- Natasha and I head down to wee jasper and head out to Bondo state forest in search of a nice spot to spend a quiet weekend, and what a great spot we found right next to a creek and not far from Kosciuszko n.p.

Another great video Shad I like the way you keep it nice and simple, I have ordered the Snow Peak fire pit you use because it looks like a good piece of kit, not cheap but looks like it will out do my life. Still no rod it that creek LOL. Blessed with no rain but then again don't mind the rain as long as your not packing up in it.
Keep them coming mate and one day we might see you on the track.

We just done a similar trip Sunday and Monday at McIntyre hut not far from there, had the whole joint to ourselves, amazing what a couple of nights in the bush can do for ya hey?

Event Name Bondo State Forest: Partial Road Closure Notice - Nottingham Road

Description
Due to the structural damage of a log bridge over Oaks Creek, Nottingham Road will remain closed between Brindabella Road and Ridge Road until further notice.
Road closure signs will be in place for the affected section of road and traffic will be detoured via Nottingham Road, Ridge Road and Brindabella Road.
Is it still closed ?
I assume so as I just saw the notice on the state forests website when having a look at Bondo. @@shaddonaghue

1:34 That's a good idea for dust removal. I already have a Dewalt electric chain saw, I should pick up a small blower that could share a battery.

This will be great, was in Bondo just Sunday Monday, gave a fella a scare when he came up a steep bit of Broken Cart to find my van parked up clearing branches off the track.. he asked if it was 2wd.. 🤣

Hey Shad you’ve got me thinking about camp chairs and how much room they take up. Did you consider the Mountain Designs version or do you think the Helinox is the way to go? Cheers Todd
I just went the helinox because I don’t think the mountain design ones were out then or I hadn’t come across them . They do take up very little room

In the front i have superior hyperflex radius arms and psr 2 inch flexy coils, extended brake lines and relocated abs lines, running a superior 2.0 remote res 5 inch shock. Sway bar still connected

@@whitey321 i bought the 3 inch ones and it fixed the castor , i have a slight wobble at 80 now but might just be my tyres, they are pretty ordinary
Love the look of your chairs and little table with the wood on top. One Drifta chair... the other Helinox??? Little table just a stool with wooden board thrown on top?
Yeah it is, i still prefer the helinox while Natasha loves the drifta recliner. And yes the table is a cheap stool with a chop board i made on top.

@Shad Donaghue also another question (I love getting ideas from other campers in how they do different things), I had kind of given up on the cast iron pan thing because of not only weight, but because it is such a dirty thing to store. Just wondering how and where you store yours? In the Ulti or in the car?
@@lynnelivingstone825 just store it on top of my toolbag in drawer, but yes i know what you mean but i just keep coming back to cast iron for fire cooking. I am going to look for a canvas bag for it though as I would prefer it in the camper. I did keep it in the box it came in for ages until it deteriorated
@Shad Donaghue yeah I like the bag idea. Any idea roughly how wide yours is at all? It looks a good size to go with the Snow Peak (which we have)?

I don’t think so , because its just in the forest and the track in isn’t seasonal. But I’m not 💯 percent on that
Hey Off-road & shad, that area isn't closed as it's North of Dubbo flat camp, they close the park gate there June to October

Yes it is the snow peak fire pit , yeah its great but we have changed the grill mesh though. But we use that thing everywhere even at home now 👍👍🤠
What were the temperatures like?
They were actually fairly mild , we had about a low of 6 degrees celcius, and some nice days in the early 20s
I'm trying to convince my wife to head to the Snowy Mtns during autumn or winter. Difficult...we live in sunny QLD
We're heading south at the start of May. Was planning for Newnes, but this morning i saw your video of the free camp at Sofala on the Turon. It looked like a great spot
@@northerntrucker72 so we spent Easter at paddys river dam in bago state forest and had a few mornings negative 2.5 , it was chilly but really nice days
@@northerntrucker72 yeah there are some good spots around sofala and hillend. Bring some warm clothes and a good sleeping bag and you’ll be fine
