    You usually don't post vids when you are extra frustrated with the job. I'm glad you did as it is interesting to see how you get around these problems (or deal with by going through it). Hopefully you see that we are happy to watch your frustrating vids as well as we can see what you are dealing with, most would likely be even more pissed off than you (you seem calm even when annoyed).

    Jobs like that are carter builders I always say. It's been a wet one for sure this year. Doesn't seem like the sun ever shines to dry things out here. I believe I have grown gills to breath. You almost need a boot wash attached to the outside of the machine so you don't drag in 25 pounds every time you get in.

  • @xCoolBreezex

    hey at least its flat ground. I worked on a big clearing job last year with one of our deere 2454 forester hoes. All the topsoil turned to shit like that but there was only a foot of it then solid rock on the side of a mountain Went for a few puckering rides. Had to build roads with the branches and then hog fuel once we got the grinder in there. Was actually a pretty fun job

  • @axe609
    @axe609 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    At least you have mud you can deal with. If its thawed here my backhoe sinks to the axles and if its frozen enough to drive on I don't think I'd get get the trees down or be able to dig the ditches I need. Just SOL for the winter I think.

    Our crew just finished a month long assignment here in Michigan, was supposed to only be a week or so but it turned out to be a shitshow like your dealing with. 6 acres to clear but once we broke through the top 2" of frozen ground our equipment sank in 10" of black mud that quickly became deeper as we moved around.

    I really envy your cycle times. I've been doing the same all day today, bought an old Hyundai 210 figuring it would be the same money to pay someone to clear our land but this way I get to play with an oversized shovel. This thing is worn out though, slow as molasses. Takes forever to do anything and it walks so dang slow.

    I too am enjoying this video of clearing land near the lake but I would enjoy it a whole lot more if I didn't have to hear all the complaints. Too much rain, too much mud, no place to cut the wood etc. If conditions aren't good enough to work please don't! I would work in any conditions untill I felt it was not worth it anymore. Hope this wasn't too severe.
