Journey To Peace Within
This music is a simple offering for peace in the world.
And when I ask myself what can I actually do to promote peace in this crazy world, I come back again to the shakuhachi flute.
Playing the shakuhachi has been the principal support for me in my life in showing the way to access a place of centred calmness within, and I know from experience of playing in concerts and receiving feedback that the shakuhachi also helps others to find a way to access peacefulness amidst the madness of the world.
This album is an offering to anyone out there struggling with disturbance, agitation, unrest and feelings of helplessness. I hope the sounds and silence of the shakuhachi will help in some small way to plant seeds on your journey to peace within.

The shakuhachi has deep roots in Buddhist practice and has it's own specific repertoire from that world - my own music comes from a more universal place in my soul, but the essence of the Mayahana is a large part of this., and I fell happy that you could connect to it in this way 🌸

@@adrianfreedmanmusic Hi Adrian. I am from Quebec(Canada). To resume here, having spenI my life as a pro musician, I always learn new things all by myself. I have always practicaly study any new thing, by listening to everyone who I feel inspired by, and so your own approaches to shakuhachi sound, have been very present in my mind, because the quality of sound is prioritary as far as I am concerned. To me it has been a kind of difficult road, having lost all of my teets 3 years ago, but it forced me to analyse every single little details about the awarness of the embouchure and the importance of conscious breathing. My goal is simply to have my last breath while ''blowing zen''. Eventhoug, I've learned maybe a dozen hongkyoku, I concentrate mainly on all the different articulations available, and on the simple meditative way. I have many flutes, but my best is a 1.8 Gyokushui, who has been my own personal sensei. And again soundwise, one of the best influence I had in these aspects, has been to this day, your own playing and awarness of the shakuhachi realm. 🙏☺
