I'm not too sure I agree with you, but your heart is in the right place. We should be able to be seen without causing a distraction or "Target Fixation" as my dad puts it. That's why I like lights that pulse is stobe. The city I live in has very bad road maintenance. Though they are trying to get better. At night I need a wide beam and long battery. I try to get as bright as I can afford but angle it so I don't bother the drivers.

That was a very long advertisement. What happened to the night time testing?

    This video has several issues:
    - background music
    - no second part in five or six weeks
    - i guess MTB mode has wider beam, whereas road mode may have limited beam intensity upwards (thus limited reach) and to the left, correct? Maybe I missed this information in the video. I guess headlamp or combination with headlamp is a must on MTB in the night anyways, because sometimes it's necessary to see what is around, rather than having only forward vision
    - it would be nice to show it in the night, show beam patterns, angle, show annoyances if there are any (such as lose mount, no rainproof etc.)
It's good because it shows that brighter is not better and that it can be distracting for drivers.

For commuting I use two TN12 at around 400lumens + - inaccurate readings. This is during the night time, I also have them on strobe which goes to around 900 tested , (1000+ advertise) during the night to keep up with vehicles. The key is to point them in proper and correct angle. For rear light I don't use a red light but also another TN12 angled to lightup my bike, in 400lumen mode.

I have raveman pr1200, almost a year now. I don't use day time light on bright sunlight now, but soon in at autumn, I will. I really need it at winter. pr1200 is good in mtb mode on roads without other traffic. middle power(600lm) is perfect. In road mode , the light won't reach far. Even when adjusting it. And it lids road in close range too bright in road(low beam) mode. That way you blind yourself. Especially at sunset.. when it slowly gets darker. In those conditions I felt that mtb mode is much better with weak settings. I think it should not blind that much on weak seting even on mtb mode. Because that 300 or 600 lumens. Actually half of those lumens still are coming from low beam lenses.
I wish there was 2 remote buttons instead of one. That I could switch also between modes too.. Ideally it would be so that one button on left side handlebar and other at right side. When holding right button and press left it would go to hi beam and when holding the left and press right to low. With left could switch betwen modes from darker to bright and with right one opposite way.. That would be cool. I could not switch between modes in dark at winter. The road was snowy and slippery I had to watch road. Can't take eyes off from road, can't take one hand off from handlebar.. I might have dazzled some drivers turning my first rides with it because had it in mtb mode.. After that I at least mounted the remote button too.

can i buy pr1200 is this good bright or what !!! or any light available in this price range please. tell me sir

    • @Hardi26
      @Hardi26 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Kgaurabdas Was the question to me, or to sickbikker? Sorry I'm not seller of lights. So I can't tell you whetter you should buy it. But I try to tell my experience with this light, that I have had about 2 years now. Also that I would like something better, but this one does the job too.. But I really would like something more motorcycle light like powerful.. That would let me to decent 50Km/h in darkness on road..
But If you don't ride too fast, then this one probably does the job too..
I'm still not sure wether it could dazzle oncoming traffic in mtb mode at 600lm settings.. or how much it could. Because it's difficult to confirm. If I go and stand five meters away from the light in front of bike. I would say it does not blind me, but I might have difficult to notice objects behind the light.. And it might bother me if it shows to my eye from side, maybe.. So you need to consider that.. And turn it low when needed(on crossroads, when stopping maybe). I think it isn't that bright, that it could cause accident.. But you never know.. Other people may feel differently.
Here's some of my night ride video: if you like to see it in action. th-cam.com/video/3hHE1rCJNR0/w-d-xo.html Notice that in 2 : 40 in that video. The barrier posts on roadside have space of about.. (was it 4 meters commonly? I think it's 4m sorry if I'm wrong). Camera is wide angle, so it start to show about 1 meters from the front of the bike. So it looks, like on white snow it shows well. But if there is a pedestrian in dark clothes no reflectors and black asphalt. You won't notice him before hes already like maybe less than 5 meters in front of you. And there actually I did not tare to turn into snow too at the edge of road, because I could not see too well. I was worried I might notice too late if something in snow and can't turn back to asphalt when there are cars.
Not in that video, but some time when weather was below zero. Maybe -8C cold. I could not switch the brightness modes with the remote button. It looked like the probleem was with the usb connection. When I un blug and on blug it few times, it started to work again. Maybe there was some ice in it. It hapened maybe on 3 rides?
And here's another too long video offroad..(double track) it was darker, because no snow so the light really helped me a lot there. th-cam.com/video/oXgPzZ9loQU/w-d-xo.html The turbo mode from remote button was useful. When there was a lot of puddles. I could use it to see further and chose best route between puddles.

Busch and Müller Lamps are build that they are strong lights but only lighting the road and not the face of other people, just like car lights.

Getting depressed by the background music and not only in this video. Would you consider some more uplifting music? None would be even better than this. Otherwise great job again! ;-)

That's quite a low budget. Best bet is looking at used bikes and just get something that fits you, has disc brakes (even if mechanical assuming the price is low enough) and a casette in the back. Good fork is a plus.
Buying new for that price you'll end up with something like a Rockrider 520 from Decathlon, which isn't terrible, but it's like 100$ too expensive compared to used bikes.

Peter Kreutzer It’s for road safety I guess. I have my lights on strobe during the day when road riding during heavy-medium traffic.
