    So many young faces.

📽 all thanks go to Riz Guevarra and his many hours of work in transforming these videos to a format we can upload.

Sensei Chiba was real and hardcore. He kept the warrior spirit of Aikido alive.

I've been lucky to train with some of Chiba Sensei's senior students in the UK, but was never fortunate enough to practice under Sensei himself. This video captures many of the things which were being practiced, which really must be experienced to be appreciated. A wonderful video, inspiring Aikido from a legendary teacher. Thank you for sharing.

An interesting video. It makes me sad that he is gone. Joy and sorrow combined, seeing my sensei Paul Sylvain, watching from the front and demonstrating with Chiba sensei around 49 mins. Is it wrong that I see counter aiki from Sylvain sensei and Chiba having to shake his wrists out. Both gone now. I might have stayed with Aikido if Paul Sylvain had lived on, but that was not meant to be. I went, instead to the source....Daito Ryu. In the end, Chiba sensei stopped injuring so many of his students, but it was a long time coming. He was both thrilling and dangerous to train with.

I also trained with Paul Sylvain, starting in 1995. I am happy that I had the experience I did with him before his death.

I trained on & off with Paul for several years prior to his passing. He was always kind to me, as I am physically smaller. We developed a friendship outside dojo training, debating which tofu hot dogs were better, and discussing aspects of Buddhism and other philosophies. During one seminar with Paul and Chiba, Paul jammed my shoulder a bit, so I sat to the side massaging it. Chiba sidled up to me and stage whispered "Did I hurt your shoulder?" I said no, it was Paul. Chiba: "Good!"
      I miss them both.

China Sensei seems relatively mellow in this video. Other videos not so much lol.

Excellent Chiba Sensei. Before I ever was uke for him I had heard so much of his reputation so was naturally very nervous to train with him. First time he ever called me out, I attacked and he threw me into the wall. Yep. Ouch. What a master!

Chiba's martial style is really a lot different from what we usually see in aikido today; I would have loved to train under him.

You might have loved the results, but not the training. It was very damaging borderline brutal.
