Just 2 thoughts on the IR part: 1. I'm pretty sure they are just static emmitters, because I can see 2 wires only connected to each 2. I assume the 45 degree emitters are there for Luba to estimate the distance to the charger. I guess when Luba gradually fails to see the 45° emitters it knows that it is about to hit the charging pins.
Nice docking station tear down! Are you going to tear down the Luba mower?
