Just took my driving test today at Newhall and passed the first time. I can say that the route driven in the video is correct only until the part where your required to park and reverse. After that it’s a whole different route. (Depending on who your instructor is) I wasn’t required to u-turn but I was required to change lanes a couple of times. My suggestion to you is to be familiar with the Lane numbers (my error), do not go too slow (another error), ask your driving tester if he/she has their seatbelt before driving off, be familiar with the features of your car (windshields, defroster, signals, headlights, emergency flashers, emergency brakes) and lastly know your hand signals.

I took my test 2 days ago and passed. The route is exactly the same. The only difference is I had to take the U turn prior to the stop sign. Tips: make smooth stops, don't block intersections, be aware of the two unprotected left turns, drive slowly (never exceeding the 35 mph speed limit. It may be good idea to drive just over 30 mph. That's what I did and I didn't get marked down. Also, approach the dip VERY slowly and be aware of the 25 mph residential speed limit), back up slowly during the curb portion of the exam (look over your right shoulder and check your right mirror when doing so), know your arm signals (for right, left, and stop), know how to turn on windshield wipers, headlights, turn signals and defrosters (the instructor will make sure you know where all these are), adjust your mirrors prior to putting the vehicle in drive, and put on the parking break at the end of the exam. Practice this route a few times and listen to these tips and you will pass. Good luck! You'll do fine!

Took my exam and passed. It was the same as the video. However, the instructor made me turn on the right lane during the left turn back to Lyons avenue (after the u-turn around 8:44 mark). Then made me change lanes to the left and change lanes again back to the right. (Probably to demonstrate lane changing skills) Just some tips: 1. Practice. Practice. Practice 2. Always maintain the proper speed. 3. When going through intersections, always scan. (Look left and right before and while crossing intersections) 4. When parking right next to the curb, scan surroundings and never forget to signal. (Make sure you move your head so instructor could see) 5. Before reversing, scan the area again and check for obstacles. (Move head so instructor could see) 6. When changing lanes. (Signal, look over shoulder, then check mirrors) 7. It is pretty common to see an ambulance, fire truck, or police car with sirens around this route, so be prepared for that. 8. Keep calm and don't panic. The instructors could range from being nice to being not so nice. So just follow instructions and focus. Good luck!

I took mine yesterday, and the route I went on was the same until after the reversing part. Then it was completely different. My instructor was a very nice, old man. He didn’t make me do any U-Turns and didn’t mark me off for going to far from the curb during the reversing part. Good luck to anyone who’s taking it...hopefully you get the same guy

BTW, the test officer i had was rude and mean😞, she spoke really fast and explained things by readibg the paper,and you just sit and listen. And She was not willing to repeat what she said! so I like just kindly remind you guys that don't ask any questions during the test,only before the test! And try not to be nervous! Elizabeth Gonzalez U HAVE IT an hour before my twin sister does!! Haha and be careful with the speed limit at all times. They can fail you even if you go 2 above!! Also I got marked down for stopping while turning into a residential area when it was unnecessary and there were no cars around. So be careful. I hope you get the older man. He’s super chill! And don’t be nervous, I was really scared but surprisingly it was so easy. Lasted around 13 minutes. And I think that’s about all things you should know. Other than following the law ofc 😂💓. Hi! Its the same route as the video. Only thing the U-Turn is a little bit before the stop sign at the first break. I passed :D. If you are taking it around this time (February 11th 2021) be careful of construction. There is construction around the turn in the neighborhood and construction when you coming back to the DMV on lyons. Just go a bit slow, watch for construction people, and there may be a sign to move to the left lane because the right lane is closed.
I failed😭it’s the same route as the video. I practiced several times on the route. When I drove back to Lyons Ave I saw a speed limit sign which is 25mph as there is school area,so I slowed down to 20mph. But the instructor said there were no students passing during that time and I drove too slowly. So sad

I just passed. If anyone has a question they can ask me. When making a u-turn, you turn at the first section where there is a gap. Then when making a left turn back onto the main street, my instructor told me to go into the second lane. After that, I changed lanes to the left and then to the right.
@@melanyloaizaacosta2559 it was not shortened. I did the reversing portion of the test. There was a sign hidden that says 20 mph around the curve afterwards. In the video it is in the tall hedge bush where the driver was doing the reversing portion and parallel parking.
@@melanyloaizaacosta2559 when making any turn, look at your rearview mirror, your side mirror (left if you are going left/the same goes for right) and over your shoulder in the direction you're turning. Always check your surroundings when entering intersections on the main road. The maximum speed limit for the main road is 35 mph but be aware of speeds around the curve in residential areas which are 5 mph less. With any bump in the road, slowing down to 10-15 mph is good. If you are at a blind spot at a stop sign, first stop behind the limit line and check your surroundings. Then, inch forward a little (making sure your car is not on the main road) and check your surroundings again.
I just took the test and passed if anyone has any questions just put them below :) Edit: this is how the test went, hopefully this eases some nerves :) since I took this during COVID, it was kinda different. I parked the car in the driving test section ( don’t think you’re supposed to do that but they didn’t care because they saw I was checking in). I then went to one of doors and waited there, don’t go to the one directly where u put your car but the one across from where all the people are (if you get out of your car and walk ahead and turn left it’s the door directly there, should be zero people there and should be locked. I wouldn’t go to the door where the test is because there was a girl waiting there for over 20 min and it took me 1 min to get in on the other door).They took my temperature and let me in right away. Remember to bring all the documents you need and get there earlier if your permit expired because you have to renew it. They put you on one of the test computers and you fill in basic info and asks for your social (you also have to retake your picture!) After that they gave me a paper and told me to go to my car, I waited for approximately 10 min. I had my car turned on and the window rolled down all the way. She came up to my car, took the paper and asked me a whole bunch of basic questions (hand signals, headlights, test the horn, point to the headlights and windshield wipers, defroster, turn signals, etc.) then she got in the car and the test started. Don’t forget to look over your shoulder when you start bc there will be cars passing u inside the parking lot. I have very bad anxiety and learned how to drive in 20 days, it was hard but if you watch videos and watch anyone that drives ask them questions it really helps. Don’t forget to turn on your right signal and glance back while pulling up, and turn your left signal on once you finish reversing and glance back again. P.S.- Also remember to turn off your turning signal after pulling up to the curb bc it won’t turn off automatically, at least mine didn’t. GL :)

Diana Jocelyn hello! sorry for the late response but it went very well. :) my examiner was a woman and she is a bit picky but i still passed !!!!! the course is exactly the same except the U turn will be made a lot sooner on rotella (the first possible place where u can make the U turn is probably where she’ll make you do it). the test felt very fast, there’s nothing to be worried about! i found it quite easy :) hope this helps!
I took mine yesterday and passed.There’s construction going on but it’s not to bad and the backing portion is really short. Always remember to smog, check ur mirrors, and scan intersections. Other than that it’s really an easy pass it’s like less than 10 min
Make sure you know what to do on left turns with a green light that is not arrow shaped. You move up slowly and make sure no one is coming your way before turning

Raquel Polanco just follow the signs of the speed limits. Neighborhoods 25 miles, there is a dip which shows in the video because of the sign saying so but when you are about to hit the dip, try to slow down to 10-15 mph because it rocks the car really hard at 25mph. Honestly just use common sense and don’t rush anything when it comes to stop signs. Take your time and then proceed. Probably only had about 10 hours of driving total and still got my license, you can do it
yea its the exact same route, but from a friend the part on the straight way back, Lyons Ave, theres a merging portion. The make you merge like twice then your good.

How many minutes was the test?
Thanks man. I took my test here passed the 2nd time. There are 2 routes for the test. The other one doesnt have a u-turn but a merging of some sort.

Make sure you know what to do on left turns with a green light that is not arrow shaped. You move up slowly and make sure no one is coming your way before turning
I had to do the reversing after parking by a curb. Make sure you’re able to stay parallel and can park the correct distance from the curve

I promise you that if you practice a lot and feel comfortable driving BEFORE the date of your test comes, you will feel confident about passing!

I failed. I was too nervous and the lady driving instructor didn't make my experience better. She made me even more nervous from the start. But that's just me. I stress too much

The route is the same except didn’t turn in that one street Rosetta or whatever kept going straight the guy was nice but didn’t do so great he failed me because the light turned green and he got mad at me so I could have passed but failed me instead for that

ceceedley was it hard? I failed in San Clemente but it was because the guy was a total racist and failed everyone who wasent white. he also took me on the highway (a brand new route) so yeah.
Maya Adel so it was so easy just remember everything your suppose to do obvs. and Pay attention I was so close of passing but he failed me because I wasn’t focused on that light and that is a critical error which is stupid but you will for sure pass this video did help me so much though

Speed limits?
Raquel Polanco just follow the signs of the speed limits. Neighborhoods 25 miles, there is a dip which shows in the video because of the sign saying so but when you are about to hit the dip, try to slow down to 10-15 mph because it rocks the car really hard at 25mph. Honestly just use common sense and don’t rush anything when it comes to stop signs. Take your time and then proceed. Probably only had about 10 hours of driving total and still got my license, you can do it

yea its the exact same route, but from a friend the part on the straight way back, Lyons Ave, theres a merging portion. The make you merge like twice then your good.
