@ab1962Rct. Clickbait. No analysis of the headline problem. It’s a puff for Claire Fox and her puzzling a ragbag of ideas. She has poor communication skills. Endless “Ya knows” ‘it was likes”,, and “kind of”s. She was all over the place. No attempt at coherence, analysis, or drawing together of themes. A classic bore , the sort that traps you on the bus. I had listened to some of the Radio 4 programmes a generation ago, but she hasn’t achieved anything since then. Even now it’s just plans for meetings and tie-ups. Is this just a puff for Reform.? Like. Ya know what I mean. Well no, actually . I’m still in the dark -wondering what just happened. But my ears are ringing, like when you’ve been in a high wind you’re glad to get inside.

      No fear in banging up
      TOMMY ROBINSON
      For a non criminal offence
      I saw one judge
      THREATEN
      One person
      With a
      TEN POUND fine for CONTEMPT
      And not
      Years in prison
      And a fine
      80 000 POUNDS
      So
      Who was BEHIND THIS
      Even the judge SAID
      The PUNISHMENT
      Was too much
      And watered it down
I am thinking here of that famous phrase
      THE BUCK STOPS HERE
      Last time it meant
      IMPEACHMENT
      Will HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF?

I welcome the attention and scrutiny of this stain on our country and I am so grateful that Claire has spoken out again on this terrible abuse and injustice but would a national enquiry actually do any good? What difference did it make re Hillsborough, what difference will Grenfell or the Post Office enquiry make? Those to blame escape punishment in this country, especially the powerful - Things must change

What annoys me is the social workers, council officials and police etc wandering around who in some cases actually enabled the sex trafficking who are protected by a conspiracy of silence. There was one social worker who attended the Muslim wedding of her underage (15) client to her abuser. The local authority later confirmed the adoption of the girl by her new in-laws. There is absolutely no reason legally speaking why a police force could not find the name of the social worker and all those involved in the adoption and prosecute them for sex trafficking. If they did some digging they would likely find even more dubious stuff going on.

So what about this then ?
"Senior civil servants and ministers spent more than a decade covering up evidence that links the actions of a government department with hundreds, and probably thousands, of deaths of disabled people who relied on the social security system."
"Documents secured through freedom of information requests, inquest reports, and investigations by bereaved family members show how the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) destroyed incriminating records, failed to share crucial evidence with its own independent reviewers and grieving relatives, and even lied to a coroner."
Oh but that's just disabled people, no one cares about them ?

Sadly I would not be surprised if this has gone on for 50+ years and worse it is happening nationwide even today. Unfortunately the longer a problem is ignored the harder it is to fix. Let's hope we can now put a stop to this and name and shame all those that did nothing to stop it when they should have.

I'm sick and tired of hearing how authorities were scared or failed the victims.
    This was not failure!
It was a conscious decision to ignore the rape of minors . I don't want a public enquiry to I want criminal prosecution of everyone who aided and abetted the rape of children. Including Starmer because even if his incompetence was why he did nothing or knew nothing and head of CPS he knows know and is still doing nothing and is therefore guilty!

He also (with BBC "evidence") went after the BNP leader with a huge prosecution on many charges in an attempt for making also "racist" accusations about grooming. But the Jury found the guy innocent - presumably because the allegations about grooming gangs were true. So "the English are inherently violent" Straw lost the case but the delay and far right label meant the stories were suppressed. Jack Straw was an anti English racist who hid grooming gang problems, so a confession near the end not enough.

      @ac1646 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@andrewcole4843 I have read your comment several times. So you are saying after years of ignoring the issue, then pursuing it as a 'far-right' conspiracy, he had a change of heart but it was too little too late?

    • @andrewcole4843
      @andrewcole4843 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

@@ac1646 Straw knew about grooming, tried to bury it by false prosecution of the guy who was complaining and failed to heed what the jury had decided. Only later admitting the problem anyway and got away with that as the media did not cover the trial outcome because it did not fit the agenda. Its very complicated to explain the history of politics at the time as the BNP were not nice either to say the least but Straw was no friend of grooming victims and no enemy of the perps.

I was at a translators conference shortly before the Brexit referendum. I was stunned by the rhetoric of one of the speakers who lamented that translated literature would die if we left the EU? As though nobody had ever read translated literature before we joined the EU!
Chatting with translator colleagues, whom I have known for years, the conversation went to Brexit. I was so fed up with the homogenous ideas being expressed, that I piped up that there were good left-wing reasons to vote leave! It was as though I'd passed a very noisy, smelly fart. The entire group literally turned their backs on me.
It may seem pathetic but I went outside out to cry quietly. I just felt so alone. Especially as I had know it was foolish to suggest such an idea!
