Samsung advertises that their 2 ton wind free AC can remove 2.5 liters of water per hour and 1.5 ton can remove 2 liters per hour. For comparison, Panasonic claims only 1.3 liters/hour and Daikin claims 1.6 liters/hour, LG 1.8 l/h, carrier 2 l/hr, blue star 2 l/hr for 1.5 ton inverter AC. If so, these AC could be better than other brands in dry mode and replace a dehumidifier completely (in theory). What has your experience been in this regard?

Hi, we have a Daikin 1.5 and BlueStar 1.5 AC's too installed in other rooms and we do not feel much difference in Dehumidification. I would say that if you are living in a hot and humid environment, you would want to go for an air conditioner (the way we do), which achieves both cooling and a reduction in humidity at the same time. If you live near the sea and in a moderate climate, then a dehumidifier makes more sense.

I've seen some Amazon reviews with pictures showing lots of water droplets forming on the indoor unit when Wind-free mode is used. I think this may be a problem in high humidity like costal areas. Have you experienced this? Do you think you can simulate a higher humidity environment using a humidifier?

I can try and simulate a higher humid environment using a humidifier. Please allow me a couple of days to work on it and I will update you once it is done.

@@azrielreviews I bought a Samsung Wind Free AC. Like some users on Amazon pointed out, the Wind-Free ACs have a serious design flaw, and it's definitely not suitable for humid environments like coastal areas. There is a reason other companies don't do this.
In Wind Free mode, there is very little airflow and the indoor unit becomes cold. This causes condensation if you live in a humid environment like coastal areas. Just like water droplets form on a cold glass. As you live in Jaipur, you did not experience this problem.
I also noticed the AC makes a rattling noise when in wind-free mode. It sounds as if the plastic body does not have good tolerances and vibrates, or maybe my unit is defective. It does not make this sound if the louvers are open. It's not loud but very annoying when sleeping at night when the room is quiet. Did you experience this?

Hi, possibly that could be the reason that I am staying in Jaipur and hence not facing issues related to Humidity and all. To be honest, I haven’t either faced the issue of rattling sound or anything. The only challenge I feel is cleaning filters and the overall indoor unit.
