Yeah, I like her voice a lot. I think lower voices are just more soothing than the higher voices that some of the other vtubers have, although all are nice.
One thing I still can’t believe she said. She said that she dislikes her voice a while ago but after hearing her sing so many times, her voice is like a blessing for us that I’m getting goosebumps when she starts singing… Thanks again for the cover~!
I totally understand what you mean, our perception of our own voice is different from other hearing it. Like in our head vs. in a recording. Anyway I’m just glad I can hear her sing for us.
If anyone is wondering, ‘flos’ means ‘flower’ in Latin. Plus, ‘flos’ could also refer to the flower “Adonis Flos”, that means “painful recollections/memories”, which is kinda what this song is about (based on the translation on the other comment) so its a really clever title If you think about it Really good cover btw, Okayu’s voice is really great
Everyone mentioning Okayu not liking her singing voice, the argument about what you hear when you sing is a lazy one as she would know how she sounds outside her own head as soon as she listened to a playback. What's more likely to be the case is she is probably comparing her voice to that of the more mainstream female idols and noticing that she doesn't sound like that. Perception of what is accepted/mainstream plays a big part in skewing our own self worth. Her voice isn't your typical high pitched, cutesy girly type and she doesn't really seem that comfortable with projecting herself loudly. She probably sees these as negative traits to her role as an "idol" Thing is, her voice being lower/softer is also soothing. It's got a calm and mellow quality that your mainstream types just don't have. Instead of trying to tell her her perception is wrong and she needs to change that idea, encourage her with praise and support. Being borderline a public figure, she's bound to get plenty of negative/combative comments/criticisms, even likely from her own psyche. Let her vent those, but reinforce the positive points. If she's ready to move on from that part of her psyche, that's when you should step in and help her enact those changes she wants to make
I feel like wanting to protect idols with high pitched voices but when hearing Okayu or Towa's deep voices it feels like they are the one that would protect me.
She's definitely one of my favorite Hololive members for a reason and it largely started due to her voice so I'm glad there are so many other people who think so highly of it.

I don't think there's any real requirements other than the VTuber themselves wanting to make one + having the resources to do so. Polka and Calli both had original songs in their debuts, so I don't think Hololive would stop Okayu if she wanted an original song

I remember her talking about this casually a few times, but she's so good! I listen to her karaoke all the time. She's so easy to listen to. I feel like being able to be Okayu has let her be herself and her voice comes through and shines.
There's just something about her voice that comforts to those who listen, a cute and high singing voice is great and all for an idol, but a low and soft singing voice is rare and very soothing. This is what makes Okayu a great singer. I heard she doesn't like her singing voice...Everyone...do what you must do and give this cat all the love that she deserves for her voice and everything that she's done :D
Honestly, I like both higher pitched and lower-pitched voices. Higher pitched is good for idols, but lower-pitched is more relaxing and "comfy" for lack of a better term.

Okayu's voice is extremely calming and soft. It makes me imagine myself sitting down on top of a snowy hill, watching the bright northern lights, along with the sound of crackling fire from the camp fire. As I watch the sky, I just feel and hear the slow and cold wind pass by. It's a cozy and gentle world. A world of calmness.

There’s something so indescribable about this cover for me, I’m not sure if it’s just the way Okayus deep sort of breathy voice resonates or the melancholic tone the song has, but I seriously haven’t been able to stop thinking about this song for the last two days. Everyone mentioning Okayu not liking her singing voice, the argument about what you hear when you sing is a lazy one as she would know how she sounds outside her own head as soon as she listened to a playback. What's more likely to be the case is she is probably comparing her voice to that of the more mainstream female idols and noticing that she doesn't sound like that. Perception of what is accepted/mainstream plays a big part in skewing our own self worth.
Her voice isn't your typical high pitched, cutesy girly type and she doesn't really seem that comfortable with projecting herself loudly. She probably sees these as negative traits to her role as an "idol"
Thing is, her voice being lower/softer is also soothing. It's got a calm and mellow quality that your mainstream types just don't have.
Instead of trying to tell her her perception is wrong and she needs to change that idea, encourage her with praise and support. Being borderline a public figure, she's bound to get plenty of negative/combative comments/criticisms, even likely from her own psyche. Let her vent those, but reinforce the positive points. If she's ready to move on from that part of her psyche, that's when you should step in and help her enact those changes she wants to make
I feel like wanting to protect idols with high pitched voices but when hearing Okayu or Towa's deep voices it feels like they are the one that would protect me.

@@vocassen Exactly - the Yamine Renri cover was my favorite vocal synth version of this, and as soon as I saw the announcement I *immediately* knew it was gonna be perfect. There's this lower yet very feminine voice that both of these covers have that just fit this song way too well. It's amazing!

I remember her talking about this casually a few times, but she's so good! I listen to her karaoke all the time. She's so easy to listen to. I feel like being able to be Okayu has let her be herself and her voice comes through and shines.

There's just something about her voice that comforts to those who listen, a cute and high singing voice is great and all for an idol, but a low and soft singing voice is rare and very soothing. This is what makes Okayu a great singer.

Honestly, I like both higher pitched and lower-pitched voices. Higher pitched is good for idols, but lower-pitched is more relaxing and "comfy" for lack of a better term.
