I've always found Gregg's best comedic ability with his Neil Hamburger character is his quick response to the audience "heckling" him. He is so good at fiercely verbally destroying anyone in the audience.
I hate to burst the bubble here, I feel like I'm revealing a magic trick but that is actually part of Neil's act. There usually isn't a heckler there and he's just talking to nobody lol. But I have seen a couple videos where there were real hecklers and he does handle them well
@@echoechochamber i heard gregg talking about it in an interview one time. He said usually there isn't even a real heckler and he's just talking to nobody in particular
I like how Neil uses the strange phrase, "nattering nabobs". "Nattering nabobs of negativism" is a famous line from a political speech written by William Safire for President Nixon's Vice President Spiro Agnew who delivered it during the 1970 midterm elections, referring to their Democratic political opponents.
Its exactly what its supposed to be , its a parody of a hack comic who has no boundaries . Its fucking brilliant . The bad jokes are the best ones . This guy has balls of steele to do this and its fucking hysterical . Ppl commenting that he is bad are missing the whole point of the satire .

I’ve never thought Morrison was the great poet he’s held to be but I do think he was one of the first to deal with darkness in his lyrics (would have to give the Stones first prize for Paint It Black) - but even so the joke is great. Neil stomps all over sacred territory.

I wish this wasn't associated with silly words like "hipster". It's time to move on. This is funny and that's all there is to it. Long live good stand up comedy!
His On Cinema personality isn't what he's really like either. He's just really good at comic acting and stage personalities and is super funny and clever

I give this five bags of popcorn and maybe a large Hamburger as a keepsake.

More of a keychain guy but I’ll take it.

I'd give it 6 bags of popcorn but the scale only goes to 5

That explains why Stephen King mocked it in his book about writing.
