Legacy Machine Perpetual: Complexity simplified with integrity and beauty - MB&F

  • Beginning with a blank sheet of paper, MB&F and independent Irish watchmaker Stephen McDonnell have completely reinvented that most traditional of horological complications: the perpetual calendar.
The result is Legacy Machine Perpetual, featuring a visually stunning in-house movement, which was developed from the ground up to eliminate the drawbacks of conventional perpetual calendars.
The fact that the new complication looks sensational and can be fully appreciated dial-side is just one of the many benefits offered by the new (patent pending) mechanical processor controlled movement.

To have the balance wheel so predominant seen is a great inspiration and to have the linked lever and the escape wheel harmoniously doing their dancing rhythm so visibly, gives the observer a pleasant sensation of how one can achieve harmony even when a team of components contribute to a different action to produce the final perfect function.

    Gorgeous piece of engineering.
I wonder if they develop a simulator for their watch before building it? To find out if it actually does what is expected.

Hi everyone ! I work for a watch brand in Switzerland and as far as I know ,3 of the most common softwares are: Autodesk Inventor, Creo Parametric and Catia wich allows us to draw the whole movement in 3D and simulations.
