This was made when Whirlpool took pride in their products. We had one that lasted more than 15 years. My wife owned a hair salon and this machine did those towels and clothing for a family of four. I wish they still made these.
We had a Kenmore, and I knew we had a lint filter and couldn’t remember what it looked like. This is it!!! I was racking my brain, I always got a kick out of cleaning the lint filter. 😂 I loved that washer. That’s when clothes got whipped clean and actually used the proper amount of water to clean the clothes!! Not this gentle rub these HE machines do. 🤣🤣 Thanks for the video. I don’t know why watching a washer do it’s job is so fascinating to me. 🤭
If don’t say so myself, that looks like 70 Series I grew up with. Only differences my was the 1976-78 version. And mines was a 2-Speed/4-Cycle Machine with a Penta-Swirl Agitator with Fabric-Softener Dispenser on top of the agitator, 4 Water Levels, 3 Wash/Rinse Water Temperatures, Self-Cleaning Lint Filter, Off Balance Switch with Buzzer. And ours was white. -Charles- 24:35
My great grandma had kenmore washing machine and dryer before died it had the penta swirl agaiter. She died in 2000 the week of thanksgiving. Great grandma was born in 1905 i was the second of 7 great grand children.
@@vanni9283 That was the solenoid engaging to switch the transmission to agitate. Since there’s no other sounds from filling, it’s much more obvious on the smaller loads.
👍 I have this washer with this agitator. Is this the best agitator for this model? Are there other style agitators that will fit this model? Maybe an upgrade to a modern agitator with a built-in fabric softener dispenser?
It sounds like the belt/clutch isn't slipping when it shifts to spin? Over time I would think that would be incredibly wearing on the motor and belt to be abruptly grabbed and slowed down to a stop until the basket moves.
@@kingofspades531 It does a little, but the belt also needs adjusted to the fact that the pump that’s in it currently is not correct. I plan to get a new pump which should fix most of the issues.
@@DrummerboysWashersAndMore oh that makes sense then. So long as you know about it it probably won’t be an issue long term. It’s just too gorgeous and rare a machine so I figured I’d at least ask! The dual action in these are my absolute favorite. Probably hands down the most elegant to watch washers ever created.

Love the sounds of this vintage washer
18:16 the best sound of the induction motor and solenoid kicking in
Oh my gosh I can see the grey dirt in the suds already, what a great turn over

Not to mention world class cavitation during the drain and spin cycles!!!
It is so nice to see an old school washing machine and at least they can out whip the crappy washing machines these days and that's a fact.

I love the sounds of this machine! Also what was in this load? Just curious.
I believe it was just some small items, like socks and stuff like that.
@@DrummerboysWashersAndMore okay, I really love the wash action in this load as well.
do you still have the kenmore portable?
if so I'd like to see more videos of it
@@tyronlemons5203 I do, but there will probably not be new videos of it for a while. I will make new ones when I can.

We had one of these growing up. They will last forever, the only problem is agitator washing machines are hard on your clothes.
Hello why isn't the video latter today
@@tinafriesen7115 I am now away at college for the school year, so premiers will be less frequently
@@DrummerboysWashersAndMore was there a washing machine video last week Saturday
I love this washer, but the solenoid that engages the spin is way too quiet, no dramatic buzz at all. ☹
