- In his first foreign visit since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, President Zelensky travelled to the US to meet President Joe Biden.
In a historic meeting at the White House in Washington DC, the two spoke about extra support being pledged by the US to help the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
President Zelensky also presented President Biden with a Ukrainian captain's medal on behalf of those fighting in Ukraine.

There are a lot of elderly that dont qualify for food stamps and cant get out to these food banks where they give away outdated food. Yeah, there are a lot of fat people in the country, but there are a lot going hungry too. And some of these fat people are living off boxes if mac n cheese instead of healthy food, because that's all they can afford. There are homeless people in every American city. Its pretty hard to cook if you spend your nights in a bus stop bench. The homeless shelters are full in the winter. There are a lot of veterans and mentally I'll people living on the street because they can't take care of them sal es and there are no programs to help them. There are thousands of disabled people who cant work and have to do without for as ling as years while they try to get disability, and then have to live in less than $1000 a month. If you are one of the privileged ones, you should be thankful.
@@emmagreen6087 Yes there are barriers for the homeless and i agree the usa could do better in this arena. Some mission organizations are also helpful like Union Gospel Mission, but definitely there is room for improvement. I don't think supporting Ukraine is blocking the USA from helping its own though, i think this is a prioritization problem with Congress and churches. If we valued people higher we wouldn't have a significant problem in this area.
@@grantlikes2sing I would feel differently about sending money to Jkraine if it were going to help feed the people, or give them medical or blankets where theres no heat. But it's all for war and killing, prolonging the conflict and costing more lives and destruction in both sides. As long as there is war support, the less likely theyll come to some kind of negotiations. Jmo
