6 years ago I crashed at 100Km in a deer (at 63 years Old). I was wearing full gear. Broke a clavicule and 6 ribs. Am I correct to assume that a tech air 5 with shoulder sleeve would have prevented all broken bones?? Also what happens if Jacket does not have 4 cm ( or 1 size larger)..Will Bag still Deploy?
I can only speculate. In these cases an airbag would have great opportunity to protect against rib and spine injuries if the impact force is coming from the front or behind. I’m unsure of how well the airbag protects from the side. The clavicle is typically broken from a strong force to an outstretched hand or directly to the shoulder. So an airbag might not help all that much for that. But this is really just speculation, I don’t know for sure.
Been there done that last year, broke ribs, back trauma, and plenty of other damage, but an airbag vest absolutely would have prevented or greatly helped reduce my torso injuries. With that said, I was fully geared up and the ambulance people said it all saved my life.
Not happy with my Tech-Air 3 system. It stopped working after 3 rides. Will not turn on, will not charge. Your customer service has lacked in getting me help for a return. It seems they are too busy to get back to me after weeks of waiting. I'm NOT a happy customer.
My Tech Air 3 vest discharged last week when NOT connected and armed. Ie, the connector and zipper not engaged. Supposedly the system should have not been armed at that point. And as I removed the vest it went off. Scared the crap out of me. And it makes no sense as to why it activated as at that point it wasn't connected and on me. So now I have to contact Alpinestars and I'm sure I'll be out of however much money it will cost to have it shipped there, inspected, and repacked. I really wanted to like this as I like the concept. I've spent thousands over the years on various Alpinestars gear and my friends have even joked that I look like I'm sponsored by them. Well, I'm truly hoping they make this right. But my last interaction with them after failing to get the vest registered and the app downloaded, really doesn't give me much hope.
That’s too bad, I look like an Astars fanboy too, but the lack of service these days really makes me think about the tethered DIY types. Theoretically, you can get up and dust yourself off, repack it right there on the side of the road, screw in a new canister and be on your way with zero dollars invested. Pros and cons I guess.
it opened by itself while driving over a speed bump and after analysis, alpinestars told me that I fell... they saw on the recording that I rolled at least 10m before stopping! I call it a scam
Love how they told you what happened to you instead of listening to the problem, even in this video they mention having to disable it when things get bumpy so it's within reason a speed bump could have set it off.
I use a backrest, is there anything in the lower back are that will interfere with that? empty air bladder I can deal with.

Good afternoon What kind of back protector is suitable for this vest? And is it possible to install rigid chest protection?
I have an older suit. I want to know if the tech air is compatible with sp-1 race suit

I’m about to buy one , now I’m scared it’ll deploy on me😂 I can only imagine how far you jumped when it randomly went off

All very well disconnecting or turning off on trails, but as there’s no back protector if you come off, you’ve had it.
In this one you can add a protector. Or wear one in your jacket if you want.

Had the same thing happen to me
