Thank you for these videos!!! I'm in school right now (third year) for english/secondary ed, and my Clinical 1 is in the fall. Your videos make me so much less nervous, and so inspired and excited!
I just did a Mockingbird / Research writing unit with my freshmen, and we watched the brand new Crash Course: Navigating Digital Information videos for our research unit. We had lots of other things going on, including the Covington High School D.C. incident, but mostly we learned a great deal about research through those videos.
OMG. You are THEE coolest person EEEEVER. And I wanna' be just like you when I grow up. And I'm 43 years old and I'm a H.S. teacher too. And omg ... I just love your videos !!!!!!!! Sending soooo much love !!!!!! New Sub !!!1
I love what you did with the stations! What do you do about kids who work at different paces though? I have a couple of kids who take years to do any task and anytime we try to do stations, they only half-finish them
I'm working on becoming a teacher and I'm not sure which subject I want to go into. Mostly science or math for middle or high school. I have no urge to do anything in literature, but omg you get me so excited about things it makes me reconsider it. Lol good job. Also The outsiders, my favorite book and movie.
While I don’t think you’re desecrating the classics, it does make me a little sad that they won’t read the entire novel. It’s one of my absolute favorite books and I would probably never had read it if I hadn’t been assigned to during high school.
I’m not sure if you do this but another helpful tip is sharing what was going on in your own state or city during that period to help students see it’s a national issue.
I love all the detail and rationale you include on your lessons. ❤️

Know of any free online assessments of reading levels? I'm not an ELA teacher, but I want to differentiate the text I use in my class more accurately.
"Spring Break" here in Massachusetts (called April Vacation) starts week after next, if that makes you feel any better, haha.
We don't get spring break, so there's that..... :(
😢😱😱😱This should be a crime!
I agree! 😩
You are great teacher!!!
Full moon?
No wonder the students are bouncing off the walls!!!
