Yep. It goes both ways. I used to keep my sw and fw stuff all separate. Not anymore. Frogs in the marsh, vudoo shrimp in the lakes, creature baits everywhere, interchangeable topwater walkers, lipless cranks inshore, and it all gets thrown with the same rod and reel arsenal

Hot damn! I've had a selection of "Millie's Bucktaills" in my box for well over a decade. Where did you find the stash? She's been gone for quite a while.

I always carry bucktail, of all sizes, in my tackle bag. And I have to admit that I only started using them after watching John Skinner's bucktailing videos. Even though I haven't hooked a giant striper with them, I have had a lot of fun catching schoolies.

I don't know, I'm not a scientist, but I once read somewhere that the hair actually makes it's own kind of noise when it's in the water. Done a lot of striper fishing at night and bucktails are always effective.

Interesting. I guess that makes sense since it's a different type of material.

I was fishing for Walleye in upstate NY in a creek. I tried everything, no luck .I took a bucktail jig ,topped it with a worm and caught a huge Walleye. Lol.

John Paduano and Skinner made me a true believer on fishing bucktails. They don’t add scent to their bucktails, I wonder if it would have a negative effect on the undulation of the hairs.

Spro bucktails are simply amazing. Took a 1 ounce white spro and and scored quality Lake Tahoe Mackinaw(Lake trout) and the same lure worked on striped bass, halibut, White seabass, ling cod, and rockfish from the Monterey bay in calif.

And another thing is that buck tails glow under UV light and I believe it is easier for fish to see.

My Costa Rican fishin' buddies used bucktails to troll for small yellowfin tunas one day, until the hair was all pulled out. Then I broke out my regular trolling lures for them to use. But they caught 10 or 15 each on white bucktails, probably 1/4 oz.

The bucktail is the only lure that will catch as many different species as a live shrimp. I don't think anything else comes close to it. Maybe the power prawn but I haven't used them that much and for as long as a bucktail. Flarehawks also a fav lure of mine.

What about spoons? I've been doing research and it seems like bucktails and spoons are the most versatile lures.

This is one lure I've never used. I need to get a couple to have on hand apparently!

They are ubiquitous for East Coast beach fishing, but for some reason they aren't super popular down on the Gulf Coast. If a guy says he is fishing for fluke, he's probably got a bucktail somewhere. If he says he is fishing for flounder, he might not.
