It’s amazing how many micro mics have come out since Hollyland Lark M2 made waves in the social media/TH-cam space. I think DJI nailed a pretty perfect package being so versatile with different camera setups, and adds a handy stereo/mono channel system. Hollyland Lark M2 can be used with many cameras of different types as well for about 60 dollars less. I bought the Lark, even though I understand the wind screen looks like a small pompom on your shirt, lol, and it does not have all the more advanced recoding options. I love the button size, and stickers to hide the logo, and the sound coming from the transmitters. And the price is so great, especially right now as of typing this with Black Friday sales.
I’m new to content creation, is the M2 a good mic to get or is there a better one I should invest in like one with a Lav port? I also want to use it outside, so how is it outside?
Those are interesting questions. Some are better for certain situations. I look at quality and also what I get for that price. I weigh the two really closely. I have the Hollyland lark M2 full combo kit now because Black Friday sales. The full kit gives you every physical option you could ask for, minus lav mics for around $100. I now have an iPhone 16 Pro Max so originally I was only going to get the USB-c version, but after watching reviews I found out that the camera receiver can do more than just be used with a 3 mil jack. It can also be used with USB-c. So The camera adapter was the reason I bought the full kit. More versatility. However it lacks in digital fine tuning and a nicer way to carry all the extra components. Also I love all of the magnetic attachments and I also record mainly in outdoor hiking situations for my very small TH-cam channel. I haven’t recorded out on trails yet and I think the magnetic options you have will hold. I also love love love the look of the Lark m2, especially with the matte black sticker. With all that said (app fine tuning, carrying ease, and attaching to you and someone else) I think DJI’s newest system is that sweet spot, and I think the price justifies all that. Plus DJI has a special Bluetooth connection that works so so well with the rest of their other products. As far as lav attachments I steer more expensive and go towards Rode’s Go II’s or the latest, the Rode Pros. I really really like that the mics come with it. The mics are REALLY good, the app is fantastic, and I especially love that the lav mics screw and lock to the transmitters. So you or I hiking, or someone who is more jumpy or active ensures the mics don’t disconnect. With that system you get WAY more functionality too, at a higher, again justified, price tag and a way more bulky design (again to allow for those extra premium functionalities. I have both the Lark m2 and the Rode Go II’s. I use the Rode indoor mainly and I will be using the larks for the small light weight and SUPER easy plug and play for more outdoor and quick shooting.
I’m still thinking about other things so I’m going to add that as well. DJI mic 2’s have been dang near every TH-camrs go to wireless instead of any of the Rode mics. It has… let’s say 90-95% of the same features as the Go and the Pro, but in a smaller form factor and price point. There are certain physical things you won’t get, but the software, sound and ease along with again working really really well with most of DJI’s newest and latest products. And if you later buy the Action Pro 2 or the Pocket 3 which are highly rated in their categories, the mini mic and the mic 2’s will sound the very best if you use the Bluetooth option, way Way better than if you use that function with any other brand. Plus I have heard very little frustrations when needing support help from DJI. Their ecosystem may be the safest and best place to save money and invest into. (I should be taking my own advice in the future, lol).
@@JarradShaw thank you so much! The only think with the Rode or the DJI is there expensive so I’m trying to find something that is budget friendly but still a good microphone. But through my research I’ve found that the rode and DJI are both really good options but for $400 it’s not something I can afford right now
@ Hollyland then will fit your budget and get you really good audio. Won’t break the bank account and give you something to use till you are able to save more for other gear and other audio options.
i got only one question. does it record on two separate channels? because that's the only thing stopped me from buying Lark M2

It's pretty cool Mam...Exactly Looks like Maono WM620 but Maono has no app support
Another great video!Could it work with the Gopro?
can the TX be used in Osmo action 4 without attaching the receiver?
1:15 Somehow the scene here is super cool, the river, birds, and the over the river view :D
I have bought the godox magic xt-1
It’s nice, I just picked up the Dji mic mini though 😂
How much
$93
You shouldn't put "review" in your title when it's a paid sponsor video. It's dishonest to the viewer, because you can't be unbiased.
Shut up Matt 😂.
I don't think "dishonest" is accurate here. The title would be more upfront, but she did say it right at the beginning of the video.
