    Detachable stinger is usually so that you can use a stuffer to make the opening into the silencer narrower afaik.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you're the first one to get it in the comments. 190mech on the forum said the insert that goes in before the stinger goes on is a "Fath Nozzle". Helmut Fath came up with the idea (long ago) as a way to adjust pipes while racing without having to cut and weld/braze.

    Really? You can't compare the two pipes when you has a s*** connection at the flange. With that big of a miss match, ofcourse the stage 6 is not gonna make more power. The return pulse of the pipe is getting screwed by that abrupt wall from the getto rigged flange.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  ปีที่แล้ว

      FYI, S6 says to use their flange if using the pipe with other kits. I don't disagree with what you're saying, but if other people would like to take their time and money to try this I'm all for it. I was trying not to modify a good pipe or cylinder expecting that it's never going to be the best option. The Otto pipe that Ryan has allows the Malossi flange to be used so it's easy... but all I had to go on was pics. Don't see anyone else posting much about these things so I tried it and actually shared the info I have. I'll measure the pipe at some point and that will go into a pipe database on the forum as well.

      It's an RC-One. 8.1 pipe that he was told was custom for the RC1, but really no details are known by the owner. 34mm PWK and Malossi intake for the bigger carb. Otherwise it's the RC-One setup. It goes, but I think mine could keep up with a lighter rider. I couldn't get him to spend more time testing the pipe to see if it was really doing much for him, but at least I think it is working like the S6 exhaust and making a wider powerband so it would probably see higher speeds and the 34mm may help there.

    Yo good to see you're still scootin'! I recently bought a 'KRM' 90cc Silencer (French made)... and the quality is like no other can I've seen. Solid, solid build quality and there are are few different color schemes too. More importantly they make them in various 'cc ranges (eg 50-70 or 70-90cc). Nearly wasted my money on a Yasuni!

    Funny that you made this video cause I happened to get the "FL100 drag version" for the Malossi and I am having to re-braze a different header piece to use the Malossi cylinder flange.. Stage6 had the best price and when attempting to contact other pipe manufactures that do have specific 94cc Testa Rossa pipes i.e HK, ST etc they do not respond to those overseas in America.

  • @hookaharehipster
    @hookaharehipster ปีที่แล้ว

    Very interesting to see some other pipes tested. Ive never thought the original exhaust with the rc-one kit was weak. If anything it does have a smaller usable power band than say a c16 on a 70cc but over all it is a very usable pipe even for around town riding. Like you were saying in your last video, this engine isn't by any means practical but surprisingly able to put around town when you want to take it easy. Second the comment about the Zuma being wheelie happy with the rc-one too. Its hard to keep mine on the ground over 1/4 throttle at take off.

    section variations in the exhaust manifold have the effect of creating turbulence and can cause incandescent gas pockets to re-enter as well as decreasing the efficiency of the expansion.
    Here is a translation from famous Italian book: "Elaborariamo il 2 tempi" - Facchinelli (page 153)
    "The part that goes from the port to the exhaust manifold coupling is not

      I don't run a thermostat. Actually just replaced the pump (with the same pump again), which I'll talk about in a future video. Overall, I'm pleased though. It's mostly trouble free. My charging system makes it a little worse because it will shut down over 15V and I can't get this thing properly regulated so I have to turn more lights on if I'm at high RPM for long. That's not really a complaint about the pump though and prob best that they have that safety built in.

    How’s the charging now with no kart pump

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  ปีที่แล้ว

      It charges well at high RPM. Doesn't charge much at all at low RPM. The Zuma regulator won't regulate it well enough. I tried Chinese stuff and a Tomos regulator that was recommended to me, but the Zuma is at least as good as any of them. I have a halo light and the actual headlight. In the daytime I'll use the halo if I'm not at high RPM much and then turn the headlight on when the revs are up cruising faster to keep if from going too high. The pump shuts down over 15V so otherwise I'll notice warning lights coming on from heating up with the pump off. Sounds complicated, and it's not ideal, but it doesn't bother me.
