"Meta" is never fun in any game. Gets boring seeing the same shit all the time, then again some people live for monotony.
Facts
Main reason I abuse the Auto Backup loadout and keep my three saved load outs unchanged - they can serve the purpose when the time comes (One "meta" build, a medic build, and a specifically anti-Broly build only kept due to the possibility of a round start spawn rush), but in the meantime I'm gonna enjoy the variety of skills the game has to offer
Personal favorites have gotta the running and the rider builds: running build being where I throw all three movespeed passives with sprint together and add Cook in the actives, swear that it feels like I have LDN speeds when Cook is up. As for rider, it's all three driver skills with Barrier Auto Rec with at least Bulma Bike and Nimbus - never know when you'll need a ride, plus the ride gets to take a shot for me
Fun one I sometimes do is my fish build - Swimming Savant and Jump (Water), feels nice to zip through water when I get the chance

Hating barrier IT is fine. But I mean the raider has to be trash to fall to grapple alone. Unless it’s grapple, hide, and then it.

This is the daily stuff we get on pc, at least by seeing your games (on PS right?) it's way more frequent, my raider games are 7 out of 10 games seeing the same names over and over again, even a 3 players premade is enough as long as they know what they do with barrier IT, and the rise on Inmortal champion doesnt help, no one wants to be the "feeder" on the team but Ho boy seeing 5 surv fly to the other side of the map on the match either by barrier IT or inmortal gets into you really fast, even more when you beat your ass for what it should have been a confirmed down or two

I constantly lost people as Cell. I can't follow someone to save my life. I got the search ability constantly on cooldown cause I can't follow lol

To win against premades I 95% of the time have to camp the bodies even as the ginyu force.... standing over 2 bodies for 90 seconds is retribution for getting jumped as my goat guldo

Camping bodies means you are bad in game. Ironcane never camps you can see in his gameplays.
I even it out even a little bit, EB should be able to be broken by melee from the Raider. Let it stop all ki blasts but if the Raider punches you, the shield goes away while letting you keep the normal player barrier. Something to incentive the raider to not just ki spam

I think what's funny about this is that the team doing the "Level 0 Challenge" in the last video weren't even using barrier + IT.

Games stop being fun once there's a meta. Nobody is really playing creatively anymore, and you'll always lose for the same reason

I can't remember the last time I used barrier-IT, I can hardly remember the last time I even used barrier
Most games that have a super optimal meta aren’t usually the most fun. I like games where there isn’t an extremely overbearing meta, rather a strong meta that has its flaws and can be circumnavigated with other really strong options
It’s a longevity thing, players that stick with the game find the “best” skills, new players try to copy them. You absolutely can run non-optimal skills, even just picking one transphere for all three levels and choosing all of their passives and actives can make fun to use builds. But gamers are pretty focused on optimization, especially if there’s a score attached to their name, I.E ranked.
Edit: Barrier Bike is still fun to use, and you can get away a good chunk of the time, especially if you run Expert Driver Speed and Expert Driver Jump. But since Barrier IT has more uses than just to escape, and is much simpler to use: it won’t get chosen as meta.
I think it’s just got out of hand completely. Like there’s never a “normal” type game.
If you try going east on the survivors as raider even a little bit. They do all the key rushing, have stuns or immortal champion and things like that to escape.
Then they want to jump you or go crazy on stm. So then a lot of raiders (particularly broly’s) go crazy in the beginning and then you have to deal will try hard plays from raiders.
So it’s like both sides are so hell bent on winning and doing anything Necessary to make the experience hell.
And it’s like something a gotta give.
Survivors are in try hard mode, cause you don’t know if you’ll get an aggressive mode raider.
But then raiders also are in try hard mode, cause you might get try hard survivors or premades who dont care about your points or having fun with the game for once.
Barrier should have a life bar and a time limit.
So either the time runs out or the Raider can do enough damage to break the survivor barrier. To go further certain Raider moves can deal over excess damage breaking both barriers or break the active skill barrier and down the survivor.
What if we did the stun group challenge but 1 person had your all going to pay and super spirit bomb.

I just finished this video and then immediately got a match like this... I was cell and got 1 civ and after finding 5 dudes who immediately barrier + IT away from i just quit. They had the time machine out and all civs gone in 3 minutes while i just hit level 2... There needs to be a casual mode man I'm tired of being forced to play sweaty every match...
As a forever solo queue player I'll be the first to say. You don't need Energy Field nor Instant Transmission. I don't even have I.T. and I win games as much as I lose. Maybe more so. The losses either being matches of just bad games going wrong or someone (including me) making a bad mistake at the wrong time.
E.F.+I.T. is a clutch. So is Immortal Champion. Both things just encourage you to play sloppy or stupid. To take unnecessary risks and get rewarded hard for it. That won't teach you to be a good player. It'll teach you to be reckless and when you don't have those moves, feel helpless. I hope one day they'll realize these clutch moves are not healthy for the game nor for new players and change them for the better. But considering how slow the yare to nerf anything, I'm sadly doubting it.

They actually pair you with your survivor rank if you're over lvl 100 for survivors

Barrier + IT + IC is such a flaccid and boring way to play the game. I can't blame Ironcane got getting even a little tilted over this game.

I have been blocking IT & Barrier. This type of players aren't really good enough at the game. new players in other hand are welcome. But I agree. They are annoying to deal with.

The most simple fix is that barrier shouldn’t be able be combined with any other active skill otherwise it turns off or at least make barrier+It not work. I can see these two abilities getting nerfed to hell like Bulma bike.

What I hate is when I play rounds as a Survivor with feeders and ETM players, and when I get the Raider game, I get placed with the premade team.
Idk bro, seems pretty fair and balanced to me 😂. I feel like they should make it to where you cant use another active skill while barrier is active OR make the barrier go away early if you use another active ability
How Meta is "Fun" is the real question.
I don't mind a meta setup on one guy or anything. The problem for me is the fact that most likely everyone in my lobby is going to use it all at once, and at that point, it's tedious as hell for both the raider and the survivors.

I think anyone who relies on skills like that will become a bad player over time, but those skills are in the game and anyone who gets upset about them is a loser. If you can still win these games, then the victory is much more valuable and that's actually what counts.

I agree with all the points you made in the video, survivors have had the game tilting in their favor for a long time now and i dont see it changing anytime soon because of the devs. And its sad because premades like this one will talk the most shit after scraping a win barely lol.
I stopped using IT and immortal champion because it makes raiders more angry than escaping any other way.

The problem is there is nothing you can do as raider and it takes zero skill as survivor. Really boring and takes no effort at all.

Keys also be gettin’ found *real* quick. But Energy Barrier and Unconscious Control are both in a pretty crazy spot.
Immortal champion is everything it promised to be, unless you forgot you had it and crash 6ft away from where you launched, like I still manage to. :P

I will say this team was trash and legit using Barrier + IT damn man, legit with PC there are premade who sure run immortal champion, stuns but some actually have skill and just some small fix it. You played well but the end you should have gone for eliminating all players like you mention at least for me if I am in that spot I kill everyone and not worry about it, since legit they are gonna keep sweating and Barrier + IT will shine. Stil they were not good, they legit were a sad premade carried by two buttons, level 4 got cook real easy, and legit others who were just spamming supers and look how they ended up. Really this isn't fun it is more of like, oh I won but I got hard carried by a combo that compensate for my lack of Skill. Legit. Really a shame and then gloat about it like they were winning the entire match when you legit had a huge comeback and would have won, if this was any other premade dude legit they would have swept and seal the deal and even manage they're dragon change to win it all. So they played worst than others and legit nearly lost and it wasn't because of them necessarily it was a simple mistake on your end. if that is what decides it, then I don't know I wouldn't like think it is fun to win like that because it takes away from the actual moments where people truly showcase some great wins with incredible skills.
9:04 Why does EF allow a super move to pass through it if the survivor is firing it. If a stronger attack can’t penetrate EF a super move much weaker shouldn’t pass through it.
EF is a crutch skill
Barrier IT is prob never going to be fixed just countered by the newer raiders. Barrier IT is probably never going to leave. The devs have known about it since S1 and they even nerfed spopo from countering barrier IT.
Honestly, everything would be fixed if they made IT take an extra second to track so it cant be used with Barrier. Hell, making Barrier's cooldown way longer is also a good option.
Man i do love dragon ball the breakers but i face the problem of barrier, instant transmission and especially orange piccolo builds which ruins the game alot for raiders...

hello can you make a tutorial for Cell so that players can play it correctly by teaching them to get ahead of the players, beat the Sheron transformations, kill as many survivors as possible and most importantly don't forget to absorb them with the finish 2 of Imperfect Cell and Semi perfect a male and a female before the perfect form. Since there are too many skills and invocations, the finishes through absorption have decreased

Imagine you're the raider and you come across a pre-made and everytime you find them and is about to kill them, they pop EF and use IT and they easily escape or immortal champion is used and they get sent flying. Minutes later you find them again but they use EF+IT again, later you find them and fight them this time, and they go down immediately because they are bad at fighting. Or you drop a dragon ball and they pick it up and immediately EF+IT out and summon shenron and you lose because of it, EF+IT+IC is a get out of jail free card.
