No they are not the only ones and specially not death note aot is a masterpiece (after reading the manga) and death note is not and getting overrated day by day
To be honest Vinland really deserved at least 3rd rank or not at least less than that. The thing is , one need to have a strong seinen and mature mindset while watching it. Well this just my view as you mentioned it beforehand.

Tpn > Vinland saga season 1 because it was just a prologue , the story was pretty basic now tho in the manga it is godly afterwards but as standalone animes in the years its 4 or 5

no surprise, return to siganshina arc was mostly awaited before even the release of AOT S3 part 2 and i saw the hype in social media even before the release but the most good thing about it was it kept up with the hype and expectations of the crowd.That's the the best part of AOT, it won't let u down

My favorites in no particular order
The Promised Neverland - Great Psychological thriller I have seen since Monster. Loved the characters especially Ray. Emma and Norman were also really good and Isabella is a great Villian.
Mob Psycho 💯 season 2 - Watched both seasons this year. Was so invested in the characters especially Mob and Ritsu. Mob is one of the best written characters in the Shounen genre. My reasoning is that it is nearly impossible for viewers to get connected/attached to an OP character but this show proved me wrong. Also the animations and voice acting was on point. This is Studio Bones best work since Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and not only deserves to be Anime of the year but also decade.
Dororo - Loved the bond between Dororo and Hyakkimaru. Also loved the one/two episode characters. They were interesting in their own way. Only problem is the old man is barely in the show. Other than that it is absolutely fantastic to watch. Got me interested in anime taking place in old times.
Astra lost in space - The underdog of the year. This anime introduced me to the Space genre of anime and it did it's job marvelously. The characters and their chemistry is one of the best. Kanata is one of the best character of the series. Their journey was totally worth my time. Not only that but the series does not resort to setting up a Cliffhanger ending which is a blessing in disguise. Only problem is some assholes spoiled the twists in the comment section 3 episodes ago. If not for that I would have enjoyed the series more.
O maidens in your Savage season - So glad I picked up this anime. Another anime which was overlooked this year. This coming of age story was really well told. Loved the simplistic animation and the opening and ending. Interested in seeing more works of this creator.
Ascendance of a bookworm - This fantasy series was really wholesome. Looks like the Isekai genre is trying new things. Main is one of the best Isekai characters. I loved the medieval setting of this show. Really excited for the next season.
Chubyou Gekihatsu Boy - Really loved the idea of chunnibyous who don't take it seriously like some other series. Had a lot fun with this one. The cast was great. It may not be the best comedy anime but it is a really fun to just sit back and enjoy this show. Hope it gets another season.
Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun - Still ongoing. This anime is also great to have fun. This one is also an Isekai but with lots of fun characters and a catchy opening. Hopefully this one also gets a sequel after this season is aired.
Dr. Stone - Loved nearly all the characters. My favorites were Senku and Chrome. Loved the openings and endings. Hopefully we get more Taiju and Yuzuriha next season. This shounen anime could beat Boku no hero academia as my favorite shounen anime. Hopefully it's fandom does not become toxic like Boku no hero academia.
Skilled Teaser takagi san season 2 - Really had a great time watching this slice of life. Loved takagi teasing Nishikata. Only problem is it got a little bit repetitive which wasn't the case with former season.
Vinland Saga - My introduction to the Seinen genre. Did a great job on doing so. Maybe I will start watching more Seinen anime after this. Wit Studio did an incredible job with this. Loved Thorfinn's character but the best character of the show is probably Askeladd. He has a badass backstory and you could never tell what he is up to. The fights are also amazing. The action is fast-paced and the atmosphere is brutal. Hopefully another season gets confirmed after the airing of this one.
Attack on Titan season 3 part 2 - Watched all of Attack on Titan this year and finally understood why it gets so much hype. The mystery revolving around the Titans is always interesting to watch. The animation is great and the action is fantastic. Wit Studio hit home run twice this year - First with this and then with Vinland Saga. Only con of the series is Levi is not that good of a character IMHO. Really hyped for it's final season.
How can you say Levi is the only bad thing about attack on titan are you blind.

I WATCHED ALL OF THEM... And finished about 90% of them! Still watching dororo, I think we never learn, cautious hero, kemono michi, oresuki... Though they're like SAO they get your expectations high and end up being just above average, except for we never learn it stays funny and entertaining till the (or at least season 1, I haven't watched season 2)
