Great review! Very thorough and detailed. I think the reason for the 8 inch height is to make it compliant with AR 670-1 which is the Army’s uniform regulation.
I have a pair of these boots and looking to purchase another. Other the crappy laces, the complaints noted are valid, but not a game changer. I wear them pretty much all year round except in the rain. I also wear footie socks in the summer so I do not find the shaft material irritates my ankles at all.
The shoe lace i have see and had on 4 different us army military boots. Its a speed lace vs others very fast to lace up. they are good and strong but yes they do come untied ALOT if you dont dubble tie or stuff into your boot (army standard).
Dang I liked quite a bit of this except that lack of grip in the outsole I think I have to try the MINIMIL for that because it's minimal like this but has a vibram outsole
I’m sad to see this boot not being the one to fit everyone’s standards, considering that it lacks a lot of features that could’ve made it stand up to the other competitors, I appreciate this pair having tons of padding, but horrible lacing system (might replace the laces with 550D paracord, don’t know if it even fits), non-aggressive outsoles, lack of heel stability and lack of mesh padding around the heel and upwards to the opening and on the tongue, and no drainage holes just makes me think otherwise for this pair. I don’t know if Under Armour’s latest boots still have the same good things offered as the ones they’ve previously made, like the Jungle Rat.
Bro... straight up WRONG. A large, wide, spacious toe-box is a god-send. The toe-box on this boot is a pretty good start, but needs to be even WIDER. Not personal preference, it's about health and comfort.

I can vouch for the traction on the Belleville mini-mil. Super grippy.
I personally prefer light weight boots so I actually use these for garrison and then I have a pair of Oakley Light Assaults I use for the field.
Any thoughts of the Reebok trailgrip tactical and the Reebok sublite in coyote?
Haven't had a chance to review those yet, but will add them to my to do list!
How much heel drop, and is the toe box wide?

What is the heel drop of this boot?
Can I use these boots if I do electrical work??

Have you ever walked more than a mile on anything other than pavement?
@@UltimateSurvivalGear ran 300+ miles in these over 2 years. They are barefoot shoes under AR 670-1
looks like a barefoot style boot
I think that's what it's suppose to be... but alot of people don't know what BAREFOOT footwear is.
