I must say this game is one of brilliance. It has no direct plotline but instead gives you the puzzle pieces and lets you decide where to fit them. In between it showers you with a collage of haunting and calming ost's, fun secrets, and disgusting images. Unlike other games it does not need to question your morales, have the best gameplay features, or fan service. Nothing wrong with those things but all this game needs to do is get you thinking. A lot of what-if's and thoughts of why anything in this game happens or exist. I'm just rambling on though- anyways it's a nice ost!

I played Yume Nikki years ago, and the weeks i spent playing it felt like a short dream, but felt like months, the soundtrack and liminal spaces, combined with the surreal imagery, made me feel like a child lost in an empty complex with nothing in it, but the more i search the more everything around me distorted into what my head made of the world around me, how simple our fears can be, how complex they really are, and the feeling of remembering everything you see, even though it's all new to you. I even tried to make sense of the game with a small notebook, writing numbers, locations to revisit, but none of it mattered, because everything looped around endlessly, you never knew where you would end up, or how. In my eyes this is the best and purest adventure game ever. An adventure isn't about knowing everything you come across, it's about facing the unexpected, and the unfamiliar, even if it's a warped version of something that feels familiar. You never consciously thought up this stuff, your thoughts coilesed into something that amplifies your fears and views of how you truly interpret the world.
This track in particular soothes me so much. Whenever I think about Yume Nikki, I think about this song. It has also made me kind of associate the game with comfort, as strange as that sounds to say.

This makes me feel like if I wasn't alone This makes me feel like if no matter how bad things can get, it'll be all okay This makes me feel in peace with myself Maybe, perhaps, probably, my soul is just getting corny, but this is what the song really makes me feel and is very comforting, specially if you gotta cope with any troubling inside your mind.. Ah, and I also wanna say that I really want to give the game a try myself! :)

Oh wow! its 2020 but this was uploaded in 2013 and only now am I finding this through a weirdcore playlist.... I've never heard of Yume Nikki but this song is very beautiful!
This reminds me back when I lived at my old house and went to my school with all my friends because I used to listen to this track when I was at school or at home and just feel calm... Now I feel sadness, wishing it could just all be a dream and I would still live there, with my dog...
I listened to this the first time while on a 2nd plat DXM dose and it made me incredibly happy and sad at the same time. It's such a simple piece but I feel like I could listen to it forever.
Wow! The whole Yume Nikki soundtrack reminded me of Earthbound. In my opinion, Yume Nikki is a very, scary game and I love it! If I heard this song one more time, I would like the video and put it on my Favorites playlist.
Shanell Noble VGCP/TPNG old comment but, yes kikiyama is proprably loves earthbound, Yume Nikki is a baby of earthbound, LSD Dream Emulator and Silent Hill
@@ryuke8866 The only way Yume Nikki could be a baby of LSD would be if kikiyama played LSD when Yume Nikki came out which is higly unlikely because of how poorly it sold and how obscure it was up until being rediscovered by the internet in the early 2010s. It never was popular because of how weird and niche it was.
Yesterday 20:36 I was on the airport waiting for my next flight, and there was a big area next to the restrooms that was absolutely empty. Not even a single soul there. The first thing that came to my mind was this track. I even took a picture, looks like something I would see only on that "analog horror" videos on internet.
I love this song!! It's so mesmerizing!! I didn't like Snow World that much when I first started playing this game... but now I do. It's so cuteeee! It's like a little snow village where people live in peace and harmony. So relaxing. Reminds me of family and fun times.
I like how this soundtrack can sound completely different after listening to it for quite a while. Instead of the main track I swear I'm hearing a second or third beat on top of the main track itself. And to me that makes the song way more interesting and gentle to my ears.
Don't know why but the snow area is one of my favorite place in Yume Nikki. I feel like i could stay there forever. The ost and the place makes me feel like i'm al alone just walking through the snow area
From personal experience growing up: lost innocence is when winter brings upon depression, instead of the bountiful joy it used to. At least… that beautiful memory of innocence returns whenever it snows, and it becomes much more beautiful, but melancholic.
"When I was six I was at my great-grandma's house. It was 25th of December, and since I live in Russia, I was looking forward to the New Year celebration. I was looking outside and saw a shilouette of a person. It was very short - a kid of my age back then probably. When he (it turned out it was a boy) approached, I saw that he was naked completely. He waved at me. I was confused and asked my grandmother whether we could let him in - he must be cold. But she did an unexpected thing. She told me that whatever I do, I mustn't turn away from him under any circumstances. I didn't and soon he walked away. When my grandma finally told me to turn away, I did and immediately fainted. I woke up at home four days later. I had trouble speaking and walking, but soon it ended. Still don't know wtf happened."
maybe this is a manifestation of mental issues or something similar. you told your grandmother that you see a naked child, although he simply was not there, and in a very strange way she decided that you should not turn away
@@kerekobar To me it seems more like some sort of folklore entity, the rules make me think of some sort of fey and it very much reminds me of those sorts of accounts. But I am unlearned in russian folklore, so I don't know. You could be right too.

This song makes me feel like I’ve commit mass murder after having the biggest breakdown, after loosing everyone I’ve cared. Probably an alternative universe but still, that makes me unsettled.
this is my favorite world. the music and atmosphere reminds me of a dream i had as a little kid where i was in a liminal space mall. completely alone. i had no idea why that dream was so special to me, and then i found out about liminal spaces. so much nostalgiaaaaa
Listened to this while heading to McDonald’s at 4 am in freezing weather for a girl who was cheating on me… I remember the drive feeling so horrible, I was shivering so much and I was so miserable.
@Rei rei🌲 time heals dawg!! i don’t even think about her or those times much anymore. just remember you are going to die someday. this all ends. with or without that person! keep moving
this would definitely match my computer world game idea where you’re alone but you chose to be in a digitized world of nothingness and it just fits so well
I feel like I’m on top of a high, snowy mountain at night. The world stretches long outwards past my view, yet not a person in sight. I can see towns in the distance… but somehow I know they’re already empty.
I once fell asleep with this playing in the back. I ended up dreaming that I was waking up in a store in an empty town at night. The sky was a dark red and snow was falling endlessly. There wasn’t a single soul or even a sound. I was just roaming through this ominous setting, which was somehow oddly peaceful! I love this soundtrack!
i remember listening to this on repeat when i was intermittently sleeping over at my uni library because home was unbearable. on my night time walks to and from there, in the dark empty library with the occasional check up by security guards, and while i went to sleep. i just needed one constant. one cotrolled thing. one thing to set my mood so it wasn't all over the place.

"Dogs are so weird, if you hurt or neglect them, they'll still feel safe around you, no matter how much damage you caused to them."
-yours truly.
This hit hard, I’ll be giving my dog a nice scratch behind the neck (he loves that) next time I see him (in the morning)
idk i think traumatised animals do exist
I love this song, when I listen to it I feel like an innocent and curious child, it's a feeling of enchantment and peace...
This makes me feel like if I wasn't alone
This makes me feel like if no matter how bad things can get, it'll be all okay
This makes me feel in peace with myself
Maybe, perhaps, probably, my soul is just getting corny, but this is what the song really makes me feel and is very comforting, specially if you gotta cope with any troubling inside your mind..
Ah, and I also wanna say that I really want to give the game a try myself! :)
This gives me weirdcore vibes, I just wanna....
You woke up to cold breeze hitting your face, so you sit up on the wooden-made bed. You find what appears to be the silhouette of someone, they wear lavender sweatpants, as well as a white thee. You try to focus on the 8 eyes that covers their face as if they were one cyclops eye... They feel very much familiar.......
-"Hey! Seems like you're back. How was the real world like? Any nightmare?"
/Pick a answer!/
[. . .] >[Well...]
*‐"Well, you see..."*
...
-"That sounds scary! But fear not, you are safe here. In this world... with us."
...

>[...] [Yeah! I trust you and I promise with my life I'll never leave ever again!]
... You said nothing.
-"Anyways, I made breakfast while expecting your presence..."
"...@%$+ and *%&=8 are sleeping, let's go wake them up."

To be continued..

I love this song because it may have a creepy vibe but it also under the right circumstances this song can be very comforting
This has such a bittersweet feeling almost a piece of calmness as you slowly fade out from life to death
feels like this will be a good ringtone
It's my ringtone, heh.
Almost all songs in Yume Nikki work like amazing ringtones, because they are quite short and looping, but soothing, which imo is a perfect ringtone.
Listening to this while snow shoveling a driveway in sundown would be amazing.
Oh wow! its 2020 but this was uploaded in 2013 and only now am I finding this through a weirdcore playlist.... I've never heard of Yume Nikki but this song is very beautiful!
Please play it.
i am 6 months late but do what the above reply says, it's pretty great if you're looking for weirdcore
My favorite BGM in the game. It's so peaceful.
It's strange how this song makes me feel, a feeling of being lost, longing, sadness and at the same time a comforting feeling, i dont know
This reminds me back when I lived at my old house and went to my school with all my friends because I used to listen to this track when I was at school or at home and just feel calm... Now I feel sadness, wishing it could just all be a dream and I would still live there, with my dog...
Yume nikki is a great game when it comes to creating a nostalgic feeling you had when playing old rpg games like Earthbound.
@@Deathfromabove5 It's literally said to be inspired by LSD.
@@Deathfromabove5 There is absolutely no way Yume Nikki wasn’t inspired by LSD Dream Emulator
Yesterday 20:36 I was on the airport waiting for my next flight, and there was a big area next to the restrooms that was absolutely empty. Not even a single soul there. The first thing that came to my mind was this track. I even took a picture, looks like something I would see only on that "analog horror" videos on internet.
This music is good, cute, non-scary music.
Finally.
You found the real peace!
I love this song!! It's so mesmerizing!! I didn't like Snow World that much when I first started playing this game... but now I do. It's so cuteeee! It's like a little snow village where people live in peace and harmony. So relaxing. Reminds me of family and fun times.
surreal vibes I get from this ost even though I never played the game before
i thought the same thing and ended up playing it. same with the silent hill series.

I like how this soundtrack can sound completely different after listening to it for quite a while. Instead of the main track I swear I'm hearing a second or third beat on top of the main track itself. And to me that makes the song way more interesting and gentle to my ears.
Confermo
Don't know why but the snow area is one of my favorite place in Yume Nikki. I feel like i could stay there forever. The ost and the place makes me feel like i'm al alone just walking through the snow area
this song just somewhat makes me so comfortable and happy. it reminds me of playing in the snow or hanging out with people.
From personal experience growing up: lost innocence is when winter brings upon depression, instead of the bountiful joy it used to.
At least… that beautiful memory of innocence returns whenever it snows, and it becomes much more beautiful, but melancholic.
Gives me the feeling of mystery and reminds of something you would hear in a liminal space video
Blasting this rn as the powers been out for like more than 16 hours in austin......its been helping me calm down :)
This music makes me feel so peaceful and comfortable ❤️
You could be right too.
tututu tututu tututu... a song for stories
yeah
Play this on a snowy weekend morning and enjoy a nice hot drink to this song while staring out the window to achieve a tranquil state.
Now im gonna change the season.
*claps*
Splendid
How surreal and lovely
This song evokes the image of a moment of peace, that could be shattered and torn away at any moment.
You can tell "Remember To Be Patient" was inspired by this.
this song is the only one in song among the other worlds that can be called a song this song never changes yet despite this it works calm collected just like the snow everything sleeps endlessly with no change this is haven amongst darkness not the most ideal but at least its something the snows serenity is beautiful
When I first heard this tune I thought it was the best thing I've ever heard
This song makes me feel like I’ve commit mass murder after having the biggest breakdown, after loosing everyone I’ve cared.
Probably an alternative universe but still, that makes me unsettled.
i remember being creeped out by this gloomy melody initially, but now i find it very calming and relaxing
This song feels cold, like how snow is cold. This game has such cool music.
this is my favorite world.
the music and atmosphere reminds me of a dream i had as a little kid where i was in a liminal space mall. completely alone. i had no idea why that dream was so special to me, and then i found out about liminal spaces. so much nostalgiaaaaa
This is nice, I see so much in my head while listening. How I stumbled upon this is..........well lets dive into some imagination for a while.
Just played the game, this soundtrack makes me feel nostalgic, yet for nothing.
Listened to this while heading to McDonald’s at 4 am in freezing weather for a girl who was cheating on me… I remember the drive feeling so horrible, I was shivering so much and I was so miserable.
bro u good?
@@deadchannel408 LMAO I forgot I even commented that but yeah dude she’s long gone. But man what a surreal feeling this song brings back!
@@Unfriggginbelievable damn bro, sorry
@@Unfriggginbelievable damm man well atleast she's gone out of your life
@Rei rei🌲 time heals dawg!! i don’t even think about her or those times much anymore. just remember you are going to die someday. this all ends. with or without that person! keep moving
Listening to this during a snowstorm at night feels so surreal and slightly uncanny at the same time.
words can't describe the experience of wandering madotsuki's dreams
this would definitely match my computer world game idea where you’re alone but you chose to be in a digitized world of nothingness and it just fits so well
I feel like I’m on top of a high, snowy mountain at night. The world stretches long outwards past my view, yet not a person in sight. I can see towns in the distance… but somehow I know they’re already empty.
Why is the music still playing in my head!
Someone: what kind of music do you like
Me: well, it's complicated...
I love this soundtrack!
damn you got dlc
free dlc fr
I love the music in this game so much
never played this game before but i fell asleep in discord vc while listening to this so that's cool
This is becoming the soundtrack to my life
successfully fell asleep to this yesterday
One of my favourite soundtracks from the game.
i remember listening to this on repeat when i was intermittently sleeping over at my uni library because home was unbearable. on my night time walks to and from there, in the dark empty library with the occasional check up by security guards, and while i went to sleep. i just needed one constant. one cotrolled thing. one thing to set my mood so it wasn't all over the place.
