I shake my head every time Nick has to compete with lots of people touring the yacht he’s trying to document. If I were a builder, I’d absolutely close off the yacht for a bit to allow for such a fantastic video tour. Nick’s videos are a great sales tool for the company. Kudos to Grand Banks for having the smarts to give him exclusive access.
I love watching these videos too and agree that Nick does a superb job presenting them, but the reality is that I'm extremely unlikely to be a buyer of a multi million dollar yacht but the guests at the boat show might be.
Can’t say I’m a big fan of the boat’s profile (looks like a giant Florida fishing boat) BUT the layout, fit & finish is just superb, really impressive! Great tour Nick 👍🏻
It did not look that impressive from the back at first but once you started the tour then WOW what a beautiful yacht, so much room and great use of space, really impressed with it. Brilliant tour Nick thank you.
I can never see my bank account letting me anywhere near most of the yachts that Nick reviews, but Grand Banks always strikes me as a combination of being thoughtful, well-crafted and conservatively-styled (not a tacky, 'bling' interior).
That was an awesome tour by Nick. They closed off the boat, so he probably could have taken more time but Nick being Nick gave us a full tour of the yacht in ample time. Two dishwashers awesome and all the refrigerators. The only thing I would change is I would have the owners cabin full beam
That is one very beautiful yacht, I love the up to date styles that GB have incorporated into what is a very traditional brand. Absolutely top draw tour Nick awesome 👌
Beauty! I cannot express how relieved I am the wood finish isn't high gloss, that one thing makes or breaks me. 👍 Great job Nick, the words out, give Nick personal time.
The high gloss finish for me makes any yacht look incredibly naff - The aft doors and dinner table doesn't need it especially with those bold GB in the middle of it!
i like the gloss... until someone touches it. turns into a cat and mouse game always trying to wipe down the fingerprints. non-gloss finishes also look great and dont look unkept after a day.
It's like buying an old victorian house and kitting it out with furniture from poundland like those awful glass tv stands they used to sell lol! If your going to spend anywhere between a million and ten on a decent sized family yacht your not going to want it looking tacky! I feel the same about flybridges lol decent shaped hull and nearly always they slap them on top willy nilly like they're an after thought! Just a nag me lol 😆
I haven’t seen many grandbanks, but i am pleasantly surprised by them. Certainly a high level of quality for the price as well! It’s a great thing that Grand Banks gave u free roam of the boat it makes a huge difference although is entertaining when a boat is packed! Amazing tour as usual thanks Nick.
Hey Nick I am very impressed with the crew area in this boat it is on par with the cabins and the galley position also allows the crew to get the best views while working, it's great to see yachts of this calibre alongside entry level boats on your channel have a great day bud
I would like to mention also that the crew area is accessible from the main deck. So many times you see the only entry is from the bathing platform and even opens up pretty awkwardly. Imagining if you're on long journey, in bad weather and middle of sea and you would want to access it, it is made for that on this boat. Almost like superyacht style. I'm just wondering can this yacht turn into owner operated or does it need a captain? I know the limit is 24 meters usually but I think there are some loopholes to bypass that in some degree.
Superb boat, as expected from GB. They seem to have a way of giving a choice between economy and speed, so you get a lot of versatility for your millions. Nice to see boat companies according Aquaholic the preferential treatment you deserve!
It's quite interesting they decided to put teak in the engine room. From a quality perspective, it seems comparable to the princess x series, but with a more traditional downeast style that Grand Banks is known for. There is a lot of carbon fiber on this boat as well which contributes to the price point. There's also a utility room underneath the forward passageway to the VIP which contains a large amount of engineering space. Lastly, there are side access doors to both of the engines right behind the surfboards in the toy storage. Awesome walk through and beautiful boat. Thank you!
Brilliant tour as always. Great choice. This boat is in my top 5 dream boat list with long range and innovative design, which allows up to 50% fuel economy compared with similar boats. It was on a few other channels already. If memory serves right, the 4th cabin with the bunks is for the owner's grand kids, otherwise the owner's cabin is usually full beam. There's a hidden electric piano in there too. Apart from the garage and separate engine rooms, there's another technical room for some other equipment i.e. a water maker. Shaft drive option might be the choice of long range cruisers over IPS drives for simplicity and low maintenance reasons. Overall, a great quality boat, which comes unfortunately at a price.
It seems to me that a lot of the comments here are about the price of this fine ship. While I don't know a lot about Grand Banks as a builder I do know that building a yacht IS extremely expensive and a lot of the differences in prices say from one builder of an 85 foot boat to another depends on the quality of both the tech areas (engine choice etc.) and the guest/hotel areas. Nick your friend David Steele(Yachts for Sale TH-cam channel) has done some great videos concerning exactly this subject and they have given me a whole new insight into yachts and how expensive they seem at first glance. I'm sure you would agree witrh me when I say after watching your video tours viewers should go and watch David's excellent blogs. As always Nick, a great tour and an excellent choice of boat. Thank you very much.
You at first think she's not a big boat but then you get inside and discover a well planned spacious inside. Like the kitchen at the front of the salon. The upper deck with the helm again is a well planned helm area, then the space not cluttered. The second dishwasher is very useful no broken crockery as you try to get down the stairs to the kitchen. The crew area is comfortable leading to toys. Love the idea of two separate engine rooms capable of near 2,000 nautical miles. Lazy days relaxing cruising.
Really like the use of separate engine spaces & still plenty of space to get at each. I do like the styling and furnishing perhaps the wet bar on the upper deck might be a bit redundant when there's one literally right next to it inside. As always Nick thanks for the tour 👍
Unlike many big yachts, this has a layout that feels more casual. It invites a bit of meandering. Third day of a trans oceanic voyage, a bit of meandering offers a wonderful respite from the safety of fixed routines. Exceptionally nice boat. Thanks to Grand Banks and thanks again to you, Nick, for this tour - and your video meandering...
Hi Nick, GB and trawler boats would be my first choice if ever the euro lottery came up for me. That's a boat/ship you can load up and get lost for months at a time, non of the plastic gin palace stuff that never leaves a marina 😎 Cheers DougT
Nick, I love everything about this boat! The overall layout is fantastic, the recreational areas and cabin placement are well-though-through and the crew area is very well done. Plus, the enclosed flybridge helm is complimented by the ability to manouver alongside from the pop-up helm station in the galley--Brilliant (and so very handy). The separate engine compartments may incorporate a hidden benefit and be a life saver if ever there was a fire since extinguishing a fire in one compartment would leave the other engine space fully operational to get you home. Great tour as always; You walk us through with clarity and chronology everytime! Thanks!
I always liked Grand Banks, well designed and thought out. The Eastbay 60 should be interesting when it’s properly launched as it were. Their CEO has done a fantastic job in trying to bring the company and brand forward. I’m not so keen on the Sky lounge but I can see why it would be popular. My all time favourite was the 52 Europa, it was what boat should be. Thanks for the video (10/10)
Hi Nick, And a hugh thanks to you for this nice show of this stunning yacht from Grand Banks the 85 what a boat this is, the first time I see a show of this one on MBY a few months a go I think in the top 10 of new boats this year Thanks again Nick a great show
I think we're going to see that engine layout with storage between copied by other builders soon - it makes an enormous amount of sense. It's not the cheapest boat out there but it is a true mini-super yacht, both in design (three true levels) and features. Thanks for showing us this one! (And thanks to GB for clearing the boat for you, although that's the way it should be!)
Hatteras had a series in the late 70's and 80's which had seperate engine rooms. For sure the 53 and 58 ft. Hatteras yachts in that year range had them... I had a 53 ft Yachfisher which had them...
Wow! Another fantastic boat from the Grand Banks range of explorer yachts and this flagship is no exception, tons of storage and hidden gems on this boat. Well done nick it's a lovely tour as usual but too big for us sub 24 metre skippers to even contemplate though.
Brilliant tour as always and great to see GB giving you the credit you’ve earned and closing it off for you. I loved parts of the boat like the engine rooms and the crew cabin, but some where underwhelming like the master which isn’t quite full beam (I guess you could lose the fourth cabin and move the master head in there?).
Beautiful boat, love the fit/finish, the color scheme, attention to detail(teak in the engine room!!) That pilot house on the top level is pretty dang trick as well, love that space up there(but two bars is a bit overkill). However I think the layout is a bit wonky, if you were to be an owner/operator or cook your own meals. I don't like be isolated in the galley, I'd have put that dining table up at the front of the boat and the galley in the middle, kept it all open so you can see thru the front window from the salon, sit at the dining table and look out the back/side windows. Also I'd nix that ensuite head in the double bed cabin. There is another head just down the hall with a shower. Make that cabin and the VIP a bit bigger or have a nice walk in closet/storage or whatever.
Stunning vessel - Not entirely sure I agree with the overpricing mentioned! Incredible layout and love that helm totally gorgeous! That wood was perfect (Not keen on the aft doors and dinner table) but the rest of it is Sublime but this is personal touches of cause! Fabulous tour as always especially as its a lunch time viewing 👌 I would like to see more hard tops and hear from your lovely wife and her favourites! Otherwise totally agree very elegant indeedy 🙂 I would actually like to see them do an 85 in the 'express' line!
Have always loved this style of boat . Just says safe. Just watched some of your earlier videos Nick and mr word you have certainly becone more relaxed and professional in your work. Love it.
I like many things about this yacht, one of which is the divided engine compartments, but I did have some questions about that space. When you left the engine compartment you commented on it being warm in there. I didn’t see fans or vents in the tour. Were they there? I didn’t see a stabilizer, or a shore power converter, or a water maker either. Were they there and you just couldn’t show them because you were rushed? Or did the space between the engine units eliminate the ability to have them onboard? Not having those items makes me question the ability to be an offshore vessel.
Agreed,
Nick knows how to show a boat.
Manufacturers should be clamoring for a glint of Nick's camera.
I love watching these videos too and agree that Nick does a superb job presenting them, but the reality is that I'm extremely unlikely to be a buyer of a multi million dollar yacht but the guests at the boat show might be.
Agreed. 💯👍.
Yeah, the way Nick showcases these boats is basically an advertisement.
Amen
Can’t say I’m a big fan of the boat’s profile (looks like a giant Florida fishing boat) BUT the layout, fit & finish is just superb, really impressive! Great tour Nick 👍🏻
As someone who loves to cook. I love that they’ve made the windows for the kitchen facing forward. Really cool.
I've been looking forward to the Aquaholic treatment of this boat. Thanks to GB for letting Nick have the boat to himself for this.
It did not look that impressive from the back at first but once you started the tour then WOW what a beautiful yacht, so much room and great use of space, really impressed with it. Brilliant tour Nick thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can never see my bank account letting me anywhere near most of the yachts that Nick reviews, but Grand Banks always strikes me as a combination of being thoughtful, well-crafted and conservatively-styled (not a tacky, 'bling' interior).
Nick, Grand banks are always such gorgeous boats. And the craftsmanship is impeccable.
This is stunning. When Grand Banks finally makes a forward entertainment area part of those design they will have something really, really special.
This one was worth rewatching!
That was an awesome tour by Nick. They closed off the boat, so he probably could have taken more time but Nick being Nick gave us a full tour of the yacht in ample time. Two dishwashers awesome and all the refrigerators. The only thing I would change is I would have the owners cabin full beam
I think that was Owner Spec for their Grandchildren (IIRC). Otherwise it would be with 3 Cabins.
Even though I saw this boat a few times last year, I still watched it because you do such a great job and have a unique perspective
I really like the layout on this one. Beautifully finished as well. A home on the water.
Agreed, I think overly glossy finishes tend to make the interiors look very gaudy, like something out of a Vegas showroom.
i like the gloss... until someone touches it. turns into a cat and mouse game always trying to wipe down the fingerprints. non-gloss finishes also look great and dont look unkept after a day.
Grand Banks has always put forth a lovely product.
When even the engines have their own nice little rooms, you know you're on a classy boat!
I like the layout of this one. the Galley and toy store /engine rooms was excellent.
Very nice yacht. Myself, I’d be perfectly content with the crew quarters. And, yes. Splitting the engines into two rooms is a grand idea. 👍👍
That's a beautiful boat.
A snorter of a boat. Grand Banks sure do know how to put an offshore cruiser together. Thanks for sharing, Nick.
Thanks for watching!
A great boat to cruise the Med in, very clever use of all the space and a decent crew area.
Hey Nick I am very impressed with the crew area in this boat it is on par with the cabins and the galley position also allows the crew to get the best views while working, it's great to see yachts of this calibre alongside entry level boats on your channel have a great day bud

Fantastic tour of an incredible boat. Definitely impressed. Dare I say Ooh Betty!
A beautiful and well thought-out vessel- possibly my favourite so far. The crew area is roomy & more than functional...
Superb boat, as expected from GB. They seem to have a way of giving a choice between economy and speed, so you get a lot of versatility for your millions. Nice to see boat companies according Aquaholic the preferential treatment you deserve!
That docking station is pretty clever! 👍👍
There are so many elements to like about this boat. If you want to go a long way, this would be a good choice. Thanks for another great tour Nick.
Our pleasure!
LOVE the split engine arrangement and the spacious crew area. Another fine Grand Banks product.
Wow, this is a very cool boat, great layout, beautiful interior and 3 decks, I want one!
Love that helm forward kitchen. Seems like a nice place to do some cooking.
It's quite interesting they decided to put teak in the engine room. Awesome, unconventionel and clever use of space. And it looks efficient and goes really far.
Very nice. Great crew area on a boat this size and the engine room / toy store is very clever.

Now im curious of where all the other equipment is like water maker gyro great video as usual!!!!!!!!
Something very glamorous about that design

Cracking boat, yet another “wish list addition”. Thanks for the tour. Good to see crew area so well designed and spec’d.
been waiting for you to tour this one. I love this GB85, very classy. thanks for showing us this nick, cheers!
Masterclass in boat building.
It's a great relief to see some CLASS & ELEGANCE!
So much class and practicality, at a price :)
That is a very cool yacht! Great tour Nick! Thanks.
Hi Nick, GB and trawler boats would be my first choice if ever the euro lottery came up for me. That's a boat/ship you can load up and get lost for months at a time, non of the plastic gin palace stuff that never leaves a marina 😎 Cheers DougT
Very, very nice.
Really like the 2 separate engine rooms, great use of space.

One of the most beautiful and well laid-out yachts I've seen on your channel Nick. Thanks for the all-points tour!
My pleasure!
I loved the fit and finish of those bathrooms, not sure if it was the wood on the floor or what. Great video as always.
twin engine compartments is a great idea . Thanks Nick
I am surprisingly smitten by this boat. well done. like the drive the boat from the kitchen feature.
Closed off for Aquaholic. Now thats how it's supposed to be done! Well done Grand Banks. Not like the last one....
I LOVED this boat. And the tour was perfect as usual!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I do love the detail ,absolutely beautiful yacht
Absolutely loved this boat. That helm area, wow. Lots of wows actually. Thanks very much Nick.
My pleasure!

GB! Always great boats. Beautiful interior, and incredible craftsmanship.
Beautiful yacht. Seemed to have a lot of fridges 😊
Hi Nick, And a hugh thanks to you for this nice show of this stunning yacht from Grand Banks the 85 what a boat this is, the first time I see a show of this one on MBY a few months a go I think in the top 10 of new boats this year Thanks again Nick a great show
Many thanks!
Note the inboard sides of the engines have removable walls, into the "toy store", for easy access to both sides of the engines.
lovely boat! Lovely tour!
Many thanks!

Hi Nick. A stunning boat. An established brand, 5 ensuite cabins. Like the idea of split engine rooms. Great walkthrough Thanks 😊
My pleasure!
"...all very nice and get-at-able."!! (13:50)
.
Love your videos Nick!
Very nice, it's apparent that the cost is in the quality here, it all looked absolutely top notch
One of the reasons I also watch BoatTEST is (being in the US) they tour so many of these American boats.
This is a spectacular yacht. Perfect size to live aboard and do some serious cruising in any weather. Loved this video, Nick.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beauty of a yacht there! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍
Thanks Nick! Great tour!
That is the nicest crew quarters I have ever seen on an 85 foot boat. Wow!
Beautiful, especially the interior.
Exquisite. Just my style. Can’t imagine a better way to spoil ten million. Just enough room for housekeeping
and a good nutritionalist.
Hatteras had a series in the late 70's and 80's which had seperate engine rooms. For sure the 53 and 58 ft. Hatteras yachts in that year range had them...
I had a 53 ft Yachfisher which had them...
Beautiful boat. This one and the Nordhavn 120 are my favorites! Great video as always! Thanks ❤
Thanks for watching!
Wow! Another fantastic boat from the Grand Banks range of explorer yachts and this flagship is no exception, tons of storage and hidden gems on this boat.
Well done nick it's a lovely tour as usual but too big for us sub 24 metre skippers to even contemplate though.
Did that boat have auto-pilot control in the kitchen? That's pretty awesome! And teak floor in the engine room is just icing on the cake.
Crazy nice, for a crazy amount of money. Everything looks like absolute quality in this boat. Very nice.
I've been looking for a word and i think i found it, Magnificent !!!!
I like the classic styling.
Hi Nick , just wondered if you fancy doing a video explaining the hot water and how it is done on different boats , keep up the good work sir 👍

Have always loved this style of boat . Just says safe.
Just watched some of your earlier videos Nick and mr word you have certainly becone more relaxed and professional in your work. Love it.
Awesome, thank you!
Possibly the second best view from the vessel and therefore I will install a sink! Also, a lack of outdoor space.
Lovely yacht. Very classy.
Great classic yatch.
Great boat and nice to see a good crew area nice tour Nick 👍
Hello. Very nice looking yacht! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
What a terrific $7 million yacht…….yours for $9 million ? 😮 . Nicely presented by Nick the best presenter in the business!
Thanks for giving him the time I appreciate it
I love the salon on this one and they color scheme is very nice. It's a beautiful yacht. Thank you Nick.
Glad you like it!
Beautiful! Love this one. Brilliant tour.👍🏻
Many thanks!
They put about everything that they could into that boat without making it look crowded…great space utilization.
Nice boat but I preferred the Cranchi you reviewed yesterday for a fraction of the price
