you can play upto gba pokemon. technically you can play ds also but it's unplayable back than(last check dec 2019 on my over clocked vita) i just use Android with a switch like gamepad honestly it's my better for me also for gamecube,wii, 3ds, ds , some playable ps2
Sr DeSilva did any of those consoles have Bluetooth built into them? I didn’t think so. So yes, when I can pair Bluetooth headphones to a handheld system from 2012, and can’t to another handheld system in 2019, that shows how forward thinking Sony was its creation of the Vita. Not just that, it also had extremely overpriced memory cards which would be half the cost of the system or more for the high capacity cards, it had everything stacked against it from the get go and unfortunately it had no chance because Sony didn't try to turn things around instead of abandoning it
The answer to this sort of question ALWAYS comes down to ONE factor: *Which Games Do You Want To Play* If the games you want to play aren't on the console you're comparing to, then there is no point. And these are TWO different ecosystems of games. Very thorough and fair comparison. Good video :)
Honestly ya, it all comes down to how many and how good the games are, i like my vita but admittedly its quite difficult to compare to other device when i need to take my time and think of what game there are…….. i really do think switch wins in almost all scenarios but the vita is special in its own way i sometimes still play mine
Considering the PS Vita is 7 years old and even in comparison is pretty impressive! I personally prefer the nintendo switch but the PS Vita is def a very cool device!

"No new games" yet they have been nonstop releasing new games and dominating game charts all over the world. Last year alone they released 2 brand new IP with Astral Chain and Daemon X machina along with their long standing IPs like Luigis mansion, Pokémon and SMM2 etc. If anyone is a fanboy here its clearly you.
a 12 I mean, it is 2019. A browser was a selling point for the PSP, and it is pretty much a standard today. Why do we need smart fridges or smart toasters that can do that, idk other than “every other device can do it”
@@senorsnipey1595 yesss!! The 3DS though had a noticeably smaller library than it's predecessor the DS, it still had a pretty good amount of games to choose from and quality games. Still a respectable library. Also the 3DS is still portable. The Vita is also bomb. It's nice and very underrated. I'd say one of the most underrated consoles of all time right next to the Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo Gamecube. The only thing that sucked about the vita was the battery life and overpriced proprietary memory sticks. The Vita is still an impressive device, just unfortunately born in an era where smartphones are so advanced and did everything, add to that Nintendo pretty much had almost the entire share of the handheld gaming market. Vita means life in Italian and Latin, but it wouldn've lived up to it's name hadn't smartphones been so advanced. They gotten so advanced too quickly. Regardless, I agree with you! All three rock! It's a bliss to have all three because even the Nintendo Switch now has a really great library now and an impressive lineup. It's a great device, great graphics and the games are fun. Well worth it.
PSVita is the BEST portable fighting console , winning online matchs in mortal kombat 11 or DBZ on its OLED screen using remote play .. is priceless . Vita's D-pad is much better ... I wish we can get another sonys portable console
Everyone with any portable console: has a phone. I don't really see myself or many other people using the media aspect of portable consoles, but having more options definitely doesn't hurt. Vita can play music in the background while you play some game, that's something. Normally I want to hear the normal soundtrack, but being able to play any mp3 while playing is definitely cool.
The PS Vita 1000 model is king if you are referring to the overall package...remember if jailbroken, the PS Vita can play PSP, PS1 and also homebrew apps and emulators!!

I am a vita mascot when it comes to handhelds however, i have been attached to my switch more often ever since games like fire emblem , Astral chain and daemon x machina have come out....i still own two PS vitas and they are my most prized hand helds.
Switch and Switch Lite both have bluetooth hardware. It's just that it's not exposed to users for connecting extra stuff other than a handful of controllers, potentially due to security risks. If you install Android on your Switch - you can actually use Bluetooth as you would on a phone.
I absolutely love the Uncharted and Resistance franchise. The PSP had Resistance Retribution yes. But the PSVita has both Uncharted Golden Abyss and Resistance Burning Skies. Being able to play those 2 on a hand held at anytime anywhere automatically makes the Vita a winner compared to any hand held in my eyes. There are a lot of great games on the Vita as well
Honestly, the switch lite versus the PS Vita Africa would go with the PSV to this time, because because the light version of the switch just isn’t that great it’s too cut back from the original switch. That said I still think that Vita was the worst system to come out from Sony, and it’s overrated AF.
@@straightwarlock5341 Im a huge fan of the genre and in terms of quality switch is already ahead by far, it has octopath, xenoblade chronicles 2 and dragon quest 11. Those are, together with p5, the best jrpg of this generation.

But the switch has so many great games though. The vita was ahead of its time and unfortunately it didn’t reach the same success in the US as it did in Japan. I had a psp that I consider the best handheld I’ve owned. So when the vita came out, I bought it. Not a lot of fun games though compared to the 3ds which is why the vita sat on the shelf.
Yoooo I LOVE my ps vita and add to my collection all the time. In 10 years a vita will be EXPENSIVE trust me when I say cause the fan base is CRAZY for it
I just imported from Japan a blue Vita ps, I did not know how to do anything, but with several online tutorials, I was able to install CFW Enso H encore permanently and upgrade it to 3.65, for space issue I bought a sd2vita and a 400 Gb sandisk micro sd card. I don't have any space problems, I have a very wide library of PS Vita backups, PSP, PSX also of NES, SNES, GBC, GBA, GB, genesis, etc. Nintendo switch lite is a good console, but my opinion, right now is not the time to acquire it, it's too early, at least for me

I've just bought a vita and I'm really happy with it. Such a good deal for what you get and I'm kinda blown away how well it stands up against the switch even though its 7 years older.
Bought a Vita day one, bought Switch Lite day one. I don’t want to put one platform down. So I’ll just say this: Switch Lite is the greatest handheld of all time. It’s near flawless. The screen is still the biggest screen of any dedicated handheld gaming device, it’s HD, full button set with the best proper analogs of any handheld to date, gyro that’s actually used in games like Overwatch and Splatoon 2, it’s incredibly comfortable, and given we’re only 2.5 yrs in, it has one of the greatest gaming libraries of any gaming device period, be it handheld OR console. By the time the generation is over, the library will be absolutely ridiculous. And... nobody cares about a browser in a game console anymore. It was cool novelty in 2011 but now everyone just uses their phones.
Not everyone likes that, just because you like walking with one shoe doesn't mean others should, its 2019 and the switch is missing so many quality of life features found on a device that's 8 years older... that's just unacceptable.

They needed the capability of the vita when the 1st psp came out then this would’ve been big. Imagine if the vita had the same support as the psp when it first came out.
If it was released with more internal memory (maybe 16gb & 32gb models?) and micro sd compatibility then I believe the vita would have been much more successful.
I got a Nintendo switch lite recently and it’s great. Best handheld system I’ve ever had and has comfortable controls. Also PS Vita has been discontinued so there won’t be much out for that.

@@grimjimbo2059 nope, I've tried, the proprietary ps ones are the only ones that fit, work with the hardware, and can be connected. To use one of those you would need to open up the vita, replace it with a new reader, chip reader, and memory unit. All of that comes to around $200, considering you know how to do the process and where to find the right parts.
@@degemiga mate u do realise that you can get a micro sd card adapter that can fit in the game slot. The adapter only cost like £5 from ebay so in reality it cost basically the same as just buying a micro sd card. If it cost £200 just to get storage everyone would hate it. Please watch the video he even talks about it. Hacking the vita is free and takes about 10-15 mins there is no reason not to.
So essentially the PS Vita is better only if you're a person that has access to all the things listed with the Vita that includes a way to buy a vita from a 3rd party source, hack it to be able to put emulators on it, remote play if you have a stable internet connection, care more about playing older games than current AAA games, don't mind finding and buying expensive, yet low storage memory cards for the Vita, so on and so forth. There's a lot of 3rd party accessing in order to accomplish most of what you said to get the Vita to be "King" compared to the Switch Lite but I'm sure the Switch Lite will be picked up more than the Vita as of today.
none of what you said fits, vita isnt hard to find even new ones , they are just a japanese sku. and storage is easy its called sd2vita. hacking is extremely simple if you can read a simple on screen prompt. remote play works for me 14 miles from my house at work. and those "older" games are fantastic lol gravity rush, persona, and killzone alone make the vita something special. not too mention those of us who enjoy sports cant play on a switch...no football game no baseball game that isnt a joke. to each his own i suppose

Streaming games is not how the majority will want to play their games. Vita being the "King" of handheld is a heavily subjective statement.

It does have Bluetooth. but no it cannot connect to Bluetooth speakers or wireless head phones. the Bluetooth is used for connecting controllers, up to 8 at a time.
$79 PS vita hacked 64 gig is in its own class, comparing these systems is kind of silly. The system is so old yet will still be popular for years I LOVE IT!
I get the review for the form factor, the battery, and the screen. However, It is not fair to compare a custom firmware PlayStation Vita to a brand new Nintendo Switch Lite. Not to mention in order to have a successful remote play experience you still need to buy an additional accessory to give the PSVita physical extra buttons without using the back touch panel. Great video overall, just a bit unfair in some arenas.
I have a Vita , I just feel like the switch lite will also be a good buy for me as I’m seeing a lot of titles come to the platform that have peeked my interest. Plus I like it’s form factor compared to the switch which in my opinion looks like an ugly tablet with controllers when playing on the go

Before anyone ask, i owned a vita for roughly 8 years give or take and I love it. However, this review felt INCREDIBLY biased, they way you compare the two to heavily be in the vitas favor just felt wrong. The only point I give you is Bluetooth, the rest is either just wrong or completely exaggerated/ undermined. Even then, still glad you’re around to keep the vita alive :)
I've got a fully modded Vita 1000 with over 200gb of game roms on it. I'd have more but, that's literally all the Vita, PSP, PSX, SNES, GBA, NES, and Genesis games that I can think of downloading. My menu screen looks like a gaming museum. There's a reason Vitas are going up in value.
This video made me realize how frightening the PS Vita can be compared to other handhelds like it can do so much, it will literally keep you on the edge of your seat for hours on end. I've owned one for almost a year and was pretty much addicted to it.
No, psvita can't do nothing without crack and jailbreak, the system storage is 1gb, it was done for is the game need patches above 1gb, this video is talking about pirating, homebrew crap so it was not a fair competition at all Watch legit review instead! Mountain of apps is useless when the system has small storage space and custom memory card killed the vita even more
@@ranmouri5648 Dude, homebrew brings forth the system's true potential! The Switch is suffering from heating and analog drift issues so it's not all perfect system, either. The Vita has plenty of features that you can't find on the switch like party chat and cameras used even in video games, and so much more. It also supports multitasking reasonably well.

The Switch and the Vita delivers different experiences thus it is hard to pick one over the other but the Vita is able to run homebrew as well as access the online store and pretty much function as a nonhacked vita while the Switch can't. Plus given the system age and security measures, there is more you can get out of a vita than a switch. More importantly, the Switch is a solid gaming system meant only for gaming white the Vita can pretty much function as a multimedia device. I have literally watched so many movies and videos and anime on my Vita same as I would on a smartphone without facing any issues. There are many features packed into the Vita that makes it attractive as well. One point I would like to emphasize here is thst the Switch received plenty of love from Nintendo while the Vita was criminally put down and abonded by Sony and the Switch came after the full trial and errors of the Wii U. We know the Switch first came in the form of the Wii U which offered gamers the ability to play away from the screen. The Vita although a failure is pretty much built after the trials and errors of the psp where it fixed issues like the lack of a second analog stick and proper hardware setup. I am not arguing. Just stating.
@@ChrisPirillo147 ofc I'm taking it to heart cuz ive watched this guy vids and it doesn't makes sense most of the time but I'm not mad at you or anything About the multitask vita is nearly perfect until you have to close some of your game in order to view trophies mostly for latest version of the game, I should've known cuz I own 2 vita from 2012 until now Vita is multimedia device I get that but some of the services are already ends and some apps didn't run well too. In switch we got Hulu, TH-cam and digital comic app but most importantly to capture snapshot and record your in game video is easy enough, plus to post it on FB and Twitter takes no effort at all eventhough you don't have the apps in the main interface and I'd say it is decent enough. Switch don't have all the apps but definitely have some of that what you truly wants. It got game news too and can follow your favourite channel/game developer. Lastly about the joy con drift issues, it was a problem yes but not too everyone, I have 3 switch since 2017 and above and only 1 of my switch have joy con drifts issues and I can find easy tutorials on TH-cam how to fix it too. To be honest I don't like switch lite but I am really happy for those who buy it and like it bcuz it was for them, and I also happy for those who loved the vita cuz it was a great system too except got killed in cold blood, ironically vita means life but it was dead when sony did the custom memory thingy

Personally ill go with the 3rd option, the Switch v2. Has way better battery life, can play it Docked when I feel like it, play handheld, play tabletop, i even have a 4th option where i remove the joycons and play with the Switch in 1 hand & a single joycon/Pokeball Plus on the right hand(for LGP)i haven’t had problems taking it on the go.
Vita, kicking back with little big planet, Sly Cooper, jak, shooting with killzone mercenaries, résistance burning skies, PSP games, PSOne games. Vita man.
Just for the library, the Switch lite is better. But I'd 100% take the Vita over it (not that I have to, I got both) just because it feels like $1,000 in hand and is also more portable
Nintendo switch can support up to a 2 terabyte micro SD card Nintendo released a statement on that when the switch first came out right now you can buy a 1 terabyte micro SD card (1000 gig)
The switch is still growing its library of games, so its understandable some people don't want to jump in right away. The vita and 3ds have a ton of great titles you can try out so for a full experience those are the way to go.
Love my vita, but you can't say the PS2 Porta ran smoothly or had the same quality. The vita is capable of outputting that high quality, but the developers who ported those games tool lazy routes to get the sizes down. There are communities that have developed other means to get the quality of the ports up though
Yeah to me switch easily wins, an already huge variety of games available, still new games coming out in the future, HD graphics and the power to run open world games, I also own a vita that I haven't played for ages
I traded a ps3 n Psvita for a switch lite ... do i miss them a little? Sure ... but mostly they were sitting on shelf collecting dust ... i only really used the vita to cross play on my ps4... but i always thought vita had mostly corny games ... the switch sooo much better , games and graphics and thats all i need , fuk all that emulator shit, and browsers and backwards games, in this day and age why would i want to play a ps1 game👀👀👀🤷🏿♂️
There're 7 years of difference between both consoles, the the gap in performance in not that high, sony should learn of his fails, is a great portable with a company that treated his console very bad.

Honestly the vita still takes the win.. I’m not even bias I have a switch and I’ve had a vita.. the vita is just a work of art.. the switch feels basic and thrown together.. I wish Sony would continue to make handhelds because they do a really good job at it
@@dang7748 Agree totally. The vita is way more feature rich. Eg. I don't understand why nintendo gave the switch bluetooth capability for the controllers but overlooked the simple idea of making it able to connect with wireless headphones or speakers. There's also the point that a lot of people seem to be missing that the switch isn't just a handheld, it's nintendo's flagship console, of course it was marketed better. The vita was a work of art yet at the end of the day it was really only a beta test for what went into the workings of the ps4 controller. Sony keeps innovating, nintendo's last real big idea was the wii, and they haven't really improved on that since.
Vita definitely takes the cake, it has great(ish) library of games such as Persona 4 Golden, etc. It is a homebrew paradise, it has visual novles galore.
This is true, but there is something about the PSVITA that always brings me back to it! I love both handhelds, and take them almost everywhere with me since they're both so small. The PSVITA hacked is a great portable emulator with PSP, PS1, and PS Classic games. Literally can get any game for free that is on the Vita.
@@jessicahernandez6273 Yes, but you should make sure to get a screen protector for him. Also know that some people have reported issues with analogue stick drift but Nintendo is now fixing it for free if you call them.
Man I loved the Vita. When it came out it was such a cool system. Sadly Sony dropped it like a sack of rocks when it wasn't an immediate success. Thankfully I like JRPGs or else I wouldn't have had much to play on it. But I still wish it could have had more variety. If Sony had kept supporting it the Vita would have easily been as successful as the PSP, at least until the Switch came out, and even then it probably would have seen a slightly longer life, and maybe a successor.

There is NO Dreamcast emulator that runs native on the Vita. However, you can play Dreamcast, GameCube, Wii U games via Moonlight streaming from PC. That's how I've been playing BoTW on my Vita recently.
@@septarap3901 The N64 emulator that runs on Vita is called Daedalus. It runs natively on Vita and PSP. On Vita, just place the emulator and roms in the /pspemu folder and run through Adrenaline.
@@onenaghi no there is no native N64 emulator on the vita only through adrenaline PSP emulator. Apparently no one is really working on the development for a native N64 emulator (due to a certain software the n64 has that the vita doesn't), though if someone were to work on it and kinda work around that then the vita would without a doubt play N64 games at max resolution and would be sick tbh.
I just wish my Switch (or eventually Switch Lite) could get anywhere near my Vita Slim's battery life, especially standby battery life. That thing used some tech sorcery to stay on standby for weeks it seemed. I leave my Switch on standby for less than a week and it's dead.

My favorite plugin allows easy pairing to a DS4 natively with the Vita via Bluetooth. Plus the ability to make a dock using a rPi gives it the same features of the Switch.
Reason for not having a built in browser is because its usually open sourced and any malicious person can scan for vulnerabilities and sense it's built in it meaning there are opportunities to get out of the OS sandbox basicly for the non nerds out there a sandbox separates user data from OS or built in data, If you escape the sandbox you can modify the OS or crash it/dump its memory.
I have to wonder if Sony looks at the switch now and wish they would have tried harder, they pretty much killed a whole hardware line with the Vita destroying all the momentum they had with the PSP. The Vita could have succeeded, people still want handhelds and Nintendo proved it.

The switch lite also has Bluetooth, just not for headphones. But you can still use joy cons and other wireless controllers.
And after it gets hacked we will get full bt function. And who knows maybe video output to hdmi or like vita via usb to PC

So yes, when I can pair Bluetooth headphones to a handheld system from 2012, and can’t to another handheld system in 2019, that shows how forward thinking Sony was its creation of the Vita. Not just that, it also had extremely overpriced memory cards which would be half the cost of the system or more for the high capacity cards, it had everything stacked against it from the get go and unfortunately it had no chance because Sony didn't try to turn things around instead of abandoning it

Honestly ya, it all comes down to how many and how good the games are, i like my vita but admittedly its quite difficult to compare to other device when i need to take my time and think of what game there are…….. i really do think switch wins in almost all scenarios but the vita is special in its own way i sometimes still play mine
If you want to play oldies games, psvita is better, however, if you want to play modern games, switch wins.

@@senorsnipey1595 yesss!! The 3DS though had a noticeably smaller library than it's predecessor the DS, it still had a pretty good amount of games to choose from and quality games. Still a respectable library. Also the 3DS is still portable. The Vita is also bomb. It's nice and very underrated. I'd say one of the most underrated consoles of all time right next to the Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo Gamecube. The only thing that sucked about the vita was the battery life and overpriced proprietary memory sticks. The Vita is still an impressive device, just unfortunately born in an era where smartphones are so advanced and did everything, add to that Nintendo pretty much had almost the entire share of the handheld gaming market. Vita means life in Italian and Latin, but it wouldn've lived up to it's name hadn't smartphones been so advanced. They gotten so advanced too quickly.
Regardless, I agree with you! All three rock! It's a bliss to have all three because even the Nintendo Switch now has a really great library now and an impressive lineup. It's a great device, great graphics and the games are fun. Well worth it.

I don't really see myself or many other people using the media aspect of portable consoles, but having more options definitely doesn't hurt. Vita can play music in the background while you play some game, that's something. Normally I want to hear the normal soundtrack, but being able to play any mp3 while playing is definitely cool.

Switch and Switch Lite both have bluetooth hardware. It's just that it's not exposed to users for connecting extra stuff other than a handful of controllers, potentially due to security risks. If you install Android on your Switch - you can actually use Bluetooth as you would on a phone.
I absolutely love the Uncharted and Resistance franchise. The PSP had Resistance Retribution yes. But the PSVita has both Uncharted Golden Abyss and Resistance Burning Skies. Being able to play those 2 on a hand held at anytime anywhere automatically makes the Vita a winner compared to any hand held in my eyes. There are a lot of great games on the Vita as well

Honestly, the switch lite versus the PS Vita Africa would go with the PSV to this time, because because the light version of the switch just isn’t that great it’s too cut back from the original switch. That said I still think that Vita was the worst system to come out from Sony, and it’s overrated AF.

If you jailbreak a ps vita 1000 3G model, you can have an sd2vita, an sd adapter that replaces the 3g board, and a memory card.

But the switch has so many great games though. The vita was ahead of its time and unfortunately it didn’t reach the same success in the US as it did in Japan.
I had a psp that I consider the best handheld I’ve owned. So when the vita came out, I bought it. Not a lot of fun games though compared to the 3ds which is why the vita sat on the shelf.

My money is on the OG design of what the switch was ment to do.. nothing was wrong with it, portable, additional controller support, and docking.
I just imported from Japan a blue Vita ps, I did not know how to do anything, but with several online tutorials, I was able to install CFW Enso H encore permanently and upgrade it to 3.65, for space issue I bought a sd2vita and a 400 Gb sandisk micro sd card. I don't have any space problems, I have a very wide library of PS Vita backups, PSP, PSX also of NES, SNES, GBC, GBA, GB, genesis, etc.
Nintendo switch lite is a good console, but my opinion, right now is not the time to acquire it, it's too early, at least for me

Bought a Vita day one, bought Switch Lite day one. I don’t want to put one platform down. So I’ll just say this: Switch Lite is the greatest handheld of all time. It’s near flawless. The screen is still the biggest screen of any dedicated handheld gaming device, it’s HD, full button set with the best proper analogs of any handheld to date, gyro that’s actually used in games like Overwatch and Splatoon 2, it’s incredibly comfortable, and given we’re only 2.5 yrs in, it has one of the greatest gaming libraries of any gaming device period, be it handheld OR console. By the time the generation is over, the library will be absolutely ridiculous. And... nobody cares about a browser in a game console anymore. It was cool novelty in 2011 but now everyone just uses their phones.

I got a Nintendo switch lite recently and it’s great. Best handheld system I’ve ever had and has comfortable controls. Also PS Vita has been discontinued so there won’t be much out for that.

@@grimjimbo2059 nope, I've tried, the proprietary ps ones are the only ones that fit, work with the hardware, and can be connected. To use one of those you would need to open up the vita, replace it with a new reader, chip reader, and memory unit. All of that comes to around $200, considering you know how to do the process and where to find the right parts.

The adapter only cost like £5 from ebay so in reality it cost basically the same as just buying a micro sd card. If it cost £200 just to get storage everyone would hate it. Please watch the video he even talks about it. Hacking the vita is free and takes about 10-15 mins there is no reason not to.
So essentially the PS Vita is better only if you're a person that has access to all the things listed with the Vita that includes a way to buy a vita from a 3rd party source, hack it to be able to put emulators on it, remote play if you have a stable internet connection, care more about playing older games than current AAA games, don't mind finding and buying expensive, yet low storage memory cards for the Vita, so on and so forth.
There's a lot of 3rd party accessing in order to accomplish most of what you said to get the Vita to be "King" compared to the Switch Lite but I'm sure the Switch Lite will be picked up more than the Vita as of today.
none of what you said fits, vita isnt hard to find even new ones , they are just a japanese sku. and storage is easy its called sd2vita. hacking is extremely simple if you can read a simple on screen prompt. remote play works for me 14 miles from my house at work. and those "older" games are fantastic lol gravity rush, persona, and killzone alone make the vita something special. not too mention those of us who enjoy sports cant play on a switch...no football game no baseball game that isnt a joke. to each his own i suppose

I get the review for the form factor, the battery, and the screen. However, It is not fair to compare a custom firmware PlayStation Vita to a brand new Nintendo Switch Lite. Not to mention in order to have a successful remote play experience you still need to buy an additional accessory to give the PSVita physical extra buttons without using the back touch panel.

I have a Vita , I just feel like the switch lite will also be a good buy for me as I’m seeing a lot of titles come to the platform that have peeked my interest. Plus I like it’s form factor compared to the switch which in my opinion looks like an ugly tablet with controllers when playing on the go

Before anyone ask, i owned a vita for roughly 8 years give or take and I love it. However, this review felt INCREDIBLY biased, they way you compare the two to heavily be in the vitas favor just felt wrong. The only point I give you is Bluetooth, the rest is either just wrong or completely exaggerated/ undermined. Even then, still glad you’re around to keep the vita alive :)
The aqua blue Vita still looks great. Kinda wish the switch lite had that same color. The turquoise still looks clean though.

I've got a fully modded Vita 1000 with over 200gb of game roms on it. I'd have more but, that's literally all the Vita, PSP, PSX, SNES, GBA, NES, and Genesis games that I can think of downloading. My menu screen looks like a gaming museum. There's a reason Vitas are going up in value.
This video made me realize how frightening the PS Vita can be compared to other handhelds like it can do so much, it will literally keep you on the edge of your seat for hours on end. I've owned one for almost a year and was pretty much addicted to it.

The Vita has plenty of features that you can't find on the switch like party chat and cameras used even in video games, and so much more. It also supports multitasking reasonably well.

The Switch and the Vita delivers different experiences thus it is hard to pick one over the other but the Vita is able to run homebrew as well as access the online store and pretty much function as a nonhacked vita while the Switch can't. Plus given the system age and security measures, there is more you can get out of a vita than a switch. More importantly, the Switch is a solid gaming system meant only for gaming white the Vita can pretty much function as a multimedia device. I have literally watched so many movies and videos and anime on my Vita same as I would on a smartphone without facing any issues. There are many features packed into the Vita that makes it attractive as well. One point I would like to emphasize here is thst the Switch received plenty of love from Nintendo while the Vita was criminally put down and abonded by Sony and the Switch came after the full trial and errors of the Wii U. We know the Switch first came in the form of the Wii U which offered gamers the ability to play away from the screen. The Vita although a failure is pretty much built after the trials and errors of the psp where it fixed issues like the lack of a second analog stick and proper hardware setup. I am not arguing. Just stating.

About the multitask vita is nearly perfect until you have to close some of your game in order to view trophies mostly for latest version of the game, I should've known cuz I own 2 vita from 2012 until now
Vita is multimedia device I get that but some of the services are already ends and some apps didn't run well too. In switch we got Hulu, TH-cam and digital comic app but most importantly to capture snapshot and record your in game video is easy enough, plus to post it on FB and Twitter takes no effort at all eventhough you don't have the apps in the main interface and I'd say it is decent enough. Switch don't have all the apps but definitely have some of that what you truly wants. It got game news too and can follow your favourite channel/game developer.
Lastly about the joy con drift issues, it was a problem yes but not too everyone, I have 3 switch since 2017 and above and only 1 of my switch have joy con drifts issues and I can find easy tutorials on TH-cam how to fix it too.
To be honest I don't like switch lite but I am really happy for those who buy it and like it bcuz it was for them, and I also happy for those who loved the vita cuz it was a great system too except got killed in cold blood, ironically vita means life but it was dead when sony did the custom memory thingy

Personally ill go with the 3rd option, the Switch v2. Has way better battery life, can play it Docked when I feel like it, play handheld, play tabletop, i even have a 4th option where i remove the joycons and play with the Switch in 1 hand & a single joycon/Pokeball Plus on the right hand(for LGP)i haven’t had problems taking it on the go.

Absolutely no volume, I had my headphones plugged in.... the headphone jack is powered by the unit lol. That's volume.
The switch is still growing its library of games, so its understandable some people don't want to jump in right away. The vita and 3ds have a ton of great titles you can try out so for a full experience those are the way to go.
Love my vita, but you can't say the PS2 Porta ran smoothly or had the same quality. The vita is capable of outputting that high quality, but the developers who ported those games tool lazy routes to get the sizes down. There are communities that have developed other means to get the quality of the ports up though
Yeah to me switch easily wins, an already huge variety of games available, still new games coming out in the future, HD graphics and the power to run open world games, I also own a vita that I haven't played for ages

There're 7 years of difference between both consoles, the the gap in performance in not that high, sony should learn of his fails, is a great portable with a company that treated his console very bad.
I love both (not the Lite version), but when in modding I love the PS Vita more.

I don't understand why nintendo gave the switch bluetooth capability for the controllers but overlooked the simple idea of making it able to connect with wireless headphones or speakers. There's also the point that a lot of people seem to be missing that the switch isn't just a handheld, it's nintendo's flagship console, of course it was marketed better. The vita was a work of art yet at the end of the day it was really only a beta test for what went into the workings of the ps4 controller. Sony keeps innovating, nintendo's last real big idea was the wii, and they haven't really improved on that since.
Vita definitely takes the cake, it has great(ish) library of games such as Persona 4 Golden, etc. It is a homebrew paradise, it has visual novles galore.

This is true, but there is something about the PSVITA that always brings me back to it! I love both handhelds, and take them almost everywhere with me since they're both so small. The PSVITA hacked is a great portable emulator with PSP, PS1, and PS Classic games. Literally can get any game for free that is on the Vita.

Man I loved the Vita. When it came out it was such a cool system. Sadly Sony dropped it like a sack of rocks when it wasn't an immediate success. Thankfully I like JRPGs or else I wouldn't have had much to play on it. But I still wish it could have had more variety. If Sony had kept supporting it the Vita would have easily been as successful as the PSP, at least until the Switch came out, and even then it probably would have seen a slightly longer life, and maybe a successor.

There is NO Dreamcast emulator that runs native on the Vita. However, you can play Dreamcast, GameCube, Wii U games via Moonlight streaming from PC. That's how I've been playing BoTW on my Vita recently.
@@septarap3901 The N64 emulator that runs on Vita is called Daedalus. It runs natively on Vita and PSP. On Vita, just place the emulator and roms in the /pspemu folder and run through Adrenaline.

Apparently no one is really working on the development for a native N64 emulator (due to a certain software the n64 has that the vita doesn't), though if someone were to work on it and kinda work around that then the vita would without a doubt play N64 games at max resolution and would be sick tbh.
I just wish my Switch (or eventually Switch Lite) could get anywhere near my Vita Slim's battery life, especially standby battery life. That thing used some tech sorcery to stay on standby for weeks it seemed. I leave my Switch on standby for less than a week and it's dead.

My favorite plugin allows easy pairing to a DS4 natively with the Vita via Bluetooth. Plus the ability to make a dock using a rPi gives it the same features of the Switch.

I love the oled vita for playing dark games like the house in fata morgana and gravity rush. The neptunia games also really pop
Reason for not having a built in browser is because its usually open sourced and any malicious person can scan for vulnerabilities and sense it's built in it meaning there are opportunities to get out of the OS sandbox basicly for the non nerds out there a sandbox separates user data from OS or built in data, If you escape the sandbox you can modify the OS or crash it/dump its memory.
I have to wonder if Sony looks at the switch now and wish they would have tried harder, they pretty much killed a whole hardware line with the Vita destroying all the momentum they had with the PSP. The Vita could have succeeded, people still want handhelds and Nintendo proved it.
