    No he is not cooked. He is unproven in the NFL. Most QBs need 3 NFL years of play to have a good idea of what you got. Yes, he had very little help. So that hurts him. I just hope he stays healthy so we can see what his future holds.

Bryce never once passed the eye test since pre season. He does not look like he belongs out there. Same way Trevor Lawrence "never lost"....Bryce has never had to be the best player on his offense. He's used to having an OL that gives him 5 seconds of protection. WRs who outrun anybody and a RB who takes checkdowns another 10 yards. LSU and GA literally showed the game plan on how to beat Bryce. Pressure up the middle....keep the edge contained. Part of the reason I’m a far bigger college football fan is how bad the Lions have been my entire life. I was at the last playoff game they won in the Silverdome, I WAS A KID! My son is significantly older than I was then and… nothing but misery. Plus I went to Michigan, was a sophomore in 1997… so of course I like the college game more!
    But the point is, this could be far longer than a couple of years. It’s been DECADES for us in Detroit. Let’s hope Brice Young’s history of success will help him through this season. Football is the ultimate team sport. If you don’t have a coach, offensive coordinator, offensive line, wide receivers, and a quarterback, you’re not going to do well. While we all struggle at times, here is my advice: while winning is a great healer, failure is a great teacher. If you can learn from your mistakes you will win in the long term. At the same time, we all have egos. It is a test of character just how much truth we can take. I don’t know just how much of this is Brice Young’s fault. Brice Young should take as much responsibility for the situation as he can. But, don’t put the weight of the world on your shoulders. It’s a difficult position to be in. As a side note, last year CJ Stroud with Ohio State should have been National Champions. In my opinion, CJ Stroud’s performance with the Texans proves it and proved CJ Stroud was the better quarterback.

    I disagree. Number one picks almost never go to good situations. At first young QB's make a few things happen and progress is built with better development and improving personnel. Carolina went from 7-10 to 2-14. That's not all Bryce Young. But it also means he is not helping the situation. I always thought he was too small for the NFL and he plays much smaller than I expected. Carolina has to give him another year, but I think Broadcaster Bryce is coming sooner than we want.

    5'10" is awfully short for a modern pro quarterback in the NFL. Pat Haden was 5'11" and was routinely terrorized by the taller defensive ends and tackles, like Too Tall Jones, that he just couldn't see over.
    CJ Stroud is 6'3" - almost half a foot taller. That's a huge difference. Size matters in the NFL. Another huge difference between them is that CJ Stroud had to struggle a lot more to accomplish what he did, and to get to the NFL - CJ went to a public high school, although a good one for sports and academics, it was nothing like Mater Dei, where Bryce Young went to, which is the finishing school for top high school athletes, especially football players, in Southern Cal. I think in the end, Bryce Young is going to be at best a mediocre quarterback in the NFL, like a lot of Heisman Trophy winners who didn't turn out to be stars in the NFL, it was because they were always surrounded by terrific players who helped them to look good, and then once those players were no longer there, you finally see the real player that's there, all by himself, and he's no where near as good as you thought he was.

  • @Kohnbread19
    @Kohnbread19 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The Panthers have demonstrated just how much poor roster management and bad coaching can impact a team. The GM bragged we were a QB away, then traded away the best offensive weapons on the team without replacing them (CMC and DJ Moore). They also, imo fairly, assumed that the Oline that ended the year strong in 22 would be good in 23. The line regressed and suffered from incessant injuries. 9 starting LG and 8 RG isnt a recipe for success.
    The coaching staff was constructed with coaches that had never worked together and had sometimes opposing opinions about how to run the offense. Reich developed a playbook that did not work with the players that the team had, instead the scheme was built for the team that the coaches wanted instead of who they had. It will be a 2 year rebuild, at least, to fix the offense. The sad fact is that BY9 had approximately 500 pass attempts with 300 completions. 62 sacks and 54 throwaways make up over half of his incompletions, which is insane to think about.
    The below average WR play has made it worse. Dont pretend the guy wasn't a good prospect and a unanimous 1.1 or 1.2 pick depending onthe team. The Panthers built a poor roster with a poor scheme and I doubt any QB would have thrived this season.
    Before you casuals say "but what about Dalton in week 3" He had 58 pass attempts and a 6.2 YPA average... Bryce had a 5.6 YPA even though his ADOT was 9 yards.

    @Kohnbread19 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    As an example of how bad the supporting team was around Bryce, look no further than week 18. The Panthers were shut out, again, and he had 0 TDs and sub 100 yards. He had 3 receivers drop the ball, he got robbed of a touchdown by Chark diving for the endzone (from the 4...) and fumbling. The Panthers missed a FG with the back up kicker, and then a WR lined up wrong causing a 26 yard rushing TD to get called back. The Panthers season could be summed up as underperforming and self inflicted wounds. The games Bryce looked best were the games that the supporting cast started to perform, and even in those games it was seldom for more than a quarter or 2 drives. He led the team on multiple game winning drives and he does have that IT factor. If he can get support from coaching and the rest of the offense, he can be a top 10 QB in the league. If he doesn't get support, he likely wont survive to a 3rd season as its already a miracle he didn't get hurt after 60+ sacks and 100+ hits.

    Bryce is a very unique , miniature athlete similar to Doug Flutie . Is he a legitimate high-end NFL QB ? No . I would have never considered drafting him any earlier than the 4th round . How can I make such a statement ? Easy . He's too short , too small and most importantly he cannot see the field . Bryce actually regularly breaks down the timing of plays . The end result is endless inconsistency . While he was at Alabama , I felt we were beatable in nearly every game he started . From time to time ha can be accurate . However , when compared to Tua or even Mac , he's falls well short .
    So , he's not consistent , breaks down a high percentage of plays , not highly accurate and plays with no emotion to inspire the players around him . Athletes can win games , but rarely do they ever win championships . Remember this - Improvisation is the enemy of consistency and therefore the best friend of defeat .
    How long could he last in the NFL ? My guess is he ends up broken down within 4.5 to 6 years .

      @@roris5882Dude... A QB without an Oline is 100% doomed. Even a great QB will 100% struggle if the front five can’t consistently open holes for running backs or keep the opposing front seven out of the offensive backfield. The QB will get very jumpy/nervous and be prone to inaccuracy & making bad throws as he’ll always have one eye on the opposing pass rush instead of focussing all his attention on his receivers. From there, you’ll get an offense that can’t move the ball consistently and thus score points, whilst the defense will wear down from spending too much on the field. So, you need to have a line that can at least hold its own in the running game and be able to pass block for long enough to give the QB enough time to set his feet in the pocket and throw when he wants to rather than having to unload early to avoid getting hit. Burrow was sacked like 50+ times one season which is probably why he's injured now...😑

    Most teams are built ass backwards. First you need an offensive line, then backs, a great one and a good one, a tight end. then an receiver. When you have all that find a QB that fits your team. In the history of Carolina they have been content to play a field goal game with a great defense. When you don't have a great defense you got to score touchdowns at least 4 a game. I'm local to Charlotte but I could never get into watching them, It has always been more of a soccer match then a football game.
    Carolina's motto is "Keep Pounding (keep trying). To me if you get the same result that"s insanity. Change the motto to "Get'er Done", that's my advise for the next coach.

    Being known as a “Champion” addresses his winning career until the NFL. BUT, it also encompasses many other attributes that Bryce has honed in his career that have contributed to his success. He is mentally tough and does not panic in any situation. We have seen that vividly during his career at Alabama. He is even tempered and has a strong family support system that bolsters his confidence. He believes in his abilities and works very hard to improve any flaws in his game. It would be great if his new head coach would be more like Mike McDonald that has made such a difference in Tua’s performance and, of course, improving the cast of players around him. So, Bryce is a champion and he will weather this storm by following “The Process” that he learned from The Goat.

    The biggest crime is how the Panthers GM is still employed

    The Cardinals ruined Jake Plummer putting him in too soon with an O-line that couldn't protect him. Moving to Denver didn't help much.
    Arizona wasn't done there, they took a top-rated QB from USC and straight-up ruined him too. I can't think of his name for some reason. He ended up as a backup at the Texans. Matt Leinart was his name if I remember correctly.
    With a decent O-line, a decent QB is going to have teething pains. A bad O-line will destroy good QBs.

    Same thing happened to Joey Harrington when he was drafted by the Lions. Spent most of his time running for his life. Great talent wasted.

      He's never going to be on a team like Bama or Mater Dei with the talent disparity he needs to be successful in the Pros. Plus he's too puny and delicate to survive the physicality.

    I think if they traded to a team like Denver, New Orleans, New York Jets or Las Vegas he could be saved but we know how that will not happen. I think maybe the new Head Coach needs to rebuild that O-line he needs a running game that can ground up yards and clock a solid tight end and well hell a new offense period.
