Grew my locs out for 5-6 years, moved to a new place and noticed I had lice all of a sudden. I previously had my locs redone a few weeks before and it pained me that I couldn’t do anything but cut them unfortunately. As of now, I’m still recovering from being bald not only physically but mentally too. Lice are a pain.
Always enjoy your videos. the hair away topic is one of the best, not just this video but your past videos too. It was information that applied with my locs. Appreciate you and stay blessed 🙏🙌💖
Thank you so much! Yes, I have to keep talking about it because so many loc’ers still know nothing about it, unfortunately 😕 You stay blessed as well 🙏🏾
Thank you! That's been my message since the very beginning of my channel(s). My loc channel has simply been a way to connect with people across the world. Substitute locs in for whatever other topic, but the overall message would be the same :)
Hey Atreyu lovely to catch up with you again (I think YT does its own thing regarding my notifications). So bad when locticians go ahead and do their own thing in your crown. Alot of the time we arent aware of what's happening back there until something goes wrong, ie you start noticing thinning, or someone notices something odd and brings it to your attention. I really wish I could maintain my small locs myself. Always an automatic response from me to give you the thumbs up even before your video starts, that's how much I love and respect your content. Please continue doing as you're doing, being authentically yourself and full of love. Peace and blessings 😘🙏🏾
I know you told me before that it was French but I couldn’t remember how to pronounce it as you saw. Can you remind me once more? Btw, “Kimo” is super cool too. Your whole name is cool 👌🏾🙂
@@AtreyuLocs I think your last pronunciation of the 3 actually got it watching back the video lol but sure. It goes something like "El Lee Zae" but sure Kimo is cool 😎. The first name doesn't give people much trouble in saying it but mostly in spelling it lol
Thanks for the video. I have found that when I left the loose hair alone they formed new locs. None of my locs thinned out. I've stopped separating so have found my locs are thicker at the roots anyway. Is it just me? Perhaps it's down to hair texture as to whether you can leave them alone to do their own thing? Perhaps this only worked because my parts are not small so their size provides a firm anchor at the roots? I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing and monitor the progress more closely.
I hope you don’t mind that this question is a little off topic, but as a person who has had seborrheic dermatitis for their whole life and is considering locs, do you have any advice for what you would have done differently if you had been diagnosed earlier? My main concern is my starter locs staying in tact after being washed pretty frequently. Retwisting is a non-starter. I’d like to be semi free form eventually, so I’m thinking that interlocking for a year might be a good move first (and would be fairly scalp-friendly). Any insight you have would be so appreciated. Thank you for what you do! It really does make a difference.
Hi Atreyu, I love your content. Would you recommend semi freeform locs for someone who has very thick hair in the back but sort of thin in the front from wigs and weaves. Specifically, would the weight of semi freeform loss be too heavy? If your hair is thin is it best to get thin logs or bigger locs?

That sounds horrible. I’m sorry you had to experience that.

And not sure how you came to end your videos with your closing statement but I hope people listen because it's a powerful message ✨

I had lice in my locs it was the absolute worst….never knew it could happen until it happened….
Yeah, I can’t imagine. That’s horrible. I’m sorry you experienced that.
How did you get rid of them, if you don’t mind me asking?
Thanks for the video.
