Sedge, you are the best man in the Festool Camp and your team is great. You makes this show not
only informative but also great entertaining. I will now buy an OF1400 and
a TS55. Please keep this Show alive especially in times like this. Thanks you and your team.

Hi Sedge, I learned something today about the MK700 router and the use of guide bushing. The base is already threaded - awesome. Also, this is a great format for training and refresher to what I learned in your classes. I appreciate that as you go I can have a library of ways to use my Festool products. Keep the Live Episodes coming. Chuck T

I don’t know what made me turn my attention from the Kapex to a Router…. But this video not only SOLD me on getting a router first…. It also helped me decide which of the four would work for my needs. This does not mean I’m not going to get the Kapex. LOL That baby is staying on my list. LOL. But I just bumped the Festool Router up on my list.
I’ve got a router and router table. I have like…. Three routers. LOL. I also already have a miter saw. But this video showed me how I can up my router game and do functions quicker and more accurately. There are things I avoid because I’d need to make a jig first. This setup with the Router is fantastic. And…I already have the MFT/3. I can see so many benefits to this. I’ll still get a Kapex later. But I’m still deciding on if I want the new cordless one or the original. I’ve used my miter saw less and less anyways. Great video.

@@rklaiss1 Mostly hardwood furniture, cabinet doors, gates and passage doors. I never use the MFK because I don't do any laminate work. I probably used the MFK 10 times if that much

i loved this video and I want to see way more! I buy all my festools locally in Vancouver and the people who sell it here barely know anything about the tools.... i cant tell you how helpful this is for a hobbyist like me. I think I'll buy one of those 1400s now.

For most DIY shops - a trim router (good handheld Dewalt) and a Festool 1400 is the best combo. You can stop researching.

Best Plunge Router I have ever owned. I have several Bosch 1617 EVS In router tables and on a home built CNC and I have the plunge base for the Bosch routers that is no longer used for anything. I also have a Festool OF 1010 which is also a great plunge router. Nothing else comes close to these Routers. IMO.

This was a great video from a sales perspective. A demonstration of why the system integration is going to save you time is far more convincing than simply having a sales rep/website say the words with no actual examples. Time is money and throughout the video you keep showing us why your routers are going to save me time completing the job. Maybe in the future you could do a more detailed comparison between routers to break it down. I know for sure I'm grabbing a 1400 in my next order after watching this.
Also glad to see your editor doing an improved job this time of selecting which camera to use at any given moment when composing this video. The previous one was a little distracting with all the stationary shots just showing guys with phones hovering around instead of using the close-ups from the phones. And Sedge if you read this, your presentation is just fine, you speak crisply and do a good demonstration. I think the comments criticizing you come from people who are watching as entertainment/idle time instead of people really truly interested in what the tool is going to improve in their workflow. Well done. Keep these coming.

I have 1400 with mft table and track system, I have trouble tightening black lock knob on router the keeps router from sliding on the two rods . Always use pliers to tighten. If I don't use pliers it slides on me. I really tighten tight with pliers too. LOVE your videos Thanks

Sedge... how to use the Guide Rail Limit stop with the Guide rail adapter of the OF-1010?
There used to be a top mounted stop for that, the 485827, but that one is no longer sold. The new style doesn't work with the OF 1010 guide rail adapter, not in the way you showed with the 1400.

It would be nice to have the camera zoom in to the adjustment that Sedge is talking about. The iPhone cameramen are distracting and serve no purpose in illustrating what Sedge is saying.

Is there a way to disable the trigger lock function of the 1400 router? This gets pushed every now and then accidentally and really feels dangerous when I'm done with my cut and I'm about to set my router down only to notice the darn lock function has been accidentally triggered.

  • @moderntouchfurniture
    @moderntouchfurniture 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Awesome guys, thank you, please do zoom in on anything you're showing us. I do own both the 1400 and the 2200, and it really is great to get some pointers. I'm in the market for a trim router, I was going Milwaukee because I have the batteries, but maybe I'll wait for the video on the FS trim router.

I happened on this by accident. I have been a fan since my first 1400. I have 2 1400's, a700 (need your bits for this), and many others tools now. This is the first time I had heard the template guides were self centering. Track saws are awesome. I do have problems with the polymer edge staying place.
I have been to the connect events in Lebanon.

I appreciate the videos and am looking forward to the OF 1010 specific video. I wish this had been the 1400 video because the guide system description appears specific to the 1400. All of the information after about the 5 minute mark was of no use to me but would be great if I had the 1400. I hope you consider doing the 1010 first. (1400 guys have a head-start.) You are SO right. Bits are the key factor. I had 2 1/4 bits and 1 1/2 inch. I would have gone with the 1400 if I had more bits but I have the luxury of buying bits for my router rather than buying a router to fit my bits. As a less-experienced router user (fewer bits) I need some guidance now.

Sorry, I know everybody’s a critic, but I would prefer if you just had 1 camera guy and posted later, rather than this hodgepodge “live’ video. If you’re using 2 or 3 cameras in order to do “live” on various platforms, I think you’re sacrificing production value doing so. Sedge doesn’t know which camera to look at, the framing is off, and I feel a disconnect when he’s talking to other cameras.

Please be patient. I believe they are new to the live video’s and are investing in more and better equipment and as later videos have shown... they are getting better at it. I believe they started this after the pandemic started. I for one am impressed. I don’t think anyone, unless they have a videographer and acting backing could pull this off.
      Have a great weekend.
