  • Not too sure about this one.
Limited time, this one's very much in a traditional "demo" state, and I doubt I'll ever do anything with it. Speculating whether my voice could carry a sappy Billy Joel love song, I took a template from yesterday's track and went to work.
Well, I know that my voice can't do that, so what was I thinking?? The tune isn't too good, either. Oh, well - sorry about that! And I sang "lights out" instead of "lights on" at the start - I wonder why! 😂

I think that we need more music that has the passion. I hear musicians play flawlessly very fast and I have no emotional reaction. THIS gives me an emotional reaction. It is poignant and makes me nostalgic for a simpler time. "Buona fortuna nell'anno nuovo" as my "Cugini piemontesi" would say.

Thank you, that means a lot to me. And the same to you!
Yeah, I can see your point. I do love virtuosity done right, but it needs an anchor, a purpose, a context, besides the music itself. Passion, emotion, as you mention; a sense of time and place - why, I'll even take mere functionality. I also love it when a simple pop song hits a nerve.

@@mountaine I like all kinds of music from Early Music up to modern R&B and Hip Hop and EDM. I'm in a songwriting partnership with a friend who just built a recording studio. I hope we can have that same passion in our project. We did record some of my songs in the past in a different studio. I wanted to do more but things got in the way. Hopefully this time we can have something that is more permanent.
