Robert, you're an excellent teacher. I just recently purchased a TI-84 CE Plus, as I have always used a TI-89 that I've had for over 20 years. I purchased the TI-84 because all the students I tutor, use TI-83 or TI-84, and I would like to be able to show them how to check their answers using a calculator. I have also seen many videos for writing a program to solve polynomials. I suspected there should be a program already on TI-84 to do this. You are one who performs this correctly. Thank you so much!
Thank you! While I can do factoring on paper, it takes a long time. And I tend to make "dumb mistakes," which as anyone knows, throws an entire equation off. I just bought a 'fancy' TI-84 Plus CE calculator, and while my math tutor at college did show me how to use the app, I am still unused to the new 'toy' and forgot how to do it!
Robert, I can’t thank you enough for explaining how to use this calculator’s functions! I think you’ve saved my grade! I have a question though. I entered 5x^2-55x-300=0 and the x values are consistently opposite. The calculator displays x1=-4 and x2=15. The correct answer is +4 and -15.
I showed this to my students in my chemistry class to help them check their solutions roots but they still have to show all their work for full credit.
Awesome videos! Is there a way to find the area between two curves from the graphing itself? How to use the polar mode/graphing and how to select and find the area?
Hi Rob, when I click on the apps button only finance shows up. I have a TI-84 Plus CE but none of the other options are showing up as well. Do you have any idea as to why this is happening? Thanks!
Hi Claire, one solution is to update the Operating System (OS) of the TI-84 Plus CE and choose the update with the Apps Bundle included in the update. I have a TH-cam video on how to do this. The video is called "How to Update the Operating System of the TI 84 Plus CE Graphing Calculator" and is located at:th-cam.com/video/R_7F4n4dKCU/w-d-xo.html Please let me know if this works or if you have any questions about updating the TI-84 Operating System.
+Cynthia Reed It has been a year, so I don't know if you still need this information or not. In case you do, or if anyone is scrolling the comments does, this is the reason: The calculator gives the answers for the equation SOLVED for 0 (zero.) That would make the factors of X^2+2x-8=(x+4)( x-2), which is what you got by doing this manually. (x+4)(x-2)=0 solves to x=-4 or x=2. If all you need for your calculation is the factors, then you need to mentally translate the x=-4 and x=2 back into the factors (x+4)(x-2).
Press the APP Button. Go to 8 or 9 that should say PlySm1t2. Then under that is the poly root finder. If you can not find it. You may need to update the operating system (OS) of your calculator. There are TH-cam videos on how to update the OS.
Couldn't you just graph it in the first place? I'm not implying anything, but what is the purpose of this app? Is it strictly for these equations, or for something more complex?

Learning so much on this channel about my new calculator. Saved my life...and my finals score!
I have a precalc test this Thursday... this will save me a literal ton of time. THNX!!!
Thank you for the clear, concise explanation!
Thank you. The shortcut is extremely helpful.
you just saved my life. thanks!
THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY LIFE WAYY EASIER!!!!
I showed this to my students in my chemistry class to help them check their solutions roots but they still have to show all their work for full credit.
Thanks ganna get an A+ on this unit now 😂
Just passed mine with a 92%😎
Thank you Robert
Thank very much good sir, long may you prosper
Found and remembered where to find this app! Thank you!
So awesome! Bless you, sir!
You saved my math grade. Thanks!!!
good explaining method Sir
My calculator only shows finance, but none of the others/ do you know what the problem is
Awesome videos! Is there a way to find the area between two curves from the graphing itself? How to use the polar mode/graphing and how to select and find the area?
Thank you!!
U just saved my life. Thanks
I need to solve in complex you saved my life thank you sir ✌✌
Thank you for sharing!
You are the man. Thanks very much! Great way to check my math.
This helped me alot. Thanks!

Very slick
question: manually, the factors are +4 and -2........the middle term is positive....what gives?

why does your calculator switch to a+bi mode when you select a degree greater than 3?
Hello this video is godsend
Buh my calculator does not recognize negative numbers any help please
How do I keep it from going to decimals I want a fraction with square roots
What if i am only factoring and simplifying, such as t^2 - 5t - 14 , the problem doesn't equal to zero
Kickless Los the =0 is just an expression... the only way to find the correct "answers" for "t" is that the equation ends up equaling 0. t= -7, and 2.
you just subtract or add whatever x equals to get like for this example (X-7)(X+2)
how to perform Alexander Graham Bell.
Mine is not showing the formula at the top it just says polynomial- order 2 ?
Thank u so much, that's very helpful!
Scale problems if wrong scale,
Very helpful for sat 2 math test, thx
How to get to poly root finder?

who knew....thanks...
what do i do if it doesnt equal 0
make it equal 0
HEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WIOOOOOOOOOOO
The design for this calculator is so confusing I require a youtube video to understand how to use it. Think about that.
