Great to see you doing this yourself Luke! I’m in the ideas/design stages of re-doing my van for the same purposes, pulling back seats out, pulling old tool drawers out, new bed frame, fridge space, power bank, solar, the works. Can’t wait for myself AND for your new adventures too. Inspirational stuff mate 👌✌️
Ahhh Luke you're living the dream a bed with a fridge freezer beside it sweet. You'll have to learn to love that fridge compressor. I agree 100% with you about always learning and being self sufficient a great philosophy. I look forward to the rest of the build. If you ain't fishing you're wishing . Cheers
I hope it's quiet I have no idea yet 😂 I may have to get a timer to let me get to sleep before it kicks back in who knows, still learning lol. See you on the next one mate 🤝
If you can put security screen with metal fly screen just on back side slide windows so u can open when its hot and no insects get in! specially on bed side!🤔😁👍
Love the Vid Luke! Have you planned to take much water? I have a good grade water tank under my Hilux tray.. I highly recommend it was drinking & washing
Very impressive setup with the 80 series mate, you've got so much space still! Are you going to put those foil window shades in so you can keep the heat out and then get some sleep in the sun if you need to? Well done😊
Looks great mate, have you considered a DC to DC charger to top up the battery whilst driving or in bad weather? They're pretty cheap, especially the Kings jobbies
What regulatory stuff did you have to go through to be able to remove the back seats legally? I have thought about it but there's plenty of mucking around in some states to do it. I believe in at least one state you have to re register the vehicle as a 2 seater if memory serves. Looks like it will be a good setup.
They make it tough. I will be putting the seats and 4 bolts back in everytime I register it. Otherwise your correct it will have to be registered as a 2 seater. Bit of a silly law but that's how Australia rolls.
@@huntersfishingadventures5324 How about if you are using it and you get checked whilst on the road.? It happened to a local guy and they basically defected the vehicle which could be an issue if you're on the road with the boat and all the gear. Not sure which state you're in but a Vic. YT'er ran through it all for his Patrol a while back.
@oldbloke204 then it gets 3 weeks to put seats back in. Let's not try promote stupid laws we don't need the public supporting these things. Just because they say it's dangerous does not mean it is. It's generally aimed at other modifications and it's a generalised rule to not over complicate things.
@@huntersfishingadventures5324 Whether you support them or not makes no difference and I was merely pointing out that it can be an issue which you never mentioned. I watched a video yesterday where a couple towing a caravan blew the motor in their vehicle and due to it having a modified program in it their warranty was refuesed. New motor about 22k plus fitting I'm guessing. Another poster said they wouldn't have had theirs done if they knew and it's a pretty well known thing. Anyway I don't give a rats so I shall leave you to it.
@@oldbloke204It is a safe mod as has anchor points and is very light. I do see your point and your right to save the drama I will put a hinge 1/4 way down so bed folds to fit seats and I will reinstall seats.
Know how it is to do your own stuff. Learn on the way your a bit older when you had to learn for your self as $ wasn’t easy to come by. Now at 64 years I’ve tried to show my 4 kids some basic dyi but nah to new age and when it hits the fan they just ring dad. 🤨

Thanks for showing your set up. It was worth the 12 hours, that looks perfect. You’re a handy fella, that helps too lol. Look forward to seeing the full set up.

Thankyou 🤝, I will look into it. It has the car lighter connection for charging, perhaps a DC solenoid switch will do it quicker.
Luke check out the new bluetti fast charger for your car it can do away with solar panels
Looks the goods may solve all my powere issues thankyou 🤝
Have you looked in to the emu wing windows
My mate suggested it. I may get one down the track it would create about 50mm extra room. I will see how I like the current setup
