Don't you think that huge increase in domestic money supply via govt debt could be the main reason for rupee's fall. The debt went from 55 trillion to nearly 200 trillion now in 10 years. That money must have gotten into the pockets of corrupt officers, ministers and construction companies. They and their children must be spending it on foreign education, holidays and gold. All of which will push rupee into the forex market. RBI has been trying to slow rupee's fall but how long can you stop it if rupee money supply will increase faster than real GDP.

When it was the UPA government, it was simple. Now you need about half an hour story, mostly about US policies

Because their Boss Shekhar Gupta shines boots of Amit Shah and Modi daily and they have ordered him to say Rupee Depreciation is not important and relevant under Modi, It was a way to milk TRP by humiliation Dr Manmohan Singh. Now he has passed away and the trick of blaming Nehru doesn't work. Shekhar Gupta has come with the idea to boycott ISSUES that matter to people. BJP will route black money to pay luxury expenses of Gupta, Deal is donw.

India is a trade deficit country. Rupee is expected to fall sooner or later .......

Indian trade deficit is negligible compared to forex reserves in $. RBI sell ₹ to buy forex in $. Ruppee falls as simple as that.
