  • Today was on of those days on the farm. Super hot, everything broke down the John Deere Round Baler broke a belt or two. The New Holland Stackcruser cant keep going for some reason, and the New Holland Square baler flies apart and almost kills me. The only thing working is the Versatile Tractor and chisel.

Good to see your 606, it looks good on the baler. I have a 606 gas, bought it non running at auction with 2001 IH loader. Did alot of TLC with the loader removed , now its my dedicated loader tractor.

Those are great tractors. We did the same. A couple of years ago we bought it, fixed it up and put a loader on it. Now it is our baler and mowing tractor.

Myself and 3 neighbors all help each other when we can, but today is 1 of those days that a 4 of us dealt with break downs. Remember "Farming isn't a job, it's a lifestyle! Dig it!"

Well said. I hate those days when everything you touch breaks.

One thing after the other! I'm sure it was a frustrating day in the heat!

Baling straw in June? I guess living in Canada gives a different view on things! I have had one of those weeks trying to keep old iron running on my little old farm, "Big Tractor" a Farmall 826 I normally cut and bale with, wiring harness shorted it was apparently cracked and corroded and shorted out, buggering up the starter and some other wires, ended up rewiring enough to at least get juice to the starter and charge the batteries, while the starter is at the starter rebuild shop,(CaseIH dealer wants $1100 for a new one) in the meanwhile, trying to round bale with the little 50 hp loader tractor in hill country in a heatwave, and cut with it too, and squarebale with it too...the old H has no hydraulics and can only run the hay elevator...needs an overhaul bad! I started out today to rake hay with the horses and my neighbour had a medical appt and his custom round baler guy was broke down...all 3 of his balers dead! so I left the horses in the barn, round baled for a couple of hours and got done just as showers started, turned out just a sprinkle with thunder to make it seem worse than it was, then after lunch sun out and scorching, raked for 2 hours with one team till they were pretty lathered up then changed teams and finished raking with a fresh horses, then same neighbour was square baling and needed help unloading, so spent an hour unloading by hand, then went round baling until evening on the underpowered little loader. Sure glad nothing broke today of mine, and my horses always start with no batteries...lol. It keeps me sane.
Glad to see other folks fighting the same battles and hopefully winning!

Wow, thank you for sharing that. When in rains it pours sometimes. I had no idea that people still used teams of horses, thats awesome! Farming can be very "fun" lol

Mid Midwest everything is early this year. Hopefully we’re gonna get rain as the wind and the heat is starting to take a toll

Try electronic ignition on your bale loader. Fixed seemingly good points condenser , and coil on my D17 Allis.

Will do. We finally put new points and a new condenser on that machine, and it has been working great!

Where are your PTO shields, Man?
I know of more than one guy who lost his arm or more! Please don't be one of them!

I’m guessing he’s probably aware of this as his family members are. Maybe Send some encouraging words to this young man! I’m sure he would not reject PTO shield from you!

FILES? Flies seems more correct. Turn off autocomplete and proof read.

Really not grammatically correct to start a sentence with a verb.

And may I also suggest you double take and re-read the title of this video. Don’t be a keyboard warrior and belittle someone else when you clearly can’t read.

I think the title is spelled the same way you spelled it? Maybe you should have an optometrist check your eyes?
