At best, it's a sideways move, but only becaue the MAC and the MWC are equally awful. UNLV had a fluke season, but their coach left and now they are back to being a transfer portal minor league. If you take out UNLV, the highest rated school is #83 San Jose St. Without Boise and Fresno, the MW are all bottom feeders. The MW doesn't even televise every game, so NIU alum will only get to see 8 or 9 ganes on TV, and the longer distance between schools means there won't be any fan support for away games. The better move would have been to the AAC.
