My son bought me a set of 22g Simon Whitlock darts last Christmas. (My fav player) I've used them all year and improved my scoring significantly. You will surprised, the shape is perfect in my opinion for repetition. I thought I might struggle for a while as I've used standard shaped darts all my life, but no I love them. I'd never swap back to others now. 180s on a regular basis. I'd recommend to all.
I play the Whitlocks since a few years and love them. At the last World Championship I think, he played a Dart with this grip in front of the scallop. I liked it and my hopings got real. Thank you for your nice work, hope my writing was not as bad as my darts playing 😅 Greatings from Germany.
PS : if I'm the happy one who win this setup, we have to talk about shipping costs, I would pay them. Such a nice Dart and my first ever win, this couldn't stay in England 😅
thanks for showing this set interesting barrel design but should have a grip pattern over the entire barrel length nice color combination doesn't look bad thanks for the good review
I currently use the Peter Wright Black Racer darts which are similarly shaped, but center weighted. According to Winmau, these are rear weighted and might be even better for a rear gripper like me. Thanks for the review. 🙂👍
Recently he's using something similar to them you mention with widely spaced grooves and what appears sort of shark grip style and a scallop mixed in. Very hard to describe and he hadn't much success with them either.
I still want these darts, but one big letdown was when I learned about the gold coating being actual gold...I don´t think the gold coating will hold for long if you play much and often. Objectively too beautiful to play them, a dyed-in-the-wool showoff dart for the collectors among us.
No the gold wont last as its just plating, the ones he used to have when he first went to Red Dragon if I remember right had gold plating at front and that wore off but mainly just where they were held, looked patchy but was nice while it lasted, guess its easy enough to re-plate them if we want though :)
