Dinky duck is kind of like Pepe Le Pew. Both didn't have the best of luck, dinky id rejected by would be parents due to his species even when he tries to be sweet, Pepe thinks he's a charmer but doesn't know how to approach women and instead drives them away while him being a skunk makes it even worse. They both also seemed to be less success than the rest of the looney tunes or terrytoons crew.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but at 2:09 that rooster looks like he’s in a boxing ring getting ready to through some haymakers. I used to watch this short on an old VHS tape which contained this short, two Flip The Frog cartoons and The Children in The Shoe.
If its the only rooster the farmer has, he isn't going to eat it if he wants the eggs to hatch. Roosters are jerks in real life too, they will sometimes attack hens, and if they decide to kick them, they'll use a claw on the back of their leg (its called a spur) as a weapon.

I kinda figure that there ARE more roosters the cartoon isn't showing cuz it looks like a large enough farm. And a jerk leghorn like that has probably attacked the farmer enough times that hes got a hot bath waiting for him in the kitchen!
