My husband and I were just talking about your voice, while listening to 'Spare Ohs,' so I looked you up. Just like with Andrew Bird, I am sold after one song. Gorgeous voice, just a beautiful, beautiful song. I love how you add so much wholeness to his voice, in all 3 songs you feature in on Armchair Apocrypha. Your voice is, like, a beautiful surprise in those songs.
Lit from underneath I get so high The swords fall from the sky And you hope they won't be shy The eyes of every stranger on the street Are hiding from the same kind of heat If you don't cut it out and set it free You're doomed to repeat Thinking 'I can change I can change I can change' What if I were kind enough to love her Instead of building walls around her? I could be so happy if I let myself be happy But I'm too busy behaving for a crowd Thinking 'I can change I can change I can change...'
Huge fan from West Africa, Lagos, Nigeria.. Found this song from Working Mums on Netflix. It's on my everyday playlist.. Totally crazy about this song.. Well done Haley 👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Thanks Haley for the beautiful song, and interesting subject. As a 51 year old father of 4 myself, If I understood the point of the video, your subject selection - the terrifyingly isolating, lonely position of fatherhood (or maybe you just mean parenthood generally, and happened to use the father as the subject) - is a pretty bold and unusual topic for sympathy in 2018. Always love your music. Unfortunately not going to be available to see you at Frebella, but hopefully will see you at Cedar in Dec.
I thought it was the father facing alcoholism and going through a blackout while his families faces were fuzzy and he woke up on the lawn. Hence the black room he was in (blackout) and the monsters of addiction grabbing at him while he reaches again and again for his family mirroring the struggles of addiction in his back and forth attempt to change

Haley is so incredible in her art. Love her 🥰🥹🥹
Gorgeous song. Up there in equal with Last War. Two powerful songs with brutal undertones and haunting melodies. Bravo, Haley.
i totally agree! and i hope to see her in person in march :P
Great song. Great voice. Great guitarwork. I like the reverb on the guitar. I like the new wave brittish feel in the songs. Cant stop listening.
Been listening to this since it came out and finally got the video today. I'm always late. But it was perfect
