The contradiction in Weissglass's words is very strange. On the one hand, he says that October 7 is the watershed. That is, what was before this date will not return. On the other hand, he explains for an entire hour why it is necessary to return to the Oslo concept (putting Israel's security in the hands of the PA). This contradiction is apparently necessary in order to present the University of Haifa as a model of coexistence, inclusiveness and all the other slogans necessary to open donors' wallets. With all due respect For donations of money, the most important contribution after October 7th is standing behind the truth. And this - as Weissglas himself said - is the most important lesson from the events of October 7th. The truth about what is happening at the University of Haifa is known to everyone who wants to know the truth. No Coexistence but bowing down to supporters of terrorism, of course in the name of all the false slogans, which after October 7 must be thrown into the dustbin of history. Just like the logic of Oslo. Regarding the question 'so what do you suggest?', or 'what next', it is difficult to find the right answer. But this must not pave the way to suggesting again fundamentally wrong answers of the past. Not "only" regarding the conflict, but also regarding the existing distorted "inclusiveness" in HU campus.

Which is more insane: acting like the Palestinians are going to disappear as BiBi pretends or to actually work towards some accomodation? No one says it will be easy but at least it isn't delusional.

@@chicagofineart9546 Yes, absolutely, Weissglass can accommodate most issues with me or BIBI, the problem was, still is and for the invisible future will be the Arabs. If you want to play chess with yourself as Eshkol put it more than 50 years ago, go for it. A must step to find solutions to any problem is to face its' nature. When I see a person put BiBi on the same level as these enemies of humanity, I understand that I am talking to a blind person.

@Readinganddifference Haifa University has a large percentage of Arab students and faculty members. In general, this is very good news. Here is proof of the integration of Arabs into Israeli society. And in two words it is called the 'Haifai model'. It should be added that the city of Haifa is also known for the generally good atmosphere that exists between Jews and Arabs in the city. But even though this is something positive, we must not forget that almost all Arabs at the University of Haifa, certainly among the faculty, are convinced beyond any doubt that there is no place for a Jewish state. According to them, there is a fundamental contradiction between 'Jewish' and 'democratic', and therefore, in fact, there is no conceptual difference between their position and the position of all the so-called terrorist organizations. And terrorism, violence, atrocities, and so on, are not the main thing, but its justification. And the justification for terrorism by Hamas and the PLO and by all the Palestinian organizations since the days of the Mufti, for a century, is exactly, but exactly the same justification of the Arab intellectuals who teach in Haifa, receive a salary from the State of Israel, and benefit from the donations of Jews from the association 'Friends of the University of Haifa'. Sinwar, Ayman Odeh and Prof. Ganem, and others, are convinced that there is no place for a Jewish state. Point. It's a shame that smart people like Weisgels - who no doubt know all this - make sure to ignore this fundamental truth, that every worthy person, that is, one who accepts the right of Jews to exist, must say nowadays out loud.
