Hi Maria, again - thank you very much for the compliments and for listening.... Feedback like yours - thats what makes me happy, when I see that, just as a hobby musician, I can reach some people out there in the world with my music..... many greetings from Stuttgart /Germany Gerhard
Hi Marc, normaly I have the song well in my mind.... normally with all the cohrds and hamronies. Sometimes I use lead sheet.... and then I look where I get a good sound and good playability at different positions on the neck of the guitar - always trying to emphazise the melody above all..... many greetings Gerhard .
Hi Marc, the flat keys in most cases were used to help the brass instruments like trumpet, saxophone etc. They play in keys with minimal b or #, while piano, guitar and bass players have do the "difficult" job I made lots of arrangements in the original key (watch "Rocking chair" in Eb). But sometimes I prefer other keys, depending on the melody, or necessary bass notes I am looking for.... and so I did this one in the key of C.... many greetings from Germany Gerhard
Hi Mirek, thank you for this compliment... You can find leadsheets for this song using => "wikifonia" I recorded my own arrangement. But for this I have not written the tabs/score yet.... many greetings from Stuttgart /Germany Gerhard
Wonderful! Why did you pick the key of C? Most (Armstrong, Teagarden, etc ) seem to play it in B flat, so being an incompetent and lazy guitarist, I play it in G and use the capo on the third fret.
Thanks for the detailed answer. I did notice that you were making full use of the neck to get the bass notes on the low E string. If you don't mind a further question, do you learn it by playing along with a recording and then transpose or is your musical memory such that you don't need to do that? Thanks again for your great arrangement & wonderful playing.
Hi Victor, I am sorry for this tune - I have not written my arrangement yet..... take a look at my homepage, there you will find a list of all available arrangements.... greetings from Germany - Gerhard
