Wow! What an uplifting story, and what a charming and humble gentleman. I've just come across his music and was so impressed I had to find out more about Cleve. This man is a treasure ❤.
Dr Francis is a great and special man. My father had a heart attack in 1988 or 89 and Dr Francis was my father's heart doctor (cardiologist) the rest of his life. My Dad got Parkinson's a few years later. He had a lot of different doctors over the years. Dr Francis was always his and my mother's favorite. As a kid at that time I couldn't believe how Doc had become a country star and then later came back to his practice. Here's what I'll always appreciate about Dr Francis. My mother and I had taken care of my Dad for 20 years through his Parkinson's. My mother to our surprise got cancer and died quickly about a year before Dad passed. When Mom was dying and the hospital was trying to refer questions to her cancer doctor he was on vacation and though his secretary was passing along messages to that doctor he wouldn't return his calls. It was weeks later after Mom died that he called me. That's not Dr. Francis. In Dad's last year when I was with him I saw Dr Francis multiple times at the hospital to see Dad and even when Dad was given his last 48 hours or so at the end of his life Dr Francis came and visited to check on Dad again. In a year plus long span of not seeing anything like that with different types of doctors as I became both their caretakers I can't tell you looking back how grateful I am for Dr Francis who really cared. I don't know if he'll see this but thank you so much. That was 2009 and 2010 and I was thinking about you this morning. I'm sure your caring of your patients is what made you so successful in your practice as well as that heart is what made you so successful in music. God bless you and your family and thank you again.
What a great guy....and a pretty damned good singer! The racial divide in America is totally weird. I'm 72 and, very honestly, it's something I have never understood.
