Wii is my only console now, i had a ps3 since 2011 and a wii since 2018, but ps3 broke HDD for pausing a game at 2019. I hacked my wii at january 2019, and in july i discovered how to install wbfs games.

Wii modding is a lot of fun, it turned a pretty basic system into one of the most comprehensive retro machines to own! And it’s cheap as shit
Exactly. And the Wii sold like hotcakes, so finding a used one for a cheap price is very easy these days if you want to get into it.

I should probably make a note that you need to agree to the User Agreements (EULA) on the Internet Settings to be able to access the WiiConnect24 settings.

You'll have to make sure you are on version 4.3 or it'll brick your console
I did it didn't work then I tried it 3 times and it worked only the news channel the forecast needs to be updated when I have the dns but hey thanks for telling me.

Thank you very much! Because of what you've done, I was able to experience the news and forecast channels for the first time! Of course, there were a couple setbacks along the way, (using a mac to do everything, my sd card wouldn't read for a while, and I may have made a USB unusable) but now I'm finally able to experience what wiiconnect24 users were able to use. Did You know it's possible to install dos or windows 98 on wii? You should try it!
Hey I had wiimfi running on my Wii and it was great but then we got sky Internet and my Wii stopped going online. Is there anyway other way to play wii games online or a way my wiimfi can work on sky Internet. Ps thanks for the SDcardless homebrew vid it really helped! XD

Hi! I’m having a problem with my everybody votes channel on my Wii. It gives me the error code 239001. I made sure IOS31 and IOS80 are both patched. I tried restarting the channel but I keep getting the same error code. Do u know what could be the issue?
UPDATE: I figured out what the problem was. It was the riiconnect24 service having trouble with the everybody votes channel wad.
This is awesome. I’ve actually honestly missed the weather channel. 😂 The music, ambience, actual weather. Bliss 😩👌

The video is very helpful, and I will most likely follow the tutorial to use the forecast channel on the Wii again, for nostalgia purposes.
Also, the fun fact about using candles as a Wii sensor bar is true! Our Wii sensor bar broke one day, and I showed my dad the trick and he didn't believe me until he used it and it started working.
It has been ages since I seriously used my Wii for anything.
This could be fun tho.

It would be nice if they introduced an alternative to the shopping channel, (that has eg the internet channel and TH-cam, etc) it would be so cool!
The TH-cam service on Wii has shut down, and there really is no reason to bring it back. You can also download anything that was on the Shop Channel from Mariocube.
Mariocube sucks because it's built with Google drive and has 0 organization

Very detailed tutorial and seems fun to do. 100% make sure you are on system menu 4.3 as if your not that can easily brick the console!
If you press 1 while you are in the folder with the wad files it will install them all at once

This awesome! Thank you. I'm glad I never got rid of my Wii. I ran into a couple of minor hurdles and I wanted to share how I was able to resolve them. I haven't read through the previous comments so my apologies if this has already been mentioned.
Hurdle 1. The RiiConnect24Patcher installation kept failing for me. The error message did clue me in on trying again with my anti-virus turned off. You have to temporarily disable your anti-virus AND run the RiiConnect24Patcher file as administrator. That got it working for me.
Hurdle 2. After installation was complete, I had to manually copy the wad files to my sd card from my pc. Installation didn't put them on my sd card for some reason. I suspect that I didn't have enough space in the sd card. I got rid of some existing files to make room and manually copied the files.
Hurdle 3. The RiiConnect24 Mail Patcher app would not launch for me in Homebrew. I kept getting a message saying that the application was invalid. Luckily, I already had the Homebrew Broswer installed. Under Utiliies, upate RiiConnect24 Mail Patcher app and it should get rid of that error.

Just a little reminder for all of you installing RiiConnect24: You don't have to install the first 2 WAD files in order, you can just install them all at once and it is much quicker and easier to do. I haven't experienced any problems with it when I installed the WAD files to my Wii all at once.
its reccomnded to do it one by one so no more errors or ios for forecast and news channel not working and Nintendo channel not installing.
I could have used this 5 months ago! All I could find was tutorials made by kids and adults who didnt know what they were talking about. This is a great tutorial!

@@pompshuffle562 i think it is the psp with the infinity mod. Normal psp modding you have to do every time you turn on, installing infiinity it loads on boot and allows homebrew to run at the start. You can already run homebrew at the wii system menu without installing another, the issue is if the channel have a broken banner
But my wii does run usb loader gx at the start instead of the system menu because it groups homebrew, channels and installed games and can run patches even on disc games, it is not a alternate dashboard, i can run the system menu Just fine pressing Reset.

I remember watching your tutorials before and I am suprised your back at it.
This isn't working for me. I'm using a USB. When I go to the homebrew channel there's nothing there. I've tried pressing 1 to bring up the menu and press USB, but it still doesn't work. Do I need USB loader or something? Or is it because I've got files on it (like word documents and things)? Do I need to put the riiconnect24 files in a certain folder or do I put on the root of the USB? I'd really appreciate it if someone can help
Edit: nvm I got it working. You need to put the files on the Root of the sd card/USB if it's not there it will not work

What if you already have the old wii channels installed before patching?
What about for channels that you already have on your wii? I followed the tutorial but the forecast channel and news channel that I have seen people use recently won't work.

just installed riiconnect24 on my wii and used the news and forecast channel and i feel like i'm in 2011-2013 again.
If you didn’t know, they have actually added Japan and Korea support!

EDIT: I fixed it by going to “Country” and picking UK, Germany or any other country that is supported by WiiConnect24.
When going to WiiConnect24 in settings, it says “Please review the Wii Network Services Agreement in Wii Settings to use the Wii Shop Channel or WiiConnect24.” then when I press OK it takes me to a screen where it says “Connecting to the internet” then it just says “Wii Shop Channel and WiiConnect24 is currently not being offered.”
What do I do?

Version 1.0 of the System Menu would force a system update after finishing its internet connection test.
"The connection test was successful. Your Wii will now be automatically updated."
it turns out you do not need system menu 4.3 to install the home brew channel and riiconnect24

I think Fullmetal5 wrote an ethernet driver for the Mini. If you switch the system menu/IOS to that of a normal Wii and install that ethernet driver, you should be able to use Riiconnect24.
for this christmas I might get a Wii. This is great to do when I homebrew this thing.

I bricked my wii BUT it is ok because i have many backups but its because of all my mods so guyz this totally works on my backup wii and i think im pretty happy about this ! !

So it worked! Thank you very much for helping me through the process! Now I can finally go back to Pre-2014 where I can go willy nilly with channels like Forecast and Nintendo Channel. One question I may ask? Can I take the SD Card out of my Wii and format it so that I can save my space on it?
It’s completely fine to take the SD card out of your wii as long as everything is installed!

Everything worked apart from the mail patcher and the forecast channel
now me and mt cousin can play some wii again, just like the old days.
I did everything that he said in the video, but I still am unable to use the News channel and the Forcast channel. I have a U.S region Wii and I know that the .wad files for the Europe region Wii's have to be manually patched, while the U.S ones get patched with the Wii Mail service. Please help me fix this issue!

@@milymilo He'd have to install dolphin, and on probably XP which I think his cpu on the $5 windows 98 PC has fewer MHZ than the Wii.
I love how in a lot of vids they say how if you install it on this console it will brick it but what about the people who don’t know what that means no hate just putting it out there

Not quite sure what you're talking about. If it's Homebrew that tells you this, press '1' on Wiimote and select USB Drive. If Wii Mod Lite tells you this, you need to choose the drive when you start WAD Manager. Use the Left and Right buttons on D-Pad to choose it.

I made RiiConnect24 worked on Nintendo Wii and then I use Priiloader to get Wiimmfi on. That's when RiiConnect24 and Wiimmfi Work which is on Nintendo Wii

Hey, i have a question, does riiconnect24 get back the wii shop channel? (or at least the virtual console) Because if i get a wii i'd love playing games like super mario 64, megaman game, etc (also if it doesnt then maybe you could send me a different thing like video tutorial that tells me how to install something that does.)
