Yeah, though most people around Ainz’s level would have some form of resistance to instant death. Which is why he likes to use it first, because even if his opponent could resist it they would still be stunned. It would also prove that Ainz’s opponent might be of similar level to himself. As OP as it seems instant death(at least in the game) can be resisted/ignored based on various factors. For example if the target is of higher level than the caster the odds of the target dying become significantly lower based on the level disparity. If the target’s race offers immunity to instant death than only a skill like TGOALID could bypass that immunity. What’s more nearly all players that have reached a certain level have already acquired items that protect against instant death and time altering spells. Basically if Ainz faced off against a high level player(even without items to counter instant death) a spell like grasp heart would not guarantee to be a one-hit kill, but the odds of the spell succeeding are fairly decent without such countermeasures.
@@jacobjohnson8635 I think if it was actual game, grasp heart would be a difficult spell to cast on player and have fixed percentage of HP dealt as damage. Instant death under specific circumstance.
I actually paused and laughed out loud for a good 30 seconds when all three dragon wives said they were the mother at the same time. Also fast thinking on Henjimal for agreeing he has three mothers. He basically saved a large chunk of that Frost Dragon Nest's power in that moment.
and that sums up the whole overlord series there’s no actual threats and no players just dominance/one shots and easy manipulation to a bunch npc’s lol I think platinum dragon is the only thing that give most of the guardians of a decent fight except shalltear she would destroy him
The massacre of the Quagua was way more gruesome and depressing in the books. For example they had more then 2000 children. So they killed the weakest children themselves in order for the strongest to be amongst the 2000.

Yeah reading it in the novel really gave me chills. Wanting to see (read) Shalltear in action again like with her battle with Ainz, only to realize even for these huge numbers all she required was her basic attacks. No skills or abilities used, just swinging wildly around her as a Shally-blender. Its crazy how the writer builds up your expectations with a new battle, but gives you both nothing and simultaneously a horrifying reaffirmation on just how overpowered they are compared to the rest of (most) of the new world.
nope, in episode 5 where Demiurge talked with Albedo, he mentioned some plans about the theocracy that he wanted to get permisson from Ainz. If you look at the episode 5 mashup its exactly at the 22 second mark.
Its even funnier in the Light novel, where after killing the (second I think?) dragon, he opens a gate back to Nazarick, casually grabs onto part of the corpse with one hand and flings its massive body into the gate as if it was a toy. Imagine being those dragons and seeing a tiny human sized skeleton grabbing the tail of a dragon corpse and tossing it as if it weight nothing, just to disappear in some dimensional hole leading who knows where? I'm amazed none of those others pissed themselves.
They have alot to cover in terms of whats available from the light novels. Unfortunately the seasons could easily be 24 episodes longer (OR MORE) if they included all the situations that take place with accurate reason and lore descriptions.
We would barely be a few chapters in if they went with the detail of the LN with the amount of eps we have now. Thats not how anime works unfortutanly. Most anime does not even get past the first season let alone Isekai whos track record is even worse. Fact we have 4 seasons and a movie to come is special.
When I first got to this part in LN of Overlord. My disappointment was not as high as some others. This is because of the fact that these were the first Dragons in action. Than knowing to; pretty much in fiction Frost Dragons are the weakest Dragons.
