would kill to be in the room to see one of these unedited and unfiltered, or even better, getting a seat at the table. I adore BAF: Legacy and cannot wait to get into Sword AF. I'm a very experienced D&D player and DM and think this cast is going to kill it in that setting and system.
With the announcement of Smosh D&D and now with Anthony back on the main channel, it's a very exciting time to be a fan.
I just want to say that I never comment on TH-cam videos. Betrayal is one of my favorite games, and every episode of Legacy had my fiance and I tearing up from laughter. It was a great series, every sunday i was very excited of the notification. The characters, the recurring jokes like the O'Brien family being infatuated with the Poppy family, the strong seed of Whitmore, the brave Braun family having legit awful luck except for Aunt Carolyn and then Boodles family Demonic linage.
I can't express how much love I have for these behind the scenes videos and witnessing magic happening, the preperation and insight on these shoots. Congratulation on the production and the cast!

My friends and I played through an entire Betrayal Legacy campaign and it took like 3 years! We had mostly the same 5 people playing but some subs here and there for games when people couldn't make it. We did make sure to finish it with the same 5 people who initially started playing, which was great and even though we lost the last haunt it was a really fun round. I learned from watching this that win or lose, the game ends with the characters from the regular Betrayal series coming to the house! We all had the same look on our face as Damien when we found that out in our game. Wild. It wasn't always one that we brought out at a regular game night (even if I wanted to play it every single time, which I usually did bc it's GREAT), hence why it took so long to finish.
It was neat to see you guys do some of the same haunts we did! Some ones we had in common were the first one in 1666 (where I played a 9-year old girl named Peepus Poopus-- blue family-- who got punted over the hanging tree by the red family, allowing me to read the special secret witch hunt card first and watch the chaos unfold), the berserker one, the hellhorse one, the living furniture one, the one with the house falling apart into the gates to Valhalla, and the final one with the elevator being important to the haunt. There were some you guys did that I never got to see in our game, which was neat. Some of my favorites that happened in our own game were ones that turned into ridiculous chases like your berserker round, or crazy races against the clock and/or the traitor like your hellhorse/Marie Curie ones. I don't think we ever ended up doing one haunt immediately after finishing one, but really fun or intense games sure made me want to!
My family (blue) heirloomed the crossbow early on to help with our not-so-good physical stats, so it was funny to watch Damien desperately search for it again and again bc I KNOW that feel. There were games I wouldn't have survived without that thing.
All in all it was probably my favorite game we've ever brought to game night. I would do it again in a heartbeat if this game was still in print. Right now we're playing the newest edition of regular Betrayal at House on the Hill from time to time, but I'll always have a place in my heart for the legacy version because there really is nothing else like it!
Thank you so much for bringing this game to life with your characters and ideas, and to everyone who worked alongside you behind the scenes to help you with this project! The playlist of these games is going to be on loop here at my place for a long, LONG time-- and I've told all the friends I played our legacy game with about this series as well. One just finished them all today and it sounds like he loved it as much as I did.

Betrayal legacy was a hellish nightmare for me. Not just because I kept getting my ass handed to me, but because I made the mistake of playing with my family.

100% completed Betrayal: Legacy (while being the traitor the most often!!!). Also done Pandemic: Legacy Seasons 1 & 2, and about 70% of the way through The King's Dilemma (which, as at least one other person noted, could be a LOT of fun for this group). The most memorable Betrayal story was absolutely the one with the possessed doll, which in our story grew to a monstrous size and buried itself under the manor after feasting on the non-traitor characters. This is absolutely the first legacy game I've played that I would go through again in a heart beat; you all did a fabulous job with it.
I hope they continue to do more series like this. They have such amazing chemistry.
Behind the scenes videos like this is great because it gives us, the audience, a peek at your creative processes and how you process the characters. Also, it gives a shout out to the unsung heroes like Alex.

Watching this series was honestly almost an accident but the best accident ever. I was super sick and wanted something to watch, and ended up binging the whole series in 2 days. Turned out to be my fave thing smosh has ever made. Can’t wait to watch y’all play dnd (I’ll already know the rules to that one at least!)
I cannot explain how much I loved this series as a whole, smosh introduced me to betrayal and it quickly became one of my favorites, and to see all of the characters and unique gameplay in legacy was so amazingly entertaining and lovable and it was just an amazing thing to watch from start to finish. ❤❤

shayne really is one of the smartest players and people on smosh and this really shows it - damien did brilliant in running and planning this whole game but shayne's characters were always so clever and the way he planned so far ahead. and chanse planning his characters based on the ones before!! such stellar work from the whole gang!

The episode where they fight the town is the best one. They really get into the roleplay and it made so much sense for them to try out D&D (again) next. And then everything after the 1920+ is gold.

i think i figured out why sword af didn't smack as hard as baf legacy and it's something damien said in this video, about having to play simon so many times. "it was too many times to be fun for me"
i think these 5 work so well when they're changing things up and getting to try on different hats and skills and personalities, and being bound to one character and one play style and one tone etc etc stifled just enough creativity that continuing on with it felt like more of a chore than something fun. which is a bummer, as someone that really enjoyed sword af, but it makes SENSE why it didn't work as well as this.
i do hope, at some point in the future, y'all can play more legacy games, or any sort of ongoing game with as much variety as this one. you really struck gold.

I started watching this series because the underlying haunt was intriguing. I finished watching this series because I grew attached to the families and wanted to see how they evolved over the years. There were so many perfect story arcs, like the Poppy’s and the O’Brien’s merging and splitting because of a brother’s betrayal. My favorite was the asylum, because the only sane character was the betrayer.
Chanse is quietly morphing from twink to jock before our very eyes and I'm so proud to see it. I'm so proud to see it.
I'll take Chanse in any form he wants to be in which makes him internally happy. Cause when I say I love chanse im not talking about the shell he comes in. I'm talking about whatever makes him, him. The energy, tha' heart, the mind. He just radiates the kind of energies that make me feel seen and warm AND HE IS F*CKING HILARIOUS! And I love him for all of those things.
