This was great, thank you. The same thing happened to my Scissor and now I can fix them - although I definitely can’t get anything at my local hardware shop for $.16! Lucky I’ve got some old screws and nuts lying around the house.
The bolt is too small for the hole, you should have bought it one size larger (in diameter). It will be difficult to make clean cuts in a straight line like this. And you could have dremeled the screw before putting it in the scissors, that way you wouldn't have destoyed the poor handles.

oh well. still have this pair of scissors with this fix working up to this day. are there better ways to have done it? maybe. but this still works.

It’s getting unscrewed by and by. I then use a smaller screw to lessen the friction. It holds now

Cool, but I would rather watch how to do it with the Ikea scissors, as this seems more tricky than just installing a screw in a hole.
