The thought of being trapped under rubble from a collapsed building, like those shown, is just chilling. Dust everywhere, not being able to breathe, pinned down, darkness, you can't go to a bathroom, a drink of water, the mental toll... that's a really frightening thought and I bet there's other things I haven't even thought of!

She saw with her very eyes entire buildings crunch “like a sandwich”. Even till this day she still feels chills when retelling it
I live in Santa Monica California (Los Angeles County) used to live in San Francisco. My house is new and built to current earthquake codes for California and the office I work in has been retrofitted to current California earthquake codes. I have a storm shelter with a month’s worth of food and supplies in the case of an actual earthquake emergency. I forgot to add the biggest earthquake I was in: Loma Prieta in San Francisco October 17th 1989. I was at the A’s-Giants World Series game! 15 seconds of pure adrenaline and fear! I’m glad I wasn’t on the Bay Bridge and especially not on the Cypress Expressway!
I was in the Loma Prieta quake in '89 while visiting that part of CA, and 2 F2 tornadoes as a kid in Michigan. Both are equally scary in their own right. I wish none of these on anyone. (Jan Griffiths).
I remember that earthquake. It happened on my 22nd birthday. I call it the day the Bay stood still. It was such an eerie event that happened that day. I remember running with my baby in my hands. Didn't know where I was going. I was just trying to get away from the buildings and trees🙏🏽🙏🏽

Here’s the wording from World Famous Meteorologist Gary England concerning the infamous May 3rd 1999 F-5 Tornado 🌪 to hit Bridge Creek and the city of Moore Oklahoma: Folks you will not survive above ground! I feel very fortunate living in Santa Monica although in 94 during the NorthRidge earthquake not so lucky for my parents. After the 89 earthquake my parents moved to Santa Monica I was living in San Francisco area going to Berkeley and transferred to UCLA in 95. Luckily the parents were ok but dad said it was definitely worse than 89. Of course he would know having mom and dad survive the Great Alaska earthquake in 64. I’m an Air Force brat so that’s why all the moving around. Dad retired from Edwards Air Force Base in 2007. He passed away in 2014 and mom lives with me my wife and our son. Love SoCal earthquakes and all. The price we’re willing to pay.
My family and I went on a road trip from Maryland to Alaska. A few months later the earthquake hit. I remember seeing a photo of a bureau with a mirror still attached standing up in a debris field. The mirror wasn't even cracked, but everything around it was destroyed.
Surprised there was no mention of Joplin, MO in 2011. Maybe it's too old. But they definitely should have talked about the 1896 St. Louis MO-IL tornado, that was one of the deadliest in history. It hit one of the country's largest cities (the exact scenario they'd been teasing from the beginning) which accounted for so much of the destruction. Way deadlier than the 1999 Moore tornado.
Not to old, but you are right. Very surprising. Once I got to looking, it may be because Joplin already has so many TH-cam videos about it. Not sure,, but that was my thought.
I believe Moore was the highest tornado wind speed ever measured - I do agree that Joplin should’ve made the list, at least for how quickly it formed which reduced reaction time for all the residents of the town

This is why I really like where I live. I'm on the eastern side of the US so if the San Andreas fault goes off or Yellowstone explodes I'm good. Obviously I'll be affected by Yellowstone, but who wouldn't be? I'm inland enough where hurricanes just give me a lot of rain. I'm north enough where tornadoes aren't much of an issue. I pay a crap ton in taxes but I've never lost my house so yeah, I'll take it.
Please know with tornadoes Not all giant wedges are EF-5's and not all tiny ones are EF-1's. The smaller the eye of a tornado the faster the spin. If a tornado looks to stand still and wobble or grow larger - it is coming straight at you! Don't go out and film them, seek shelter! Also tornado winds are much larger than the condensation funnel, so stay away from them!

Also, do not seek shelter under overpass and do not ignore the tornado sirens - if you wait until you actually see the tornado, it might be too late to get to safety.
22:39 I have to say this, if I were somebody who had been involved with the building of these little cluster of high rise tower blocks, or involved with the actual architecture/design of those particular buildings, ultimately, I would’ve seen the error of my design & 100% absolutely made sure not 1 single building Large or small, tall or short was ever built on that unstable soft soil ever again, coz it had caused the high rise blocks to resonate on a colossal scale, the concrete structures shook that violently - side to side, everything just vibrated itself to pieces, therefore, seeing the collapse of all buildings within that danger zone. Dah learn from mistakes, don’t keep repeating them huh!! 😅 It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see there’s many structural weaknesses in high rise towers coz the height will not tolerate the shaking! Not unless the floors are lessened in numbers & the designs upgraded in a manor way! Lives lost coz of tower blocks shaking themselves to bits during earthquakes, is a harsh lesson for any construction engineer, architect, so on & so forth! Learning from ones mistakes can save so many from losing their life in the event of an epic earthquake! We’re not living in the dark ages ya know! Revelation 16:18 (ESV), "And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and 'a great earthquake' such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake." Revelation 16:20 (ESV), "And every island fled away (liquefaction), and no mountains were to be found (liquefaction)." The Bible is describing an earthquake far more powerful than a magnitude of 10. Not only is it powerful, but it will last long enough that all the mountains on the earth will liquefy and come down and islands will liquefy and disappear into the oceans. Lahars will cover thousands of cities. No buildings on earth will be able to remain standing due to this earthquake. Dams will be destroyed. Billions of trees will fall due to liquefaction. Fires will break out all over the earth. Tsunamis will destroy most coastline cities killing millions. Billions will die.
Revelation 16:18. (KJV, much better accurate translation from the original Greek language). And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
The Day of Reckoning …19Men will flee to caves in the rocks and holes in the ground, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth. 20In that day men will cast away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and gold- the idols they made to worship. 21They will flee to caverns in the rocks and crevices in the cliffs, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth.… Berean Standard Bible · Download
Way out of date they are taking F scale plus it only takes about 160 miles or better to pick up a 3 ton truck and there are quite a few other bits of weather information that is out of date.
Most of these documentaries with old footage were filmed for television years ago. They're just uploaded here by outside channels. I've seen so many that I saw when they were new around 15-20 years ago. Most on History, Science, and Weather channels. I homeschooled my kids so those channels were a huge part of their lessons.

Warning, It is not global warming that's causing the disasters, God is angry with the sins and with the wickedness of this Earth. You can do all you want to clean up this planet, but that won't stop the disasters, you want the disasters to stop, then start repenting of your sins and invite Yeshua-Jesus into your life. Isaiah 13:11 The LORD says, "I will bring disaster on the earth and punish all wicked people for their sins.

I agree, I use this little pet peeve . Kindly and humbly, you’d do more for climate change putting God back in our lives , returning to church on Sunday , than buying a led lightbulb, or President Bidens misguided plans to make diesel illegal . God did not Design our earthly home to go full blast 24/7 . I believe petroleum products are a blessing , or a curse if our priorities are wrong. For example, what’s more important? Fuel for farmers, trucks to bring us food? Or wars, nascar, wasting it on luxury? Think about it. It’s finite. Earth is screaming for a day off too. I admonish you to read the Book of Mormon and read about it and learn for yourselves. It’s mentioned in the Bible Isaiah 29 as the sealed book. Thanks

The Bible is describing an earthquake far more powerful than a magnitude of 10.
New Madrid is on a much more ancient fault. An inland sea was crushed to nothing there. Fault; you.

The Day of Reckoning
…19Men will flee to caves in the rocks and holes in the ground, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth. 20In that day men will cast away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and gold- the idols they made to worship. 21They will flee to caverns in the rocks and crevices in the cliffs, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth.…

a repeated loop of clips. Typical of this breed of documentaries. ammeter stuff
Way out of date they are taking F scale plus it only takes about 160 miles or better to pick up a 3 ton truck and there are quite a few other bits of weather information that is out of date.

Ikr getting a bit repetitive isn’t it?
Ikr getting a bit repetitive isn’t it?
Ikr get 😅😂😅😂
Most of these documentaries with old footage were filmed for television years ago. They're just uploaded here by outside channels. I've seen so many that I saw when they were new around 15-20 years ago. Most on History, Science, and Weather channels. I homeschooled my kids so those channels were a huge part of their lessons.
Maybe so, but a lot of us find it interesting!!! If you can’t at least appreciate the effort put in …… don’t bother watching!!!!!!
A biblical experience
Build your house on a solid ground😢
Yep, just so a tornado can come along and sweep it off its foundation.
The tornado doesn't give a damn where you put your house, nor does the earthquake or tsunami. All will kick you & your house into puzzle pieces. Keep your proselytizing to yourself.
@@stormangelus6638 I don't even think it would help Johanna if she built her house on a gigantic foundation of Bibles, a tornado would still knock it down!😊

I suppose you are going to be spared God's wrath because you are less wicked because you are a Jesus follower!😮
keeping up with measurements in Hiroshima bombs is immoral and disgraceful to all innocent people died that day
They allways use the Hiroshima bombs as measurements in science. They use the bombimg of Hiroshima to compare the amount of energy released. Both in earthquakes, hurricanes, and explosions. Thats how it is, in all of the world.
@@Nick199607 it is just wrong way
Except they weren't "innocent people " they were an integral part of the Japanese war machine which got what it deserved. Man up and don't be so righteous about topics you weren't even part of
Maybe when other countries start measuring structural damage in "9/11's", Americans will get the message : ))
Thanks

42:33 TBH what's more powerful than a 9.5?🫨🤔
The only one thing that would be more powerful than a 9.5, would be a magnitude 10!😳🫨😬 and that's not counting the mega tsunami that would follow.👀😳😬🫨🥺😢😭🙏🏻
The pronunciation of New Madrid 🫣 you would think they would do their research
What have you done?
It's a British person narrating. You going to jump someone for pronouncing things the way they were born? Sthu.
They are shedding light on lives lost and warning us of potential dangers we can minimize and you are going to get bent out of shape over a pronouncing Madrid wrong? Should you not be upset with the lives lost? Be more concerned about being more prepared for natural disaster? Get over yourself and appreciate the content or leave, no one asked your miserable behind to watch the video.
That's all you got out of the video? Sad...
