I’m with swift and if my truck is in the shop for too long and I can’t drive swift allows me to rent another truck so I can keep making money. And if I don’t have enough money for repairs swift loans me that too. Is that possible with these mid to small sized companies? Or are you just done once you can’t fix your truck?
Great point. 99% of small trucking companies, and 98% of big trucking companies will not give you a loan to repair your truck unless you have the money you need in your completed loads. On the other hand, why would anyone need a loan for repairs if they were making enough money in the first place. You can make a lot more money running with small to mid size companies. In our opinion it is a false sense of security. May look good on the paper, but will have a million limitations and restrictions without any guarantees. Would be nice to have someone who's been through this scenario, has receipts and could come to the podcast for a video. If it is as good as it sounds, it would help a lot of people, who are considering getting into Owner-Operator business.
Yes some can. My company has a rental truck program and will loan money in some circumstances. There has been maintenance loans before. What you really need to do is call around and ask these questions. I’ve seen some great deals out there with on site repairs to save you money just like Swift would have. Swift has some securities, but you can make a lot more elsewhere and that may come with some extra risk. Don’t be fully reliant on any company always have a cushion to fall back on.

Hazmat does not pay enough. We don't know anything about cattle to even talk about it. We can recommend one really good guy who does step-deck including oversize. This guy is a beast in his field of business. Shoot us a message on FB if you need his info.
