Obviously an updated line of wheelbases. They have run out of stock in their own store for the SC2 and resellers have been cutting prices and doing sales. It also looks like that might be a NRG QR too. 👍
It’s a new wheelbase with torque sensor on the shaft or in the steering wheel so that the driver/firmware software reads the drivers input torque for a positional feedback loop based system. This way, correct and dynamically changing momentum/inertia simulation is possible. The creation of the active pedal was the first step (which is also position feedback loop based) in this direction. These are true servo motors being used in positional feedback loop systems with torque sensors in the loop to measure resistance of the load (in the case of a wheelbase, the load would be the momentum state of the steering wheel and the torque being applied by the driver to the shaft) so that it can adjust the necessary output torque of the motor as needed to achieve hitting its required positional/rotational target by some time in the future. This is the beginning of the end for the traditional “force feedback” systems that are force targeting based instead of positional targeting based systems (the latter of which is/requires a true servo motor system). The use of “servo motors” in high end force feedback wheelbases up till now has not been to use them in a servo motor state but simply as high quality force output motors. Now they will start being used as they were truly designed to be, for positional feedback loop systems. This is how we get to truly 1:1 realism with the real world feeling of “force feedback” (but that name should be changed to “positional feedback” once it is invented for simulation purposes which it technically already has with the invention of the active pedal). For now, like the active pedal, the feedback loop operates outside of the game which can be ok but ideally for fully complete realism of simulation of reality, the game needs to be directly in the loop too but that requires changes to the games too to allow for that but it will happen eventually. To get a sense that there is something inherently fundamentally wrong with the “force feedback system” we’ve been using for the last 25+ years, the fact that the steering wheel can oscillate around the center when you're not death-gripping the steering wheel and without sufficient artificial inertia/dampening in the driver software is a boundary condition tell-tale sign of something fundamentally wrong with "force feedback" and adding sufficiently high enough damping/inertia in the driver can greatly help to alleviate it but then you suffer consequences from this band-aid fix everywhere else in the force feedback experience whilst driving. This problem is all a byproduct of the wrong feedback loop being used for simulation of the real/virtual steering wheel, steering rack and front tyres system.
If that is true, then that is similiar to what I've been talking about FFB desperately needs ever since DD wheels came out around 10 years ago. All the Nm numbers people are obsessed with mean nothing because the overall behaviour of the FFB is not realistic and often way overly powerful in all sorts of disproportionate ways. The FFB system feels way too much like the wheel is "driving you" and moving where it's been told to move, ie. it feels too much like an "active" system - which it is - rather than a passive system which is what real-life "FFB" is. I really hope what you're saying is true. It should be a step in the correct direction to address the issues with today's FFB - especially when using DD wheels - (regardless of game). I used to be very vocal about this on sim racing forums. BTW, hello DrR1pper. We used to speak on the RF2 forums.

Yes buddy, it is with belt tension two motors up to 40kg which do simulate G-Forces 🤛
